Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Product was shipped and arrived quickly. Wheel appears to be good quality and made of heavy steel. Ordered for spare tire on a dump trailer and was looking for a heavy duty wheel.

Items came quickly once in stock. I asked for them separately but would have lost the free shipping...good looking out! Went from old Christmas tree farm trailer to camp hauler. The updated hubs and rims were the last piece. Great customer service!

Great products at great prices. Fast sh ipping.

Bought rim for a spare

So the holes for the valve stems were too small for these valve stems. I have had to purchase others that do fit. Can I return the ones that I bought to you?

Etrailer Expert

Jenny N.

Those valve stems are meant to be used with tires that would have a PSI of over 100. The valve stems that would work for you would be part # AM20903 that works with tires up to 65 PSI or part # AM20904 that works with tires up to 80 PSI.

Replacing leaking cheap Chinese rims with American made rims. Steel itself is different

They look like a well built wheel with a nice finish. I wish they came with .625" Dia. Valve stem holes instead of the .453" Dia.
I am mounting 14 ply tires that require 95 psi operating pressure.
The 100psi valve stems required the .625" hole. Must of missed that in the specs or it wasn't there.
Anyway, not a big deal.
I used a cone drill that had a .625" Dia. and drilled them out, thoroughly deburred both sides, installed what I had, mounted the tires and pumped them up to 100psi. They are holding fine. I was concerned the existing hole was so close to a radius, but they sealed fine.
I test mounted one to trailer to check fit and runout. It looks great.
I had silver rims prior and they were getting rusty and leaking in the weld seams.
I will update after a couple months of use.

Made in USA! I'm impressed with the delivery time, fast.

My initial experience was not good because the five wheels I ordered were packaged poorly and got scratched up and dented during shipment. The commercial style staples that were holding pieces of cardboard to separate multiple wheels came loose and the wheels shifted around inside the boxes. Unfortunately I was in a time crunch because I was changing out the axles on my toy hauler and already had tires so I really needed the wheels so I had to keep them. I talked to Kevin at etrailer and sent in pictures and they knocked off I think 10 or 15 percent which was better than nothing. Now for the positives, wheels still look great and I am completely satisfied with the way they have held up. Even though this wasn't a great purchase I have ordered stuff from etrailer before and never had any problems. I would definitely order again from etrailer because they do have good customer service!

This is my second order with etrailer and everything in the ordering and delivery process was simple and smoothe. I will continue doing business with etrailer for all my trailer needs.

When I had the tires mounted I told the guy to Balance the rims as well. He told me you don't need to balance trailer wheels. I said balance them anyway. When I picked up the rims he told me all the rims had a wobble but they all zeroed out with the weights. I guess you get what you pay for. Thought the quality would be better being made in the USA

I ordered this wheel to use as a second spare for my travel trailer. The existing spare was made in China and I even though etrailer had a matching Chinese made wheel I decided to spend a few dollars more for this as it is made in America. My existing Chinese made wheel has markings stamped on the inside of the rim noting date of mfg., size, and max load. This wheel has nothing stamped into the rim and only a paper sticker on the front with the load rating and nothing else. Someone should tell Dexstar to stamp their wheels.

etrailer is always very easy to order from as well as quick and efficient getting products delivered. These wheels were no exception. Good finish an match to the others on my fifth wheel. I would highly recommended them and always check with etrailer for my future needs.

Great product. Ordered Sunday night was shipped out early Monday AM. etrailer has a great order tracking system that gave me great information. The two rims arrived in great condition in heavy duty packing. They will be mounted on two new tires tomorrow.

As usual quality products, competitive price, and prompt delivery.

Arrived quickly and perfect...look great on my cargo trailer

Only received two of the four wheels ordered. Took weeks to ship with product showing to be in stock.

Slow service for delivery when product is in stock.

Great, only issue was long wait time to ship even when it was in stock.

Overall not a bad wheel at all. For the price I definitely can’t complain. I don’t have them currently mounted up but I see no reason for fitment issues. Using to replace OEM steel wheel and tire package.

