Westlake Radials

This radial ply tire from Westlake is constructed with double steel belts and double polyester cords for increased durability. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation.

Westlake Standard Tread Close-Up

The standard tread on this tire has solid, continuous ribs, and there are very few sipes (or thin grooves) cut into the rubber. This tire is designed for use on trailers, so it doesn't require the level of traction that would be needed on a vehicle that is braking or steering.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

Tire arrived in perfect condition. The year of the tire was made was the year purchased. Will purchase another set in two years since I replace every three years. Price was good.
Thanks you,

I am a great fan of etrailer, but these tires are very poor. I am very diligent about tire pressures and lug nut torque and check both before every trip or after an overnight stop. Tires are inflated per the manufacturers specification. The trailer had these as OEM equipment, and this tire was a replacement for one of them. The trailer is 24' and was carrying my Mini track car. Speed was around 70mph as a maximum. We weighed it and it was certainly no where near the weight limit for the trailer or the tires. Despite all of that, three of these tires delaminated and exploded on my ATC trailer in the space of two trips over about 6 months. They were costly to replace and did significant damage to my wheel wells and steps, which added to the expense. I would not recommend buying these tires.

by:

Very good tires, second set I've owned.. Will use them again.. We have an account with etrailer. Always have treated up well.

by:

These tires are exactly what I ordered they are a very good tire. Had some exactly like these on another trailer and they did fantastic no problems and tread wear was good.

The tires I purchased have been working fantastic. I especially like them that they dont have little sipes in the tires which allows them to get rid of the rocks and dont get stuck in the tread. Wear is also perfect. Would recommend this tire to anyone that needs them.

by:

Absolutely great packaging and shipping. Quick turn around from order to receipt. Now there is one more item that I can add to my list to purchase from your company. Thank you so much.

Still a wonderful set of tires. I will definitely reorder when these get to that worn out period.

by:

I give a 5 star rating to etrailer as they never disappoint. I'm hoping these 4 tires that go on my camper will do the same. I was pleased them as the original camper tire.

In the past year we have traveled from Virginia to Nova Scotia and back. And also from Virginia to Florida and back. The tires still look brand new. Thus, very pleased!

Heard about E-Trailer from JD with BigTruckBigRV (youtube).
Absolutely flawless execution of order, delivery, update information, tracking etc.

Could not be happier got them mounted to day and they are awesome.
Thank you.

by:

When a nail punctured the sidewall of my trailer tire I found myself in need of a quick replacement. With no local business able to provide an exact replacement, a web search quickly yielded information about etrailer and their quality of service. After ordering, I had the tire in a very short time and I’m back on the road! Great support, and always kept informed that my order had been placed, shipped, and delivered. Can’t ask for much more than that.

I checked with the “Big Tire Companies such as Les Schwab, and Americas Tires and I had no luck. They said that they couldn’t get the same tire that I needed. I called e trailer and they knew exactly what I needed. I paid for it and a couple of days later I received exactly what I needed. Super People,Super Store,
Super Service. I have will be back for more items.

by:

Very good service.

by:

Showed up fast! Days earlier than expected. Definitely the turn-to company for trailer tires

by:

I give one star because I can't give 0!
I've
had nothing but trouble. Two of four of these tires have delaminated causing over five thousand dollars in damages to my 2019 Grand Design 21g. I have used a tire pressure monitoring system since day one. Always running the recommended 80 psi cold. I removed all of these tires "China Bombs " and threw them away. I replaced them with Goodyear Endurance. I'm just one of many victims of these tires. Do your homework! You will find many people with the same problems. My tires had less than 9000 miles when they just exploded. I am a very careful driver and there is nothing I could have done to contribute to the tire failures. Note the two failures were more than a month apart. On opposite sides of the camper.

by:

In stock, exact match for my Aluma trailer and terrific customer service

by:

Made in China has a connotation of poor quality at best, most of the time junk.
These Westlake tires are made in China however to the contrary they are top-quality.
Don’t hesitate in using these as replacement!
Plus buy them from etrailer.com, for first class service, call and asked for Chris W!!

Thank you

by:

Fast delivery and the exact part I orde red.

by:

Westlake trailer tires have always given me good service and etrailer was fast and received the right tire in good shape

by:

Unfortunately we had 2 blowouts with these Westlake tires in August 2021. 1 of them was less that a year old with maybe 1,000 miles on it. After the 2nd blowout which caused significant damage to the travel trailer, we replace all Westlakes with another brand.

by:

Awesome fast service at a reasonable pr ice

by:

I caught a nail in one of my tires close to the outside tread making it necessary to replace the tire. I replaced the bad tire with factory supplied Westlake tire. The original tires have about 3,500 miles on them and are wearing well.

by:

purchased with white rims to match....has been a good purchase and received some valued input from e-trailer. (needed better load range tires but needed rims to match my bolt pattern). Tires seem to be of high quality.

by:

I received this replacement tire very quickly after it was back in stock.

  • Recommended Tires For Tandem Axle Trailer W/ Combined 10000lb Rating To Replace 7.00-15 Tires
We have exactly what you need. To replace the 7.00-15 tires on your tandem axle trailer with ones that have a combined load rating of 10000lbs then I recommend going with the Provider ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range E # TR225LRE. This tire has a load rating of 2830lbs at 80 PSI so with 4 tires you will have a combined rating of 11320lbs, and will be very close in size to your 7.00-15 tires so the same wheels can be reused. One thing to keep in mind is while this tire has...

It sure will! A 225/75-15 tire will fit on a wheel that's 5, 6, 6-1/2, or 7 inches wide. I've linked to the 225/75-15 load range C, D and E tires we offer.

Thanks for the photo and it is a great idea to replace your Shasta's 225/75-15 car tires with trailer tires that are size 205/75-15, which will be 1.2" smaller in diameter and 0.8" narrower. It will look great on your trailer and not too small as they are very close in size. For trailer tires that are 205/75-15 and have the right load capacity I recommend the Westlake ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range D # LHWL300 because they have a deep 10/32" tread for continually great traction...

  • When do Trailer Tires Typically Need to Get Replaced
Trailer tires actually don't typically wear out before they need to get replaced. Typically they get too old and that's when it's time to replace them. Most trailer tires get 4-6 years of life from date of manufacturer before they start dry-rotting and becoming unsafe. Your situation where the tires have plenty of miles and tread left on them is not unusual at all.
