Specs:
The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The housing and lens of each light are sonically sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light and damage the diodes or circuit board.

Today on our trailer we're going to be taking a look at the Optronics Identification Light Bar for trailers over 80" wide, part number MCL922RB. These lights are sonically sealed and waterproof so they are fully submersible. They're made out of polycarbonate, the lens and the housing. They last 50 times longer than an incandescent bulb, they're more efficient, brighter, and they take less power. There are no bulbs to replace and no brittle filaments to break. They are designed to be surface mounted, the hardware is not included.
Comes with a 2 wire pig tail, and they are DOT compliant. The light is 14-7/8" long, 1-1/4" tall, by 1" deep. It has 3 3/4" diameter red LEDs which is designed for trailers that are wider than 80" wide. To begin our installation, we've removed the old 1 already and we have our wires sticking through. This comes with a nice long pig tail, but we're not going to need all that length so we're going to go ahead and just cut them off, then we'll strip back our wires, then we'll push them back through the hole. It does come with 2 pre-drilled holes, but it does not come with the hardware so you can either use a self tapping screw, or in our case, we're going to use 2 machine screws, and nuts, and lock washers.
Just place it through the hole, our lock washer, then our nut, and we'll repeat that on the other side. Then we'll take a pair of pliers, hold the backside, and we'll snug them up. You want to be careful you don't over tighten them because you can crack the light, it's plastic. We'll go ahead and attach our white to white. Strip them back. We're going to use some heat shrink butt connectors that are available on our website, part number DW05744-10.
Crimp our white to white. Strip back our brown wire, which is our taillight, running light, and the black wire from our lamp. Butt connector on that one. Now we can heat them up. Going to help you seal out any kind of moisture and corrosion.
Now we'll tie up our wires, snip off the excess. That's going to do it for our look at and install of the Optronics Identification Light Bar for trailers over 80" wide, part number MCL922RB.
Easy to install works and looks great!
