Features to know about

Keeps Your Trailer Centered on the Road: Built-In Positive Caster Angle

Trailer sway can start suddenly—whether from wind, passing trucks, or an uneven load. The TrackPro takes a proactive approach by using a positive caster angle built right into the hitch head. Just like how a car’s steering wheel self-centers after a turn, this built-in caster helps your trailer track straight behind you. It works hand-in-hand with the trunnion-style spring bars to create a self-centering force that prevents sway before it begins. You’ll notice your trailer stays true to lane without constant steering correction, even on long stretches of open highway.

Simplifies Setup with Pre-Set Pitch and Easy Adjustment

Getting the hitch head angle right is usually a time-consuming part of setup. The TrackPro saves you from that hassle with a pre-set pitch on the head assembly, so you don’t need to mess with washers or a fine-tune screw. The only adjustment you’ll ever need is setting the head height on the 7-hole shank to level your trailer. Once that’s done, you’re ready to tow. The system fits 2" x 2" hitches rated for weight distribution and includes the shank, head, 2-5/16" ball, spring bars, and all hardware—everything needed for installation.

Fights Sway with Steel-on-Steel Friction

Even steady setups can get hit by side gusts or turbulence from a passing semi. When that happens, the TrackPro’s steel-on-steel friction between the spring bars and L-brackets steps in to keep things in line. The rigid bracket design holds the trailer steady, while the friction works to pull it back on course if sway starts. It’s the same principle that keeps freight trains stable on steel rails. You might hear some creaking or grinding as it works—that’s just the system doing its job to maintain control.

Levels and Stabilizes Your Ride: 6,000 lbs GTW and 600 lbs Tongue Weight

With a gross towing weight rating of 6,000 lbs and a tongue weight range of 200–600 lbs, this system is a solid match for small to mid-size trailers. The trunnion spring bars distribute tongue weight evenly across all axles, reducing rear sag and keeping your headlamps aimed where they should be. The result is a level, stable ride and balanced braking. The shank offers up to 2" of drop or 8" of rise, so you can fine-tune for nearly any trailer height.

Built Tough for the Long Haul

The TrackPro is powder-coated steel for durability and corrosion resistance. Grease zerks built into the trunnions make lubrication simple, helping the moving parts stay smooth over time. The no-drill, clamp-on brackets fit trailer frames up to 6" tall and can be positioned 20" to 25" back from the hitch ball to clear mounted accessories like battery boxes or propane tanks. It’s a heavy-duty hitch that’s quiet, easy to maintain, and ready for years of towing confidence.

@Kathleen Glad to hear we had the right weight distribution hitch for you Kathleen! What kind of trailer are you pulling?

by:

The product has performed well and was very adaptable to the needs of my rig and situation. I think it is an excellent product.

by:

It works well, I did lose one of the pins, holding the bar in place while I was driving, notice no performance decrement, but was amazed that I lost it

by:

Came with package in only fair shape but all parts were there and installed easily. Looks like good quality wdh, easy to hookup too.

by:

Item received timely and in good condition. Installation was rather simple, as the instructions were very good and everything for well. However, on of the pins was missing. This was a minor inconvenience, as I was able to find one at the closest hardware store 10 miles away. This is the only reason this is not a five star rating. Upon completion of installation, pulling my grooming trailer with the water tanks partial or full at greater than 55 mph was no longer a harrowing experience that I often wondered if I would survive. If you pull a trailer often, and it had swaying issues, this product is absolutely necessary.

I will have our customer service team reach out to you. The manufacturer prefers to have you use the hardware that comes with the system however if you do need to use replacement hardware in a pinch you will want to make sure that it is grade 8 hardware.

by:

We use this with our Winnebago Hike, it’s a great hitch. The sway was almost not existent, even in bad cross winds.

by:

the order delivered was missing the tool for the spring bars. I contacted etrailer and a replacement was sent immediately

by:

Amazingly fast delivery. Great info for getting installed. Thank you!

by:

Happy with the product and was an easy install. After watching a few videos of how to hook up to the trailer, it’s easy enough for my wife to hook up to travel trailer on her own. Pulled thru some pretty tough terrain in Big Bend and survived some tough mountain passes in Colorado. So far so good. Definitely happy with our purchase.

During these times everything is more difficult. I think it is so important your administration and the entire e trailer team knows you have all endeavored to persevere and have done an incredible job! Keep up the great work. Special thanks to Patricia and Marty

When I first started using the blue ox I had a smaller vehicle and it worked out great!! No dropping of the tow vehicle and never had an issue with sway.

by:

Towing a single axle 6x12 3500# Enclosed cargo trailer with a Jeep UJK. This unit has worked flawlessly. Great stability even with Arizona cross winds. Can recommend it. Warning, this is one very heavy piece of kit. It is solid.

by:

Easy to use. Does a good job of reducing bounce and sway. We got hit with a huge sidewind gust in west Texas once that blew our little trailer almost into the next lane, but were able to get it back under control. Winds were 55mph and gusts higher!

by:

I didn't get the chance to install it. The box arrived damage and upon opening was missing parts. eTrailer was ready to ship the missing parts without question and I really appreciate that but we would've missed our trip. Had to install a similar item from different brand.

