Very happy with this purchase. Just what I needed. Came right when you said I would. Works Great. Thanks.

by:

Good solid product. The box it shipped in was trashed as was the brake controller box that was also inside. Not the best packaging but oh well. E Trailer is still a great source and I would definitely use again.

by:

I can't believe how heavy and rock solid this thing is! I needed the extra drop since my truck is lifted 6" - works perfectly.

These are pics of RP3344 installed on my 2011 Dodge Ram. The hitch is still not perfect. I need two more inches of drop to have the trailer level. It is inclined up as it sets on the ball rather than flat. Not e the truck is real close to level.

I needed to replace the Hitch Shank to better accommodate our new/used Airstream and F150 truck. I had chosen the same brand as the stabilizer hitch I had but that part, unknown to me, was on a long lead time. George at e-trailer noticed this and contacted me with the delayed delivery information but also make 2 recommendations that could be delivered in a few days. I choose one, placed the order, cancelled the previous order (thanks to Mackenzie) and it arrived a couple days later and it was exactly what I needed. I am now able to make a trip this weekend for a few days to a nearby park in difference to winterizing the trailer and putting it away for the season. I consider this excellent service. Thanks to George and Mackenzie. And to all with whom I did not communicate who got the part to me. Cheers

etrailer price gaurantee is REAL! I found same item for less money. I followed instructions on providing proof. Almost immediately etrailer credited my account for the difference plus some. Just great service and communication all around. Well done etrailer.

Going to Yukon Denali XL with larger wheels and a through-the-bumper hitch vs. Under the bumper a hitch with more was necessary. This one has alot of adjustments available for that perfect tow height and is built like an anvil. It works!

  • Can I use Anti-Rattle Clamps on the Moving Parts
The Flash Solid Steel Adjustable 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch part # FA49-00-5900 itself is pretty solid at those points on the when compared to something like the MaxxTow adjustable mount which seems to be very loose fitting. For the adjustable ball portion there isn't a good anti rattle device that will work. or the connection point to the hitch you can use the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch for 2" Trailer Hitches part # RM-061 this is my favorite anti rattle because it is rock solid. • Will I Need a Longer Weight Distribution Shank if I Switch to a Lifted Truck?
If you only have the shank that came with your Blue Ox SwayPro system, then you will almost definitely need a longer shank to tow with a lifted F-350. The good news is the brand isn't all that important because most shanks are interchangeable between brands and we can help you figure out what size shank you will actually need. I attached a help article to this page that talks about how to find the correct rise or drop for a ball mount. Basically, you will just want to get your truck and...

  • Can a Reese Weight Distribution Shank be Used with a Curt Weight Distribution Head
In terms of compatibility, it depends on which components of a weight distribution system you are referring to. For example, Curt spring bars will not fit in a Reese head nor will Reese bars fit in a Curt head. But, if you are talking about the shank, a Curt or Reese head will fit each others shank. The holes on a Reese shank, # RP3344, are spaced the same as those on a Curt shank; 1-1/4 inches on center.

  • Will The Reese Weight Distribution Shank Allow Low Enough Drop And Level Truck and Trailer
The item you selected, Reese Weight Distribution Shank, part # RP63971 does have a lower drop than part # RP54970, but you will need to measure to determine which shank you will need for your towing setup. To do this, there are a few steps involved. First, you will need to measure from the ground to the top of the receiver on your trailer hitch. Then, while your trailer is not connected to the vehicle and is on level ground, measure from the ground to the bottom of the trailer coupler. Now...

  • Replacement Weight Distribution Shank for 2-Inch and 2-1/2-Inch WD Systems
The good news is that weight distribution shanks from different brands are all made with standardized hole diameter and spacing so it is possible, for example, to use a Reese shank with an Equal-i-zer head and vice-versa. We don't offer your specific brand but we do have many shanks available for both 2-inch and 2-1/2-inch hitches. For a 2-inch shank that will give you about 8-inches of drop you can use Reese shank # RP3344 (good to 1400-lbs tongue weight) or Curt # C17124 (good to 1500-lbs...

