  • Is There An Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System For A Truck With 6 Inch Lift
Yes, if you have a lifted truck then you would want to purchase the weight distribution system and shank separately as this will then allow you to obtain a shank that has the correct amount of drop for your truck without having to purchase an extra one. For starters, you will need the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System part # EQ37101ET and then you can obtain one of the following: Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Shank - part # EQ90-02-4200 (4" Drop) Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution...

  • Solution for Blue Ox Weight Distribution System That Needs More Drop to Tow Trailer Level
Hey Joseph, we have just what you are looking for but the Blue Ox Adjustable Drop Hitch Receiver Adapter # BLU28XR is not your ideal solution to get more drop. Instead you'd want to swap the shank of your system with one that has more drop built into it like the Fastway e2 part # FA92-02-4214 which can provide a drop of 5-1/2 inches. If the trailer's coupler height was around 19 inches this would be ideal. You'd measure this from bottom lip of coupler to the ground. If you need a lot...

  • Replacement Shank for Equal-i-zer WDH for 2021 GMC Sierra 2500 With Lift Kit
Hey Kathy! Do you have a 2-1/2" hitch on your 2021 GMC Sierra 2500? Assuming you do, you can use the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Shank - 12" Long - 13" Rise, 9" Drop # EQ94FR. If you have a 2" hitch then you need the Equal-i-zer Wt Distribution Shank - 12" - 13" Rise, 9" Drop # EQ90-02-4400. Both will allow you to drop the head down further so you can keep your setup level after adding the lift kit. Any big trips coming up with your Airstream?

  • Recommendation For Reducing Rear End Sag On Lifted 2017 Ram 1500 When Towing a Travel Trailer
The best way to help reduce sag when towing your travel trailer with your 2017 Ram 1500 Bighorn having a lift is with a weight distribution hitch. Personally I fee the Equal-i-zer hitch systems are the best option as they are made in the USA and have a reputation as being one of the best available. You do need to select the correct system based on the weight of your trailer. 200-600lbs Tongue Weight, Trailer Up to 6,000lbs # EQ37060ET 600-1,000lbs Tongue Weight, Trailer Up to 10,000lbs...

  • How To Determine The Correct Rise/Drop For A Weight Distribution Shank For 2 Inch Hitch
Choosing the proper shank is a very important task. The shank will correspond to the height of both the vehicle and trailer. In order to choose the proper shank, you will need to do a bit of measuring. To select the correct rise/drop, you will first measure from the ground up until you reach the top of your vehicle's trailer hitch opening. You will then need to measure from the ground up until you reach the bottom of your trailer's coupler. The difference between the two will provided...

  • Best Way To Lower A Weight Distribution Hitch To Work On a Lifted Vehicle
My recommendation is to use a replacement drop shank like the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # EQ90-02-4400. This shank is capable of up to 9" of drop and will work with weight distribution hitches that have a 1-1/4" vertical hole center spacing. If you let me know exactly how much drop you need and what weight distribution hitch you have I can find you the correct shank for your vehicle. I do not recommend cutting your weight distribution shank. We do have an option for one that has a 9" drop it is the Equal-i-zer Wt Distribution Shank item # EQ90-02-4400. This shank is closer to the lower end of in-between. I have linked a diagram with the dimensions below so you can compare it to your current ones. This shank fits a 2" hitch has a 13" rise and a 9" drop. It has a gross trailer weight of 14,000 lbs and a maximum tongue weight of 600 lbs - 1,400 lbs.

I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution # EQ37101ET for your 2019 GMC Yukon XL Denali hauling a Forest River Flagstaff weighing 8,300lbs with 830lbs of tongue weight. This hitch is rated for a trailer up to 10,000lbs with a tongue weight of 600-1,000lbs. • Best Weight Distribution System for Grand Design Momentum 25G Trailer With 11,500 lb GVWR
For the Grand Design Momentum 25G the best Equal-i-zer weight distribution system is the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System - 14,000 lbs GTW, 1,400 lbs TW # EQ37140ET. The reason for that is you want to choose your system based on total tongue weight (TTW), which is the tongue weight of your fully loaded and ready to go trailer plus the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of your truck. This particular system is rated for a trailer up to 12,000lbs with a tongue weight of 800-1,200lbs and has a maximum drop of 3". • How Level Does Trailer Need To Be Using Weight Distribution
It's really going to depend on how far out of level you are. If you're within an inch or two of level, especially if it's nose-high, you'll be just fine. Turning off the auto-leveling system is not a bad ideal, if it keeps the rear of the vehicle at the correct ride height so the trailer tows level, or nearly level. Keep in mind-when you tow, you'll likely have cargo in the rear of your Yukon, which would likely cause the rear to squat a bit more than it is now. This will likely put the...

  • Recommended Weight Distribution/Sway Control for 8700 lb Travel Trailer Pulled With Lifted Truck
Since you have a pretty long camper, it'll be pretty susceptible to trailer sway caused by cross winds and oncoming or passing traffic. A large camper with tall sides acts like a big sail on a boat which is why using a weight distribution system with a good integrated sway control component is highly recommended. If the 8750 lb figure represents the fully loaded and ready to tow weight of your trailer including the weight of anything carried in the truck bed behind the rear axle, then...

  • Equal-I-zer Weight Distribution Shank that has More than 3 Inches of Drop
There are other shanks you can use that offer more drop so you can tow the trailer level. For example shank # EQ90-02-4400 offers up to 9 inches of drop. To determine the amount of drop you will need there are a couple of measurements to take. First, level the trailer and measure from the ground to the bottom of the coupler. On the truck measure from the ground to the top of the receiver opening. The difference will be the amount of drop you will need.

  • Weight Distribution Hitch Recommendation for 2018 Ford Raptor Towing Airstream Globetrotter
In order to choose the correct weight distribution system for your truck and trailer, it is really important to know your trailer's loaded and ready to tow tongue weight. Since this is the primary weight being distributed by a weight distribution system, it is the main factor in choosing a properly rated system. If you end up towing your camper at it's max gross vehicle weight rating of 6,500 lbs, and the tongue weight falls between 10% and 15% of the total trailer weight, we can expect...

Your 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Trail Boss will not require any suspension helper springs when you are towing with a weight distribution hitch. The weight distribution hitch will provide the ride leveling when correctly installed. You did make a great choice with the Equal-i-zer weight distribution hitch with a tongue weight capacity of between 600 lbs and 1,000 lbs, which is exactly what you'll need for your tongue weight. • Determining The Correct Drop Shank For An Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Hitch
To determine the correct drop needed the safest way is to first get the trailer and truck on level ground and level the trailer. You'll measure from the ground up to the top of the inside of the trailer hitch receiver tube on the truck and from the ground to the bottom of the trailer. You'll subtract the trailer's height from the truck's height to get your drop. With you being off 1.5" to 2" adding in spacers really isn't going to be enough. Each hole in the shank is an inch difference...
