  As far as what position they occupy in the bulb, I couldn't say. Dual filament bulbs like the # DI79VR have two different filaments. One filament is of a different resistance value, and thus makes a brighter light. but the brake and turn signal filament would be the brighter of the two. From what you describe, it certainly sounds as if you have the brake/turn signal and running lamp wire reversed.

• How to Replace Bulb in Wesbar 403075 Trailer Taillight
  I've put in a request to have the video reshot, but in the meantime changing the bulb is very easy. Simply remove the Phillips screw from the underside of the lamp assembly. Once the screw is removed, you can gently pry the clear plastic cover off which will provide access to the bulb (see the provided photo). Push in on the bulb and give it a twist, then pull it free. The replacement bulb is an 1157 which we sell as part # DI79VR.

However, removing the cover to gain access to the bulb will damage this seal and the light will no longer be waterproof, so I do advise replacing the entire light if the bulb has gone out. If you do choose to just replace the bulb and break the waterproof seal, I spoke to Peterson and the bulb that fits this light will be the 1157 style bulbs, like the Diamond # DI79VR.

• No Right Side Trailer Brake Light on Trailer but Turn Signal Works
  The stop and turn signal circuits are run on the same wire for most trailer's. Therefore, if the turn signal works but not the stop light or vice versa then the issue is likely the bulb. If you pop the cover off your taillight so should be able to see the bulb and inspect the filament. If either of the filaments are broken the bulb will need to be replaced.
