This tire-and-wheel assembly comes with complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your RV or trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change the flat for you. You can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year from anywhere in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico.
This tire has a 1-year No Excuses Guarantee. If within the first 12 months the tire is damaged in any way that's not covered by warranty, it will be replaced at no charge. You will also be compensated a flat labor rate for the cost of mounting the replacement tire.
The NitroFill inflation process filters out oxygen to ensure that this tire-and-wheel assembly is filled with 95 to 99.9 percent pure nitrogen. Nitrogen-inflated tires maintain pressure better than tires inflated with standard air. This makes them ideal for RVs and trailers that are driven infrequently or sit in storage for long periods of time. Other benefits of consistent tire pressure are better fuel economy, improved braking and handling, decreased chance of tire failure, and longer tire life.
A tire inflated with standard air, which contains oxygen, is prone to fluctuations in pressure due to loss of air over time and ambient temperature changes. Nitrogen-inflated tires don't experience these fluctuations for a couple reasons. First, nitrogen molecules are larger than oxygen molecules, so they are less likely to permeate a rubber tire. Second, nitrogen is a dry gas, so it won't allow condensation to build inside the tire. A tire inflated with standard air may have moisture in it, which means it is more likely to be affected by ambient temperature.
In addition, the moisture that can collect in a tire inflated with standard air will contribute to corrosion of the wheel and deterioration of the rubber tire from the inside out. A nitrogen-inflated tire-and-wheel assembly is less likely to experience this type of decay. Less moisture in the tire also means reduced running temperatures.
If necessary, you can top off the tire with standard compressed air. But to maintain the benefits of nitrogen, the tire must be refilled with nitrogen.
This aluminum wheel comes with steel inserts in the lug nut wells. The inserts are pressed into the aluminum, and they help prevent the holes from wearing down over time. This ensures that the wheel stays secured to your trailer hub and that you won't have to constantly retorque the lug nuts.
This radial ply tire from Westlake is constructed with double steel belts and double polyester cords for increased durability. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation.
The standard tread on this tire has solid, continuous ribs, and there are very few sipes (or thin grooves) cut into the rubber. This tire is designed for use on trailers, so it doesn't require the level of traction that would be needed on a vehicle that is braking or steering.
Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Westlake ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire in a Load Range E on this 15 inch Gray Liger Aluminum Wheel with the 6 on 5 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now, this tire wheel assembly is ideal for RVs, campers, and trailers. This is a nitrogen filled tire, which will maintain your tire pressure longer than just standard air, helps prolong the life of the tire and the wheel, and the way you can tell it is nitrogen filled is if you look at the valve stem right here, you'll notice it has a green cap on it, that green cap does indicates this is a nitrogen filled tire. Now, the wheel it's mounted on is an aluminum wheel, it's very durable, lightweight, and rustproof. This one is the Liger Series, which is a six spoke design, and this is in gunmetal gray with a nice machine face on the edge of the spokes and even on the lip, and they do use an automotive-grade clear coat finish on the front to protect the wheel from any scuffs and scratches.
I wanna zoom in and talk about the lug nut wells. If you notice in the lug nut wells where your lug nuts go, they actually use steel inserts in here to help keep the wheel securely in place on your trailer hub. This prevents those holes from elongating or wearing down, eliminates the need for constant re-tightening of the lug nuts. Now, the tire that's mounted on this wheel is a Westlake Radial Tire, it is constructed with double steel belts, double nylon plies, and they do use a nylon tread firming belt overlay to help prevent tread separation, and it is a radial ply tire, so it is great for highway use. This tire is an ST tire, which stands for special trailer tire, has a nice sturdy sidewalls, so that it can handle heavy loads.
It is created specifically for trailers, it's not intended for use on other vehicles. Now, this does come with a complimentary roadside assistance for two years, offers flat tire service available 24/7 anywhere in the US, Canada, or Puerto Rico, and the assembly does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation Specifications. The tire itself meets the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, and the wheel meets the SAE J1204 standards. Now, if you noticed, it does not come with a center cap, we do sell them separately if you do want one, what I would recommend is make sure the center cap you get has a diameter of 4.25 inches, that's this measurement here of the pilot hole, and this is where your center cap would slide through. Few specs on this, the wheel diameter is 15 inches, the width on just the wheel by itself is six inches wide.
Now, this wheel does have a bolt pattern of 6 on 5 1/2 inches, and if you wanna measure that on a wheel, that's an even number of lugs, like in this case, six. It's pretty easy, because the lug holes are directly across from each other, so just pick any one of the holes, let's say this one, and then you measure from the center of this hole directly across to the center of the hole right across from it, and it'll measure 5 1/2 inches, so this is a 6 on 5 1/2 inch pattern. Does use a wheel lug size of a 1/2 inch by 20, and the weight capacity on just the wheel is 2,830 pounds. Now, the tire size, which is stamped on the sidewall, ST for special trailer, 225/75R15, the R means that it is a radial tire. Section width, 8.8 inches, overall diameter from the bottom to the top when it's inflated is 28.3.
Now this tire is a Load Range E, which means it is a 10 ply rated tire, so it does have a maximum load capacity of 2,830 pounds at 80 psi, and the last thing I do wanna mention, most all the new trailer tires are coming through with a speed rating, and they stamp the speed rating on the sidewall, and they usually use a letter designation, and where you find that is right where we went through the size, right underneath it, you'll see it says speed rating L, L means 75 mile per hour speed rating. But that should do it for the review on this Westlake ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire in a Load Range E mounted on this 15 inch Gray Liger Aluminum Wheel with the 6 on 5 1/2 inch bolt pattern..

I haven’t driven more than about 10 feet on it yet, but it makes my other tires look like junk. I think I’ll be needing to order 3 more. I really like that it is prefilled with nitrogen. My trailer tires get low when it gets cold out and I always accidentally fill them to 35 Lbs because that’s what the pump is set to stop at, so being under inflated the side walls ended up getting wrecked. The nitrogen has so far not seemed to have contracted at all while my other tires are constantly needing to be topped up. The rim also looks much better than the stock trailer rims. I’ll update my review if necessary once the weather gets nicer and I start actually driving on the tire.
