Today we're taking a look at a Peterson Identification Light Bar for trailers. Now this unit contains three red lights as you can see right here on the base. It does come with a bulb for each one so it comes with 3 193 incandescent bulbs that are replaceable. To replace them all you need to do is take a flat blade screwdriver, place it here in the clip, extend the clip out, and that will allow you to actually remove the lens from the base. And then you can remove each light as needed, so if it ever burns out you just take it and it removes right there from the base. You can place in your new one, again, type 193, that's the number printed on the actual bulb, and it just fits back into the housing.

So it's really nice, it's really easy to do, very easy to make your replacement when and if needed. And then the lens just simply pops back into place, that's all there is to it, really nice easy design when it comes to replacing those bulbs.But again it comes with 3 red lights each one does come with a 193 incandescent bulb, so those are included. Those sit on a white steel base, it has that nice white coating on it to resist rust and corrosion, mounts directly to the surface of your trailer so you have these mounting tabs on the end, one over here and one right here. It's a one wire design so this is your power wire and then it grounds through the mounting hardware. It is department of transportation compliant.

I did take a measurement of the overall length, so edge to edge gave us a measurement of 16 and 1/2 inches long. And then measuring edge to edge go in this direction it's about 1 and 1/16 inches, and the overall depth that's from the outermost point of the lens to the back of it, right here, back of the unit is about 1 and 7/16 of an inch to an inch and a 1/2. And then our mount holes on this unit are separated on center by 16 and 1/8 inches.We're going to go and hook it up to power that way you can see what it looks like with some power running to it. We'll also turn off our overhead lights so you can see in a low light setting. So you can see here that it sends out a nice consistent signal, again, this contains three incandescent bulbs and it has the red lens on it, so that's three red lights.
