Lighted Trailer Hitch For Carrying E-Bikes On A 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid

Updated 01/02/2026 | Published 12/30/2025

Question:

I have 2025 hybrid CRV. I do not want to pull anything, I want to use it with my one up bike rack and a 47 pound e-bike, total weight approximately 75 pounds. What is the best rack for me? I will pay to have it installed and also prefer a hitch that doesn’t feel like I have a load of brick in the back of my car. Thank you

Hi Deb!

There are quite a few hitches available for your 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid and I have the 2" receiver options (best size for what you are wanting) listed below with their corresponding weights.

Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13397 - 29.3 pounds
Trailer Mate Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # TMT34FR - 22.4 pounds
EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 306-X7345 - 38.6 pounds
B&W Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # BW97BR - 42.8 pounds
Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # DT79MR - 30.2 pounds
etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e98848 - 29.2 pounds

So with all that being said, the Trailer Mate # TMT34FR will be the lightest option. However, it is by far the hitch with the lowest capacities (1,500 towing and 150 tongue weight). It technically will cover what you need it to, but I would honestly go with the etrailer # e98848.

It is a bit heavier, but it has much better capacities (3,500 towing and 525 tongue weight capacity). Plus it's American made (the Trailer Mate, Curt, B&W, and EcoHitch are as well) and the matte black finish makes it blend in better than glossy finished hitches.

What kind of e-bikes do you have? 47 pounds is actually pretty light from what I have seen as of late.

Thanks for the info. I have an Electra loft go. It’s very light for an ebike

@DebS Those are pretty cool ebikes! Nice that they are lighter than so many options these days. I've had people ask about some that are over 100 pounds! Let me know if there is anything else I can help with!

Hi Deb, I own exactly the same vehicle…I think. . ‘Purchased the Draw Tite hitch 5 months ago, professionally installed. The install required a slight alteration to a plastic part of the bumper that extends underneath. It’s out of sight and no risk to my warranty. The hitch has had zero impact on my gas mileage, stance or drivability. (I have all wheel drive.) I can’t image the combined weight of your hitch and e-bike would cause any noteworthy impacts to your steering, acceleration, gas mileage, etc. I have only hauled a 600 lb motorcycle on a trailer with my 2025 CR-V hybrid touring vehicle. Hauling my bike on a trailer does impact gas mileage, stopping distance and acceleration. I hope this helps.
