Timbren Trailer Axles - ASR3500S06

Highlights

  • 3,500-lb Capacity: Carries mid-size trailers while keeping handling smooth and stable.
  • 4" Lift Spindle: Raises trailer deck height for better ground and driveway clearance.
  • Axle-Less Design: Eliminates the cross-axle beam for maximum under-trailer clearance.
  • Rubber Jounce & Rebound Springs: Absorb road shock and reduce sway, rattle, and bounce.
  • Independent Suspension: Each side moves on its own for a quieter, more balanced tow.
  • E-Z Lube Spindles w/ 4-Bolt Brake Flange: Simplifies bearing service and brake hookup.

Features to know about

More Clearance, More Confidence: 4" Lift Spindle Raises the Deck

Rough approaches and uneven terrain are no longer a problem with the built-in 4" lift spindle. The Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension raises deck height for extra ground clearance, giving room for plumbing and frame components when towing over rough roads or steep driveways. Eliminating the thru-axle keeps the underbody clear and improves approach angles so you can pull through dips and ruts without scraping.

Smoother Ride on Any Road: AEON Rubber Jounce and Rebound Springs

Every bump and pothole sends shock through your trailer—unless the suspension fights back. The integrated AEON hollow rubber jounce springs absorb the hit while the rebound springs control body roll and bounce. Together they soak up vibration and keep cargo steady, whether the trailer is empty or fully loaded. The setup delivers stable, quiet travel with 1-3/4" of suspension travel and a total weight capacity of 3,500 lbs.

Independent Action for Sure-Footed Handling: Axle-Less Design Works on Its Own

Instead of a single beam connecting both sides, each side of this suspension works independently. One wheel can move over a bump without affecting the other, keeping the trailer level and tracking true through turns and rough ground. Built-in camber and toe-in help reduce tire wear, and the design fits any trailer frame width so there’s no worry about ordering a specific axle length.

Simple Maintenance and Strong Build: E-Z Lube Spindle and Steel Construction

The E-Z Lube spindle makes bearing care quick—just attach a grease gun to the built-in zerk and go. If a spindle ever gets damaged, it can be replaced without changing the whole suspension. Heavy-gauge steel parts with a black powder-coat finish resist rust and corrosion, while the 4-bolt brake flange and 1/2" bolt holes give a solid mounting point for standard hubs and brake components.

Solid Support for DIY Builds: Bolt-On Installation with Crossbeam Option

Each unit bolts directly to the trailer frame using Grade 8, 1/2" hardware (not included). If the frame lacks a crossmember, a 2" x 2" steel tube can run through the built-in square holes to keep the frame square and strong. The system replaces one complete axle and suspension, giving builders and restorers a clean, straightforward way to upgrade ride quality and ground clearance in a single step.

  • Jounce spring: Supports the weight of your trailer and cargo. It easily absorbs road shock and is constructed of AEON heavy-duty, hollow rubber.
  • Rebound spring: Delivers a smooth, stable ride - regardless of how much cargo is on the trailer. It controls the movement of the jounce spring to minimize trailer body roll, bounce, rattle, and bottoming out.
  • Trailing arm with integrated hanger: Attaches the suspension to the side and bottom of the trailer frame.
  • Control arm: Carries the spindle and the hub. It pivots on strong, long-lasting polyurethane bushings that never require lubrication.
  • E-Z Lube, 4" lift spindle: Simple to grease. If damaged, it can be removed and replaced, saving you both time and money compared to a traditional axle.
  • Built-in hole: Accepts 2" x 2" steel tubing (not included) to add support to your trailer's frame. The tubing sits higher than a trailer axle, providing additional ground clearance.

Best axle system for overland trailers and their travels, great independence system for those 1-6 trail ratings, simple to work on , easy bolt on system. I would recommend to grease after each trip . The standard Duty -4" Drop- 4Bolt Flange- 3500 lbs give me about 21" clearance with 35" x 12.5 tires

Great

by:

works great, only had one discrepancy, on a long trip part of the rubber on one side of the trailer worked its way out, it was repaired and hasn't given us any other problems.

by:

Only been driving around on the axle-less system for about a week now and it has far exceeded expectations. I get better gas mileage, my trailer now sits like it was intended to, my trailer doesn't bounce like it used to, I wouldn't trade this axle system for any other. Just wish I would have known which outboard assembly arm my trailer needed with the axle-less system before I placed my order. Still not a problem though, plan on using the wrong outboard arm to build a different trailer. So far, a great product!

by:

Came late. Not e-trailers fault. Covid-19 and China's fault. They bolted right up on my trailer frame. Really like the way they make my tear drip trailer handle. No sway, no bouncing all over like it use to. Will always put these under any trailer I build from now on. E-trailer keep up the great work.

by:

These are going on a single axle trailer. They appear to be heavy duty and well made. The shipping was quick.

by:

Best suspension you can get for off-road trailers. We use this suspension on all of our VORSHEER XER trailers.

by:

A must have suspension if you're building an off-road trailer!

Its been a year and this suspension is still doing great!

by:

We use Timbren's ASR3500S06 on all of our XER trailers. We couldn't be happier. It is a well built suspension.

by:

The trailer rides great down the road and no more worries about saltwater and rusty leaf springs. Not a cheap option but I’m very happy with the setup. When installing, just be sure to measure accurately and have sharp drill bits. A drill press type of guide also helps ensure correct drilling angles. The first picture is of a mounting gusset a local welding shop made. One is needed for each side and necessary to provide needed mounting strength-at least on my trailer frame. Pics 2 and 3 show the mounted suspension on one side of the trailer. Pic 4 shows the suspension on one side of the trailer with the axle attached and a separately purchased disc brake assembly mounted on it. Finally, pic 5 shows a 2” box channel between both suspension assemblies. Independent suspensions would have been nice, but I wanted to ensure trailer rigidity was maintained. So, after one year, so far, so good. It’s all smooth sailing down the highway.

  • Timbren Axle-Less Suspension System Compatibility with Aluminum I-Beam Trailer Frame
The Timbren Heavy-Duty Axle-Less Trailer Suspension - 4" Lift Spindle - Off-Road Tires - 3,500 lbs # ASR35HDS02 is compatible with I-beam frames and in tandem axle configuration. Due to the Aluminum frame, I recommend putting a thin rubber pad between the steel mount and the aluminum I-beam. The powder coat on the steel should keep the two dissimilar metals from galvanic corrosion, but a thin rubber pad would drastically increase this safety. Zinc plated hardware will work well with...

  • Can A Torsion Axle Be Replaced With A Timbren Axle-Less Suspension
Hi Brett, You could replace your torsion axle with the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension # ASR3500S06, but you'll first want to confirm your trailer's GVWR and remove the lift spacers. These are rated for 3,500lbs so you'll want to be careful not to overload them if your fully loaded trailer exceeds that rating. Do you know the axle capacity of the torsion axle? These need to be bolted directly to the trailer frame and since they have a 4" lift you'll still be close the the same height....
