Video Transcript for Comprehensive Review: Peterson Thin-Line Identification Light Bar

Today were going to take a look at Petersons Thin Line Red Identification Light Bar, part number 136-3R. This light is designed to mount on the surface of your truck or trailer using mounting holes that are 6 and 15/16th inches on center. The light is designed to indicate trailers or trucks that are over 80 inches wide. It is a single wire design meaning it will ground through the hardware used to attach the light bar, and you will get you power via the single wire lead. Next were going to hook the light bar up to a power supply so you can see how it looks.

Well clip our ground to the mounting bracket, and well connect our power wire lead to our supply. Next well turn off the overhead lights so you see how bright the light is. And thats it for Petersons Thin Line Red Identification Light Bar, part number 136-3R.

Still working after a year. I have a thing about keeping the trailer lights operational and this was another great part at a great price from etrailer. Thanks!!

by:

The items I ordered were to replace damaged lights I had on my trailer. The two items I ordered were exact matches and made the replacement of the broken ones quite easy, 10 minutes max.
Thanks !!

This product is excellent. It fits exactly where the previous bar was installed. All the holes match up and the single wire hook up took about 5 minutes. Parts selection at etrailer is fantastic and the service is excellent.

These are just what I wanted for my customers trailer. He is very pleased with the products and can't wait for me to get it all together so he can start using the trailer. What was on there before was total junk. Half worked and half didn't.

Is it possible to replace the Lens for this unit? I broke one of mine, and need to replace it, but not sure what the part would be if they are available separate.

The closest thing we have available is the A68RB lens from Optronics. It is for a light that is interchangeable with the Peterson M136R and that should be what is on your light bar. Double check with your light bar and see if you can find any markings that indidcate the model of each light. But the A68RB lens should fit.

  • Submersible Light Bar Recommendation for Trailer Lighting
I have a solution for you, but the Peterson Lightbar part # 136-3R that you referenced is not submersible. Instead check out the # MCL93RB which is a very similar light bar that is submersible.

  • Availability of Replacement Red Lenses for Light Bar On Utility Trailer
The closest individual light we have to the measurement you provided is the Optronics Oblong Trailer Clearance Light # MC68RB. This light measures 3-1/2 inches x 1-1/8 inches. However, the lens for this light is not reflective. The replacement lens for this light is part # A68RB. If you are looking to replace the entire light bar, you may like the Peterson Thin-Line Red Identification Light Bar # 136-3R. The lights on this light bar are comparable to the Optronics # MC68RB lights. These...

  • Requirements For Position Of Center 3 Light Bar
A 3 light bar like the Peterson Thin-Line Red Identification Light Bar # 136-3R does have height requirements of between 15 and 72 inches from the ground. If you are using them as rear clearance lights for the top of your trailer, then there is only the requirement of being the same height above the ground as other clearance lights and as high as possible on the trailer. I've attached an article on trailer lighting requirements to help.
