Thoroughly Tested for Safety

This hub-and-drum assembly meets the requirements for certification by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). The CSA creates standards, which when complied with ensure a safe and quality product. This assembly underwent extensive testing to measure stopping distances when braking. This assembly has also been tested by QAI for braking performance in a complete automotive setup and under real-world conditions to provide the most realistic scenario for the everyday driver.

E-Z Lube and Easy Grease-Compatible Assembly for Simple Lubrication

The grease cap on this hub-and-drum assembly is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube or etrailer Easy Grease axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Customer service and ordering was great, product great but how they're packaged did not survive. Missing 2 of 4 hub grease caps and 2 of 4 bent beyond use. I used the old caps

by:

axeltech brake drums seem to be sufficient. Although different from the OEM. Some of the issues where shipping. UPS damages every box from etrailer. So far anyways.

by:

Dimensions are different but may line ok. Grease cap damaged

by:

Bought 4 hubs for my trailer and every single box was destroyed and the dust/grease caps were all bent. 4/4 were so bent they were unusable. I had 4 spares I keep in the toolbox luckily or I would’ve been waiting for more parts. Hubs are great but packaging/delivery/dust caps very poor

by:

Although not as robust (heavy) as the original Dexter hub and drum it fit perfectly and the manufacturing quality was acceptable.
However, I suggest stronger packaging as the package the drum was delivered in was damaged, and fortunately the drum was not.

by:

They were a perfect fit on my 7000 lb Dexter axle. Liked that they came fully greased and ready to slide right on. Some of the dust covers were bent and unusable but the mix of new and old covers I got the job done. I would recommend them to anyone who has the proper axle fit. Will buy again when I need them again in the future.

by:

Excellent company to work with. As with previous orders, fast, FREE shipping is always appreciated.
Items arrived exactly as described, properly packaged, in unblemished condition.
All parts included for installation, WITH THE EXCEPTION of the cotter pins for the axle nut(s). Those are easily found at the local hardware store, but would have been nice to have new ones with the package of new parts. Definitely recommending your business to family and friends. Thanks again!!

by:

Nice to have the bearings packed and seal already in. The only thing is the drum looks to not be as heavily built as the Dexter drum that came off my 5th wheel! The new one does not have the cooling fins on the drum like the Dexter does! In time i will see if its as good as the Dexter!

by:

Bought these to save myself time by getting pre packed drums. When they arrived, I found several problems. They come with plastic caps to cover openings. The inside cap came off on all 4 and spread grease on the inside of all the drums. The outside cap came off on 2 allowing the outside bearing to come out and spread grease everywhere inside. The other two outside bearings were not packed.

Not happy with this purchase. Ended up spending an hour cleaning and packing bearings.

I have a few questions for you about the experience with the grease caps. What kind of spindles does your trailer have? This hub assembly comes with two different kinds of grease caps, one for regular spindles and one for EZ lube sprindles. The EZ lube spindles will have grease zerk fittings on the end of them. The grease cap to use with it will be the one with the black rubber center that you can remove to access the grease fitting. The regular spindle would use the solid grease cap that would then contain the grease. The grease caps, of course should not fall off, however it sounded like it was possible that the EZ lube grease cap was used with the regular spindle so I wanted to ask. I look forward to your reply.

I appreciate the explanation but I am not referring to the dust caps that are installed. I am talking about the shipping grease plugs they installed to prevent the greased bearings from coming out during shipping

My mistake! I read the review as having installed the hubs and then experienced the issues. I will have my Customer Service team reach out as yes, those PLUGS should also not come loose in shipping. I am sorry it was a mess to clean up.

So I have never used it because I bought it so I would have a spare in the event I broke down on the highway. As for the quality it’s as good as the major brand that is twice as expensive. I wouldn’t have a problem buying another one when I need it .

by:

Great parts, included all the hardware for easy installation. My wife had no problems at all putting these on my trailer.

by:

This was an absolute perfect fit. Gwen was amazing with her product knowledge and patience with me. I am a DIY'er and had no clue as to what I was looking at! Gwen walked me through step by step on how to make sure we had the correct product! This was an amazing experience! Thank you Gwen!!

I just did a 1300 mile trip and everything went smoothly with my drums and bearings

by:

Troy, the service rep that I dealt with on my most recent order from etrailer.com, did a fantastic job helping me identify the exact parts I needed to replace the wheel bearings and brake assemblies on my 40 foot Big Horn 5th Wheel. I believe the prices were very reasonable and the service was faster than I expected. Thanks Troy, and I'll definitely recommend etrailer.com as a super place to get your trailer repair parts and accessories.

All the products are working well!

by:

Excellent customer service and very knowledgeable associates. This was my second purchase from E trailer and shipped and arrived promptly.

by:

I put these hubs on my trailer with new brake assemblies.
Next working day approximately 15 miles my right rear wheel and tire go spinning off into the woods and I'm leaving a trail of sparks.
All five lugs had snapped off, wheel was gone forever and I had to unload my Bobcat,go put on one of the old hubs and the spare.
So I will
Not be purchasing again.

Everything in my order fit perfectly and got me on the road

by:

First step was the ordering, Talked to Steve and he was very well versed on what I needed. He gave me his direct line so after I got my bearing #’s and call back it took only minutes to finalize the order. I ordered on Wednesday and received everything on Friday. Wow, Great service. Doubled checked all the items and everything was perfect. Buying the assembly is the way to go. Very quick install. Great experience.

Installed 4 of these on my 5th Wheel RV along with Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting - 12" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 5.2K to 7K
Item # AKEBRK-7-SA. Better than original.

by:

These guys are great if you ask question or if you search for answers they are most likely posted here.

Brakes are working great no issues. ??

by:

Dexter brake drums are much heavier made and appear to be much higher quality. I bought these cheaper drums due to the cost difference, but I will not buy the cheap ones again for the application that I will be using. The trailer is a Toy Hauler and even though it is listed on the application for these drums, I prefer to have the best parts.

by:

5 star. Parts worked great, no issues and shipping was promptly

For hubs that have 1/2" studs, like the Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 5.2K - 7K Axles # AKHD-865-7-2-EZ-K you're looking at, you don't want to exceed 120 ft-lbs as that's the most torque this stud size can handle. Since you have 17-1/2" wheels I do recommend going all the way to 120 ft-lbs.
