Thoroughly Tested for Safety

This hub-and-drum assembly meets the requirements for certification by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). The CSA creates standards, which when complied with ensure a safe and quality product. This assembly underwent extensive testing to measure stopping distances when braking. This assembly has also been tested by QAI for braking performance in a complete automotive setup and under real-world conditions to provide the most realistic scenario for the everyday driver.

E-Z Lube and Easy Grease-Compatible Assembly for Simple Lubrication

The grease cap on this hub-and-drum assembly is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube or etrailer Easy Grease axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

  • What Kind of Grease is Used in Your Pre-Greased Hubs? What Kind Can I Use?
Hello Chris, The grease that is used to pre-grease our hubs is a lithium based grease. They come pre-greased from AxleTek. With that being said, if you are looking to add more grease it doesn't need to be brand specific. What we use here in our shop in Missouri is the # L11315, or for industrial strength "The Red Stuff" # L11390. Either of them, will get the job done. Happy New Year! May 2025 be your best year yet! From, your friends here at etrailer.

  • Availability of 8 on 6-1/2 Hub and Drum Assemblies for the Timbren Axle-Less Suspension ASR35HDS02
We do have some hub and drum assemblies that you can use with the Timbren Heavy-Duty Axle-Less Trailer Suspension # ASR35HDS02 which have an 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern. Our Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-865-7-2-EZ-K has a 12" diameter and comes with the needed bearings and grease cap for your application. It does come with a grease seal, but you will need to use part # GS-2125DL (Qty 1) or part # RG06-090 (Qty 2) for the correct seal for the smaller spindle. If you don't already...

  • What Hubs and Brakes do I Need for My 2016 Keystone Alpine 5th Wheel with Tandem Axles?
Hello James, We definitely have the parts you need, but I do not have a database that supplies me with what is put on what trailer. Life would be a little sweeter if such a list existed. Based on my research the axle capacity on the 2016 Keystone Alpine can vary on what floor plan you have. The 7K axles are the most common, so that is what I am going with (you will want to check your axle tag to confirm that is what they are rated for). For brakes you will want (2) sets of our etrailer...

  • Hubs and Brakes for 5,200 lb Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension
Hey Anthony! I would be happy to put that together for you. The Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension # TASR5200S03 is the 5,200 lb version with a 4" lift. For trailer brakes you can use the etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes # AKEBRK-7-SA along with # BRKH12 for installation. What kind of wheels do you have? Assuming you want a 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern you can use the Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-655-6-EZ-K. If you want an 8 on 6-1/2 bolt pattern you need the # AKHD-865-7-2-EZ-K...

  • Replacement Bearings and Seals for Dexter Axle on 90's Trailer
Hey Grae; that doesn't seem to be a complete serial number so I won't be able to identify it with that information. I would pull the existing hubs and see if the bearing numbers are stamped into the sides of the bearings to try and identify it. 5,200-7k axles are all capable of using the same bearings since the ID of the bearings found on them are all the same so the hub itself would be a bigger concern. The grease seal will either have an ID of 2.125" or 2.25". If part numbers aren't...

  • Looking For Replacement For TDE 46310A Torsion Hub
Hello Walter, thanks for reaching out. We may have a hub that will work for you, but I was not able to find any references for the part number you provided, so more information is needed. Your best bet will be to pull a hub and remove the bearings. Each bearing should have a number stamped on the edge, or you can measure the ID with a caliper. Also measure the ID of your seal, and check the hub bolt pattern. If you can provide me with all that info, I am happy to look into it and see...

  • Will 8 On 8 Inch Hub Work With Timbren Axle-Less Suspension System
Unfortunately, the Trailer Hub Item # AH60880FCOMP will not fit the spindles of the Timbren Axle-less Suspension System, Item # TASR7KS02. Like you pointed out, this is the only 8 on 8 inch hub option we have for you. We do have other hub options that would fit the Timbren Axle-less Suspension System, Item # TASR7KS02, like Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly, Item # AKHD-865-7-2-EZ-K, but they are 8 on 6-1/2. Please let me know if I can help you with any other questions.

  • Recommended Hubs And Brakes For A Lippert 7,000 lb Axle
Hello Chad. The Lippert 7,000 lb axles use standard sizing for all the bearings, hubs and brakes making them all pretty simple to replace. For a hub assembly I recommend the Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum for 5.2K to 7K Axles # AKHD-865-7-G-EZ-K. This is a galvanized steel hub with a 12" drum and an 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern, all of which are standard for the 7K axles. This hub comes with bearings, seals, races, lug nuts and a grease cap. For your brake assemblies I recommend the TruRyde...

  • Looking For Hubs For 1.25" Straight Spindle On 1941 Power Company Trailer
Hello Steven, thanks for reaching out. We do offer a few bearings with a 1.25" ID but sadly there are no hubs made for a 1.25" straight spindle. A lot of older trailers use bearing combinations or hubs that are now obsolete, and it sounds like this is the case with you 1941 power company trailer. It is just too old and you will likely have a very hard time finding parts going forward. Replacing the spindles, or replacing the axle with something more standard would be the next thing we...

Hey Jason, thanks for reaching out! From what I can find, it does look like the etrailer Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-865-7-1-K will fit your 2024 Brinkley Z3100 5th wheel, but I recommend getting the kit # AKHD-865-7-2-EZ-K instead because it is the exact same thing, but it comes with both the standard and the EZ Lube spindle caps so you can ensure you get an exact match. I took a look at the information that Brinkley puts out on their trailers, and I wasn't able to find an exact...

  • Looking For Conversion Kit For Mobile Home Axle
Hello Constantin, thanks for reaching out. It might be possible to get a hub for your mobile home axle. Keep in mind that mobile home axels are not designed to be re used, and they typically do not use standard bearing combinations like most trailer axles. That said, I do not have a way to know what bearings your axles use, so you will need to provide some bearing numbers, or measure the part of the axle where the bearing and seal ride. Once we have that info we can look and see if any...

I do suggest you remove a hub and confirm this is what you have. If so, the hub you need is the following: - Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 5.2K - 7K Axles - 12" - 8 on 6.5 - Pre-Greased # AKHD-865-7-2-EZ-K This hub uses 1/2" studs. Hello Scott, thanks for reaching out. The etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes # AKEBRK-7-SA come with a left hand and right hand brake assembly. The brake drums are sold separately. Typically, the 7K brake assemblies would go with a 7K hub such as part # AKHD-865-7-2-EZ-K. This uses a # 25580 (1.75" inner diameter) inner bearing, a # 14125A (1.25" inner diameter) outer bearing and 2.25" ID seal. It has the 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern. • Are Trailer Brakes Similar To Vehicle Brakes?
Hey David, thanks for reaching out. There are two common kinds of brakes for trailers. Drum brakes can be either hydraulic or electric, or it would be a hydraulic disc brake setup. The hydraulic disc brakes would be the most similar to what you see on most vehicles. There are some kits that come with slip-on rotors like part # DE42FR, and the rotors could be removed without removing the idles hub and bearings. For trailer drum brakes, all of the drums will be one piece like part # AKHD-865-7-2-EZ-K....

Hey John! For lower capacity axles the hub and drum are going to come together.