  • Weight Distribution Shank For Truck With 6-Inch Lift Using Equal-I-zer Weight Distribution
I went to our warehouse and matched an Equal-i-zer 10K head to a couple shanks for you. The shank I recommend is the Reese Weight Dist Shank, part # RP3344. When the head is placed in the bottom holes the distance from the ball platform on the head to the top of the shank that slides in your hitch is 8-1/4 inches. That is a little more than the 7 inches you said you needed at minimum. The holes are spaced 1-1/4 inches apart so the next distance form ball platform to the top of the shank...

  • Recommended Drop Weight Distribution Shank for Use with a EAZ Elite Weight Distribution System
The bolt hole diameter and vertical spacing of a weight distribution shank is fairly universal across different brands. However, in order to be sure the EAZ Elite system you have now uses this same top to bottom bolt hole spacing then you will need to do some measuring. As long as the distance between the vertical bolt holes on your shank is 1-1/4" apart and the holes are 3/4" diameter then I recommend the Reese Weight Dist Shank part # RP3344 which offers up to 8-5/8" of drop. • Weight Distribution Shank Doesn't Have Enough Drop To Tow Trailer Level
How much is the drop on the weight distribution shank you are using now? We may have one that offers more drop. If not the only other option is to raise the height of the trailer. To do this the leaf spring stack must be below the axle(s) and they must be double eye leaf springs. We have 2 conversion kits that will allow you to move the spring stacks to the top of the axle. Use # K71-384-00 for 2-3/8 inch diameter round axles or # K71-385-00 for 3 inch diameter round axles. One kit will...

  • Options to Help Sway and Bounce of a 6 x 10 Trailer Towed By a Chevrolet Tahoe With 3 Inch Lift
There are a few things that you can do that will help with the sway and bounce on your 6 x 10 trailer when you are pulling it with your Chevrolet Tahoe. The first thing you can try to do is tow the trailer level. If the tongue on the trailer is high, then the trailer will not have as much stability if it were level. You may want to consider the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned Ball Mount with 8 inch drop, # AMSC8. This would lower the tongue of your trailer 2 inches from the 6 inch ball mount you...

The Reese # RP3344 and Curt # C17124 Weight Distribution Shanks that you referenced are interchangeable with regards to the weight distribution heads that they fit but they differ in their lengths, capacity, and the amount of drop they can provide. The Reese # RP3344 will give you a maximum drop of 8-5/8 inches if used with a round bar system or a drop of 7-5/8 inches with a trunnion bar system. My technical contact at Reese confirmed that using a properly-rated and -installed weight distribution/sway control system such as the Reese Dual Cam should provide some reduction in trailer sway. You are correct that the sway you are experiencing when towing with your lifted Ram 2500 with 37-inch tires could be a result of the altered geometry in the tow vehicle, in particular the higher center of gravity. If your current weight distribution set-up has your trailer out of level when hitched...

I have a better solution that I can provide for you, but Firestone does not have spacers available for their Coil Rite system anyway so suspension enhancement would not work. What you would want is a weight distribution system. This greatly helps handling and braking. The best way to pick out a weight distribution system...

If the adjustment range on the head/shank of your weight distribution system does not allow you to lower it enough for the trailer to remain level when hitched then you will need to select a new shank that has 4-inches more drop than the one you're using now. For a Reese trunnion type WD system like # RP66084 which you referenced you could use a shank like # RP3344 which offers up to 8-5/8-inches of drop. All WD shanks are shown on the linked page.

  • Correct Weight Distribution Shank to Provide 1-1/2 Inches of Drop
Since there is a 1-1/2 inch drop needed, I would recommend the Reese Weight Distribution Shank, part # RP54970. When used in the drop position with a trunnion bar system, it offers 1-1/4 inches of drop which would be just about perfect. The 1/4 inch difference would be nothing to worry about, as the truck would settle a bit once the trailer is hitched.

A weight distribution hitch is recommended any time the weight of your trailer exceeds 50% of the weight of your tow vehicle. Since your 2021 Heartland Sundance 293RL has a dry weight of 7100lbs and a GVWR of 9500lbs I do recommend you use a weight distribution hitch, as that is well over 50% of the weight of your 2001 Ford F-350 Longbed Diesel. Now the tongue weight you mentioned sounds like the specs the manufacturer of the trailer lists. If that is the case, you will want to measure...

It is possible that your truck weighs at or less than 5,200 pounds and, if so, weight distribution would be a good idea.