Perfect, low-cost solution for a trailer spare tire.

Was an emergency repair for an out-of-state customer. Never heard back, and everything seemed to go well...

Item as described. etrailer shipped my order quickly.

Nice wheel. Got it to match as a spare for a new trailer. Black in this style is a little tough to find.

Rims were delivered as expected and they look great

Good service great products

  • Will Trailer Tire With Larger Capacity Fit 2,830 lb Capacity of Dexstar Trailer Wheel AM20560
So with this question you're asking a couple different things (so please bear with me because there isn't a direct yes/no answer). The first thing to note is that the tires you ordered from one of our competitors has a load rating of more than 3,000 lbs, but the Dexstar Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel - 15" x 6" Rim - 6 on 5-1/2 - Black # AM20560 has a 2,830 lbs capacity and you always have to go by the lowest-rated capacity. That means this tire and wheel combo will have a 2,830 lbs capacity...

  • Which Valve Stem and Wheel Center Cap for Dexstar AM20560 Black Steel Mini Mod 15 x 6 Trailer Rim
The Dexstar # AM20560 has a valve stem hole that measures .453 of an inch. For a valve stem, I'd recommend part # AM20906. The valve stem can handle up to 200 psi. We don't offer a center cap in black, unfortunately. I'd recommend using the stainless steel # AM90077 center cap from Americana. The stainless construction will ensure that the center cap looks good and will be protected from corrosion for a long time. The center cap is actually more shiny that what's seen in the product photos,...

  • Availability of 14 Inch Trailer Wheel with 6 on 5-1/2 Inch Bolt Pattern
None of the 14 inch wheels we offer are compatible with a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern. To find a wheel with that bolt pattern, you'll need to go with a 15 inch wheel like the Dexstar Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel - 15" x 6" Rim - 6 on 5-1/2 - Black # AM20560.

  • Are 5 or 6 Inch Wheels Better for 205/75-15 Size Tires
A 205/75-15 size tire can actually fit on a wheel from 5 to 6-1/2 inches wide. With that being said, it's generally better to go with the thinnest wheel your tire fits on because that puts the weight on the wheel in the most vertical position so a 5 inch is marginally better than a 6 inch for your tires. Another thing to make note of is your bolt pattern. All of our 15 inch wheels that have a 6-lug bolt pattern are 6 inches wide. If you have a 5-lug, most likely a 5 on 4-1/2 pattern, then...

  • Is It Okay for Tires to Crack at Sidewall and Tread
Usually when we see cracking around the sidewall of a trailer tire it means it is starting to dry rot and needs to be replaced with a new tire, like the Westlake 235/80R16 # WE76FR. Tires have a lifespan of 3-6 years or 10,000-12,000 miles, whichever comes first. If you have excellent driving habits and take good care of your tires especially when they are in storage then they are prone to lasting longer. If you're prone to bumping into/running over curbs and you don't store your tires...

Each of these wheels have the 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern you are looking for, and a load rating of 2860lbs which matches the load rating of a 225/75R15 Load Range E tire like the # LHWL304. • Idler Hub So That I Can Use 5x5.5 Bolt Pattern Jeep Wheels on My Off-Road Trailer
The lug studs on the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-555-35-K are 1/2" studs, which should match the studs used on your Jeep wheels. From what it sounds like, you're trying to replace the hubs on a trailer to use the wheels from a Jeep? While the studs may match up, the wheel offset is going to potentially cause a problem. You'll need to make sure you have enough space between the hub face and the frame to use the negative offset that vehicle wheels come with. You might be best served...

  • Replacement Axle Recommendation for a 2022 R-Pod RP-153
I'm surprised they put a 3,500 lb axle on your 2022 R-Pod RP-153 so I definitely share your concerns about the safety of the whole thing. Generally they count the tongue weight as taking on some of the total weight of the trailer, and while this is true, you definitely have to have an axle that's closer to handling your GVWR of 4,730 lbs (when you add the unloaded weight and cargo capacity together). Torsion axles installed at the factory won't have a lift so to add a 2" lift to your R-Pod...
