Best hitch yet! I've purchased a few hitches from etrailer in the past, but this one is the best in design and price. Totally hidden, looks factory. And with the etrailer videos it make installation EASY. I did the install my self, I thought I would need a hand getting it in and holding it up. I used a large wire tie on the loop part of the hitch to hold it up and it worked like a charm. The etrailer for the videos, it not only makes it easy it also lets you know what you're in for before your purchase - thanks - much appreciated! 728959

Fairly easy installation for both hitch and wiring harness. I like that most of the hitch is hidden up behind bumper. 678742

Installation is definitely a two man job. Install video was a great help. Only thing wished had was a template that could put on fascia so you don't waste a lot of time trying to trim to get the right size. Using it for towing our 6x8 trailer and our 24x60 cargo carrier. 680462

Great receiver hitch. I love the way it tucks up under the vehicle and doesn't hang down being ugly. Easy to install, it went in exactly as described in your video. 690467

Product arrived in 2 days. I installed it by myself so it took about 90 min. I was in no rush. Definitely recommend using the dimensions in the video on etrailer website and not the ones in the paper instruction. Super easy..... super happy! Recommend this for anyone who does not want to pay dealer prices for product and intall. 679814

When pretty well on the install on my new 2019 Honda CRV. I did it by myself in 1 hour. I watched the video E-Trailer has on their web site. They show marking and cutting the plastic bottom valance 3 inches on center of the tow strap. I had trim about an 1/8 inch more on each side. I also took completely off the cover on the bottom of the tire well. It only took an additional few minutes to do, but it made it easier to get hitch in above the bumper cover being as I was by myself. 614436

Installed hitch in a couple of hours (took several breaks) in driveway with little trouble. Arrived shipment in two days, boxed up at front door. Every thing was perfect. 570504

I received the hitch and was able to install it with a buddy who helped with supporting it. It is heavy and two people is almost a must. But with good instructions and an included special spring wire made the bolt and nut connection easy. There were no dropped hardware pieces because of that and it made the installation much easier. I recommended the Curt hitch through etrailer to my friend (2017 CRV, AWD ) and he was very happy with his purchase as well. 692528

I had watched the videos and done the research but since I wasn't going to actually do the install I was concerned that the mechanic would get it done right and have all the information needed to do his part. My order arrived very smoothly and the mechanic installed it in 2 hours including the wiring harness. The reciever, hitch kit, wiring harness and other small stuff cost me around $250 and installation was $200. Compare that to the dealer at $1071. I have never seen a retailer website so generous with information like etrailer, the experience was a pleasure and I am likely to be back for accessories for my hitch. 576781

The hitch fit perfectly, and the instructions were very clear. The hardware fish wires that come with hitch are an excellent idea, and really aided with the installation. The only difficulty with the installation has nothing to do with the hitch. Be prepared to have some frustration with disconnecting and reconnecting the exhaust hangers. A little WD-40 really helped the rubber supports slip back into the posts. 604014

Once installed it looks good. Instructions were not precise in terms of sequence of steps and black/white pictures were difficult to read. This is my 3rd hitch through etrailer and was most difficult to install. Also, there is a slight interference with the spare wheel well to the hitch. 551313

Great hitch at a great price. This was my first hitch install and it went pretty smooth. 1.5 hrs from unboxing to having the garage cleaned up. If you consider yourself mechanically inclined whatsoever, you can do this job. First I simply used the Honda car jack that came with the CRV and got the rear end up on a couple jack stands. There are a handful of push pins that hold a cover over the spare tire as well as a couple nuts that came off easily. I then lowered the exhaust as shown in the how to videos. I have a 2018 CRV Touring so I have the hands free gate option. Honda does make a bracket to relocate the bracket which moves this sensor to the side of the hitch, but I never use it to begin with so I simply unplugged and removed. No lights were on on the dash telling me there was a problem. So I’m just going to leave it off for now. Looks like there is plenty of room with the hitch installed for the sensor to be easily relocated. I then trimmed the silver plastic on the bumper as noted in the instructions, but found out I needed to trim a little wider than the 3” noted in the instructions for everything to fit. Not much but more like 3.375”. The trimming noted on the spare tire cover worked perfectly. It was easy enough to get the bolts threaded into the frame with the supplied coiled wire bolt holders, I tighted everything up, cleaned everything up, and it looks great. There was a small scratch in the paint of the hitch near where it goes around the muffler, either from etrailer’s warehouse or from Curt that was down to the metal, but I just coated it with a little spray paint to stop any premature rusting. It’s a hitch right? They don’t have to be real pretty. The CRV is only rated to pull 1500lb even though this is a class 3 hitch, so it’s a bit overkill, but went with this hitch because it had a 2” receiver hole, and it’s cross tube is completely hidden in the CRV’s bumper like the 1-1/4” options. I’m going to use this to pull an occasional small trailer or a bike rack is all but there are so many more options for a 2” receiver than an 1-1/4” including hitch covers, steps, rear platforms, that sort of thing. Would recommend this hitch to ALL CRV owners. 557977

It fits like a glove, I did hire a mechanic to install it but he only charged me 60 bucks for his labor so it must have been as easy for him to install as they were explaining 745584

