Question:
I just bought a 2025 R-Pod 171. Toungue wieght is 360. Dry wieght is 2,529. Towing with a 2024 Jeep Wrangler. I want to buy a wieght distribution/sway bar hitch. Looking at Blue Ox and Reese. There are so many different ones. I am confused on which model of these brands is the correct one for me.

Hello Thomas, thanks for reaching out. Blue Ox and Reese are both solid options for a weight distribution hitch. Between the two I would lean towards Blue Ox, just because their systems tend to be a bit more user-friendly and they will offer better results.
For your 2025 R-Pod 171 I recommend the Blue Ox TrackPro # BLU36FR. This is made to work on trailers with a tongue weight between 200 and 600 lbs. With your tongue weight being 360 lbs you will be right within that range at all times. This means there will be sufficient tension on the spring bars to where you will see good ride leveling and sway control. Overall, they are very well-built, made here in the USA too. If it were my trailer, I would not hesitate to use a Blue Ox WD hitch.
Blue Ox systems are fairly easy to set up too. The hitch ball comes pre-torqued onto the head, so you won't have to mess with that. Just note the frame brackets need to be laced between 20" and 25" back from the hitch ball, so please measure your frame to make sure there is room for the brackets. The frame brackets are about 2" wide.

Hey Thomas, how did things go with the Blue Ox TrackPro on your R-Pod 171? Did the setup give you the ride leveling and sway control you were hoping for with your Wrangler? Your update could make it easier for others towing a similar trailer.
