Trailer Bed Dimensions

Overall Dimensions

Note: Due to the size of this item it ships via truck freight and only to the contiguous United States.

With a 1,295-lb payload capacity, this Mighty Multi utility trailer can be used for hauling an ATV, UTV, equipment, yard waste, and much more. And its lightweight construction makes it easy for even small cars and trucks to tow.

Folding Rear Tailgate

Folding Tailgate

The rear tailgate can be folded down and used as a ramp for easy loading and unloading. As you load your wheeled equipment into the trailer bed, the rungs on the tailgate will allow water and grime to drain through. To fold the tailgate down, simply unclip the 2 snapper pins that connect the tailgate to the trailer bed.

2-Position Bed Adjustment

2-Position Adjustment

The trailer bed can either be level in its travel position, or tilted down for loading and unloading. This makes it safer and easier for you to load heavy items because you can slide them into the trailer rather than having to lift them.

How to Tilt the Trailer

To tilt the trailer bed, simply remove the pin that connects the bed to the frame.

Once the pin is removed, the trailer bed can be tilted down into the loading/unloading position. Shifting heavy items toward the rear of the trailer will help to tilt the bed down so that you don't have to do as much heavy lifting. Once you're ready to reload, shift the weight of any heavy items toward the front of the trailer to help the bed level out again. When the trailer bed is back in its travel position, reinsert the pin to secure the trailer bed back onto the frame.

Trailer Lighting

Tail Lights

The trailer's tail lights work in tandem with the brake lights and turn signals of your vehicle, and they are compliant with DOT standards for street safety. Additional marker lights are located on each side of the trailer, and they will illuminate when your vehicle lights are turned on. This makes the trailer more visible at night.

Trailer Wiring

The trailer light wiring is pre-installed and cleanly attached under the trailer bed. The wiring harnesses are conveniently located in each light bracket, making it quick and easy to plug in the tail lights and marker lights when you mount them.

License Plate Bracket

An additional bracket is included for your license plate. This will attach to the driver's-side tail light.

Ask the Experts about this Detail K2 Trailers

  • What is Recommended Trailer Tire Pressure
The tire manufacturers state to fill the tires to their max pressure when cold and whatever pressure increase that happens as they warm up is perfectly fine and acceptable. If you inflate them to less than the max rating the capacity of the tire is diminished and it's going to heat up due to the sidewall flexing which will cause them to fail prematurely.

  • Trailer To Haul an Adult Trike and Adult Bike with a 2008 Ford Escape
The Detail K2 Mighty Multi Utility Trailer part # K2MMT4X6 is what I recommend you use to haul both your adult trike and adult bike with your 2008 Ford Escape. This trailer only weighs 305 lbs so the Escape won't even know it's back there and it has a ramp so it's easy to load. The internal dimension of 72" long x 48" wide will be plenty for your two bikes and this particular trailer has all that you need to hit the road. In order to secure the bikes to the trailer you could also use the...

I have a solution for you, however your 2010 Toyota Highlander won't be able to handle the weight of the carrier plus the weight of the motorcycle on a traditional hitch carrier like part # SMC600 because its tongue weight capacity just isn't high enough. When you use a non-trailer load, all of the weight, accessory plus cargo, is directly applied to the tongue weight, so you'll quickly exceed your limit. I have linked a video review of this trailer for you. There are less expensive trailers, specifically # K2MMT4X6, but it would be awkward to load and secure a kayak to it.
