Arrived early. All pieces were there and it was a snap to make this upgrade to the old hitch. E-trailer has always been great to do business with. 853332

Before purchasing this product, I was using a reducer sleeve for my 2013 F250 which had too much "slop" and could move around alot. I've been using this product for a year and have definitely enjoyed the better fit. I would have given it 5 stars but I did have to sand off some of the paint to get it to slide smoothly into the receiver. 806333

Bought a new F250 with the 2.5" receiver but my existing hitch shank was 2". I found trying to position a sleeve adapter while also holding and positioning the heavy weight distribution hitch to be frustrating. I replaced the 2" shank on my Blue Ox WDH with this 2.5" shank to eliminate that problem. As always, etrailer provided fast delivery and great communication. 795976

The product was delivered in a timely fashion and was a great upgrade. Going from a 2” receiver on a half ton truck to a class V with 2-1/2” receiver required this shank for the equalizer hitch. Great service as usual. Thank you 793122

Order was fast and quick. I wanted to upgrade the hitch and arms to the 14K from the 10K Equalizer set up. The arms are larger giving me the added lift I needed. I also was tired of the additional play in my Ford OEM receiver so I ordered from them the 21/2" stinger. I transferred hardware over including the ball and everything is much better. I have little to no play now trailer is level and all sway is gone. Thank you etrailer for always recommending the right products and having what I need. I will always use you and recommend you to all my friends! 777677

I was using a 2" shank with a reducer on my 2017 Ram 3500 with a 2 1/2" hitch. It had way too much play in it for me. Ordered an Equalizer 2 1/2" shank and it is much improved. Typical Equalizer quality. Tori was very friendly and knowledgeable and made ordering a pleasure. Great company! 716519

Shaft is pretty solid and hefty , fits the hitch pretty tight , everything swapped over from other shaft I was given when I bought the camper and had almost 2.5 inches of play including the insert from 2.5 to 2 inch. 697841

Upgraded from 1/2 ton tow vehicle with a 2" hitch receiver to a 2018 GMC 2500HD which has a 2-1/2" hitch receiver. Instead of using the OE supplied 2" to 2-1/2" adaptor I opted for the Equalizer 2-1/2" shank to go with my existing Equalizer WDH hitch to pull my 30ft. travel trailer. Shank is typical Equalizer quality and fits in my 2-1/2" receiver as designed. 603571

In the end I am happy with the product, shipping and ease of the website. My only issue was that of the paint job on the shank. I have included a picture showing this. It was all covered by the weight distribution/ball setup and no longer visible. I will recommend to others and order again without hesitation when the time arrives. Thank you, 569062

I was using the adapter sleeve that came with my F250 and the Equalizer Hitch with a 2-inch shank. I have to say this new 2-1/2 inch shank reduces sway even more. It was worth the extra expense of changing out. Etrailer delivered on-time at a competitive price. 558822

I'm thankful to find this shank that is already adapted to fit my stock heavy duty hitch which is 1/2" larger than what is common on most tow packages. Being able to use this instead of an adapter collar is a pure solid feel, one less part to keep track of and a fair price. Thank you for the quick shipping and good customer service to ensure me this was the part I was looking for. 546830

This is one heavy duty shank. The initial adjustments I made to it have stayed in place and no back off of any bolts.

I ordered this shank by phone on Monday and spoke with Crystal. I informed her that I was planning a trip at the end of the week. Crystal could not promise me that the order would arrive by then, because I chose not to upgrade to expedite shipping due to cost. Crystal did say that she would get my order in ASAP to get it started. 3 days later my Shank was delivered to my door by UPS. Thanks Crystal for great customer service! I will be ordering from you again! 493458

  • Can 12,000 lb Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Hitch be Used With 2-1/2 Inch Shank
You can absolutely get the Equal-i-zer weight distribution hitch and a 2-1/2" shank, you simply need to get the system and shank separately, starting with the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution with 4-Point Sway Control - No Shank - 12,000 lbs GTW, 1,200 lbs TW # EQ37121ET. Then, you just need to get the shank for a 2-1/2" receiver that has the maximum rise or drop you need: - 7" Rise, 3" Drop: Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Shank - 2-1/2" Hitch # EQ90-02-4700 - 8" Rise, 4" Drop:...

  • Can a 2-1/2 WD Shank be Used with a System that Uses a 2 Shank
Most WD shanks that fit a 2-1/2" receiver taper down to the normal 2" receiver size, just like the Equal-i-zer Shank # EQ90-02-4700. The only thing that you need to be sure of is that the mounting holes are in the same space. I have linked a photo displaying the dimensions I referenced for you.

  • How to Determine What Rise/Drop That is Needed for Weight Distribution System
To determine how much of a Rise or Drop you would need so that your towing setup is level you will need to compare some measurements. Start off my parking your 2017 GMC on level ground and then measuring from the ground to the top of the receiver opening. You will then want to park your trailer on level ground and measure from the ground to the bottom of the coupler. If the top of your receiver opening is taller (which is most likely the case) you will want to subtract the height of...

Most of our weight distribution systems do not come with a 2-1/2" shank. Some do but your options are limited at that point. The best solution I have for you would be to choose the weight distribution system you want without a shank, and use a 2-1/2" shank which is sold separately to allow you to use the system on your 2014 Ram 3500. The shank does not have to be the same brand as the weight distribution system you are using it on. The only thing you will need to know in order to choose...

  • Will Equal-I-zer Weight Distribution Shank Work with Rock Tamers Mud Flap System
On Equal-I-zer weight distribution shank # EQ90-02-4700 it measures approximately 3-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the support gusset. If you measure from the center of your hitch pin hole out to the face of the receiver you can subtract that measurement from 3-1/2. If the difference is 1 inch or greater then you can use it with Rock Tamers such as # ERT00108.

  • Can Other Brands of Weight Distribution Heads be Used with Equalizer Shank # EQ90-02-4700
Yes, the Equalizer Shank part # EQ90-02-4700 that you referenced can be used with other brand weight distribution heads. Basically all of the WD system manufacturers decided to use the same dimensions for their heads and shanks so all of the shanks are interchangeable. The # EQ90-02-4700 is a great solution for fitting a system in to a 2-1/2 inch hitch.

I do have a solution for you, however at this time there are no 3" Weight Distribution (WD) shanks available like the Equal-i-zer # EQ90-02-4700 that you referenced. Instead you can simply use the Equal-i-zer # EQ90-02-4700 with the Curt Reducer Sleeve # C45408. This will take your 3" receiver down to a 2-1/2" or 2" size so that you can still use your accessories.

Yes. The 2-1/2 inch shanks like # EQ90-02-4700 or # EQ90-02-4900 will allow you to use the same Fastway e2 system. The shanks are not brand specific and are often interchangeable to meet your specific needs. • Reducer Sleeve for Equal-I-zer Weight Distribution System in 2-1/2 Inch Receiver of 2016 Ford F350
The reducer sleeve does need to be a bit smaller than the interior dimension of the receiver or it could become stuck. Typically a bit of 'slop' between the shank and the receiver or in this case, the reducer and shank isn't much of a concern with a weight distribution system because the spring bars of the system are applying a good deal of upward leverage against the receiver.
