Question:
I see very little choice in the left hand versions of these type winches? I need the hole pattern offered on this winch but need a left side crank. Any suggestions? Thanks

The left hand version of the Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch w/ Automatic Brake - TUFFPLATE Finish part # DL14927 is Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch w/ Automatic Brake - TUFFPLATE Finish - Left Side Handle part # DL16331. The capacity of the left hand winch DL16331 is a bit lower at 1,200 lbs. This is the closest option we have available with a left handle. The bolt patterns are not exactly the same but they have elongated holes to assist with installation. I have attached the mounting pattern of both winches for your reference.
The other option is the Fulton F2 Fully Enclosed Trailer Winch part # FW20000301 which allows you to use it as a right hand or left hand winch. It has a 2,000 lb capacity. The biggest difference with this winch, it does not have an automatic brake. To stop you would need to stop turning the handle, hold it there, and then manually turn the pawl knob to the opposite setting. I have attached the mounting hole pattern for this winch as well.