The was for a 2020 Honda CRV . The hitch arrived at 5:30 and it was on the car by 7:00 .I printed out the installation instructions on line so the car was all prepped . The trim was cut and mufflers we’re down and all the tools were ready before the hitch arrived . Service from Etrailer was great, fast shipping . 745522

I used car ramps to raise the rear of my 2019 CRV. Followed the provided video and all went smooth. However, it was best to get a friend to help position rack. Great Sturdy hitch. Arrived well boxed with hardware and instructions.. 745493

Hitch fit very well and looks good, for a hitch. Put on hitch by myself without raising car. More difficult than I thought it would be, but it worked out. Hardest part was getting tail pipe lowered. 720424

Hitch was shipped as promised and all items in excellent condition. Fits my 2019 Honda CRV perfectly. Free shipping and half the price I paid for my last Curt hitch through Auto Zone. I am very pleased! 713989

etrailer sales and post-sales support is outstanding. Curt gear is top notch. The video instructions are right on the money. I took about 1.25 hours, but I would plan on 2 hours (even though I am pretty experienced with mechanical / electrical kit, but not a professional). I used a few extra 2x12" planks to drive the back end-up up and extra 3" off the ground, enabling me to get my mechanic's creeper underneath. Rhino ramps would be good too. When fitting the hitch up in place onto the screws, it can get a bit fiddly, but I did it single handed. 693952

  • Comparing the 2 Trailer Hitches for a 2018 Honda CR-V
The biggest difference between the Draw-Tite # 76128, Curt # C13397, and etrailer # e98848 trailer hitches for your 2018 Honda CR-V is that the Draw-Tite has a visible cross tube once installed while the Curt and etrailer have a "hidden" design where only the receiver is visible (see comparison photo). The Curt and etrailer hitches have the exact same design and will install the same way but I recommend going with the etrailer hitch over the Curt option because it has a matte black finish...

  • Recommended Best Trailer Hitch Receiver When Comparing Options for 2019 Honda CR-V
The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76128 , the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13397, and the etrailer # e98848 are all very similar. They will install in the same location on your Honda frame but they are rated for different load capacities and both of these capacity ratings greatly surpass the manufacturer towing capacity outlined in your owners manual, so I don't recommend making that the determining factor. The Curt # C13397 or the etrailer # e98848 is my recommendation...

  • Do 2 Inch Trailer Hitches for 2017 Honda CR-V Interfere with Hands Free Tailgate
The Draw-Tite 2 inch receiver, part # 76128, is the better choice for your 2017 Honda CR-V because of your hands-free lift gate. The sensors are likely blocked right where the receiver opening is but if you put your foot to either side the gate will open. The Curt, part # C13397, on the other hand completely interferes with the sensors. However, you can obtain a sensor relocation kit from a Honda dealership to solve this problem if you prefer this hitch.

  • Recommended 2-Inch Class III Hitch for 2017 Honda CR-V
We offer 2-inch Class III aftermarket trailer hitches that will be much better for using a hitch-mount bike rack on your 2017 Honda CR-V than the light-duty Class I hitch currently installed. Class III hitches have higher weight ratings and in general will offer better compatibility with the range of hitch-mount accessory items available today. Of the two options we can offer, Curt # C13397 and Draw-Tite # 76128, I suggest the Draw-Tite since it has both a lower price and a higher weight...

  • Where is Hands-Free Liftgate Sensor Moved to When Installing Curt Trailer Hitch on 2018 Honda CR-V
When installing Curt Trailer Hitch # C13397 on your 2018 Honda CR-V you will need to contact your Honda dealer and get part 08U59-TLA-100A. The dealer, or another mechanic, will need to install this and it will be located just next to the center of the hitch, in the bumper. I have sent you a link to the instructions I found online. The other option is to install Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 76128 so you would not have to relocate the liftgate sensor; the trade-off is that this hitch does...

  • Fascia Trimming Needed to Install Curt Trailer Hitch on 2019 Honda CR-V
There is going to be a bit of trimming to the fascia of your 2019 Honda CR-V to install the Curt Trailer Hitch # C13397. As you can see by the accompanying cut out of the linked installation manual it is a small section that needs to be trimmed. The fascia trimming is needed because it allows most of the hitch to be hidden, as shown in the photo of it installed on a CR-V. This hitch is a bolt-on installation that will not require drilling into your 2019 CR-V's frame; it is a Class III,...

  • Parts Needed for Towing Trailer with Electric Brakes with 2017 Honda CRV AWD
First let's start with a hitch for your 2017 Honda CR-V. For that the Curt hitch part # C13397 would be a great option. It has plenty of capacity and has a 2 inch hitch size. You will need to start with a 4-way (if you do not have one). For that you would want the # 118741. • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2018 Honda CR-V and How to Retain Use of Hands Free Liftgate
For your 2018 Honda CR-V the Curt trailer hitch part # C13397 is the hitch I recommend as only the hitch opening will be visible under the rear bumper of the vehicle and because it has great towing capacities. What you'll need to do is remove the bumper shell, and move the sensor unit 7 inches to the right, as that is where it's installed if the Honda trailer hitch accessory is installed. I attached an install video for this hitch for you to check out as well.
