Question:

I have a 26 CR-V hybrid and when looking at trailer hitches all say excluding hybrid even when I make sure I have ed my car with the hybrid tag. could you please verify which is the correct hitch for my auto? I have a bike rack that fits a 2 receiver. Thanks

Hi Leroy,

Don't worry, we do have hitches for a 2026 Honda CR-V hybrid! There is a drop-down menu at the top of the screen when looking for a hitch for this vehicle. Since all the ones you saw said excluding hybrid, that option must have accidentally been selected.

For a Class III 2" hitch receiver for you, I recommend using the Curt Custom Trailer Hitch part # C13397. It is rated for up to 525lbs of tongue weight and 3,500lbs towing, which far exceeds the CR-V's capacities. Your 2026 Honda CR-V hybrid only has a capacity of 100lbs for tongue weight and 1,000lbs towing, so you'll want to make sure your bike rack and bikes don't exceed the vehicle's 100lbs tongue weight. Even though the hitch is rated for more, the limiting factor is the vehicle's frame/capacity.

What kind of bikes are you planning on hauling?

@JohnF Thank you for sharing with us! It's always great to hear from people with the same vehicle so others know what to expect for their installs as well :)

I bought the etrailer hit hitch for my 2024 Honda CRV. I’ve had it for a few years. I use it for my ebike rack all the time. I have not had a problem with it!