Recommend the merchant but beware the shipping losses.

by:

These were easy to install on our 2021 Cherokee Wolf Pup trailer. The sway control is very good and the towing is now a very smooth safe ride. Backing is very easy. The only drawback is we have to raise the trailer tongue and truck pretty high with the jack to get them on easily. Lots of tension on the bars. Safety and smooth towing is why we purchased and for this i would recommend purchasing.

by:

When I received the product, it had many gashes and scratches. Very poorly packed for such heavy items. Also, the bars are designed to force the support brackets to angle downward which causes additional scratches. Chose this hitch because it has the option to use a longer shank than the one provided. Otherwise, may have used the lighter Andersen version. Other than that, the hitch should function as designed and should be a good product if you have things on the back of your tow vehicle and require a long shank

by:

Quick delivery, easy instruction and works very well

by:

This is a strong, well built WD hitch receiver. Arrived undamaged and I was able to install it easily, instructions were clear and etrailer has several videos that make it clear just what to do. My only concern was that the amount of noise the tension bars would make with movement, especially turning, but that has turned out to be minimal. The recommended setting of the hardware where the bars rest turned out to be just right for my 2015 Odyssey, and the camper (Little Guy Mini Max) and van ride level and within specs. Driving the combo was very satisfactory with nary a wiggle or sway, and ground clearance is also fine . I do have one complaint, and other reviews mention this too: the hardware that mounts on the trailer tongue tends to rotate during the stress of use, and I have had to readjust mine twice now. The use of nylon lock nuts for this hardware was not a good choice by the manufacturer. I am switching to lock washers and standard nuts of proper rating to see if that solves the problem. Were it not for this issue, I would have given a 5-star rating.

by:

Wow can’t believe this company would mail out a product sold as new in this condition.

by:

My only gripe with etrailer is shipping quality. This is a heavy item, well constructed, heavy duty, not lightweight. To ship this in a standard cardboard box without reinforcement is nuts. When delivered by UPS this box had gapping holes and part of the contents were protruding outside the shipping box. My UPS driver stated that such heavy items should be attached to a wood skeleton inside the box to keep from moving around during shipment. To my amazement all the parts were present, albeit banged up a bit with paint damage and gouging. So be aware that you may find your order in similar condition. etrailer responds to me with yada yada. Not real happy with this one but the unit itself is quite robust although a little black enamel will be required.

Works just as it should as my 20trailer is now stable without sway and my tow vehicle rides level. I have also noticed rotating hardware on the trailer frame, but only to a point where the flat bottom of the torsion bar lies flat against the L bracket whereas it doesnt rotate any further. Ive kept it at this slight angle and it works great. Heavy duty and built tough.

  • Determining If Blue Ox TrackPro BLU36FR Will Work On Trailer With GVWR of 4995lbs
To confirm which weight distribution hitch will work to tow your trailer with a GVWR of 4995lbs you will need to measure its tongue weight, as the tongue weight rating is usually with the trailer unloaded and will not be accurate. The easiest way to get an accurate tongue weight measurement is with a tongue weight scale like the # e99044, but there are other methods that are outlined in the included help article. Since your trailers GVWR is 4995lbs and tongue weight is typically 10-15%...

Hello Thomas, thanks for reaching out. Blue Ox and Reese are both solid options for a weight distribution hitch. Between the two I would lean towards Blue Ox, just because their systems tend to be a bit more user-friendly and they will offer better results. For your 2025 R-Pod 171 I recommend the Blue Ox TrackPro # BLU36FR. This is made to work on trailers with a tongue weight between 200 and 600 lbs. With your tongue weight being 360 lbs you will be right within that range at all times....

Hey John, thanks for reaching out! If the 470 lbs of tongue weight you're talking about is with the 2017 Airstream fully loaded for travel then the 6K Blue Ox TrackPro # BLU36FR is a great solution for you as long as your tongue weight is 10-15% of the loaded trailer weight. Otherwise I recommend the 8K Blue Ox TrackPro # BLU47FR because it gives you the ability to load your Airstream to the full GVWR and still be effective.

Hey Jered, thanks for reaching out. We do have a weight distribution system that will work for your snowmobile trailer, but the Curt # C17062 you were looking at is not correct. This is intended for trailers with a tongue weight around 800-1000 lbs. Your tongue weight is probably more like 300-400 lbs. So this would be rated much too high for your trailer. There would not be enough tension on the spring bars so you would not get good sway control. What I recommend instead is the Blue Ox...
