Hi Adam!

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13397 will indeed fit your 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport model. As to the hands free liftgate sensor, that will also still work. However, the receiver tube for the hitch sits right where that sensor is located, so you will need to find the spot on either side of the receiver tube that will actuate it.

I've been doing this for over a decade and have never actually seen a hitch completely negate that sensor. It will take a little getting used to, but after a few times of doing it this way, it will become second nature.

What are you going to be using the hitch for once it's installed?

I have used this hitch to mount a two bike rack from RockyMounts. It is solid and works great. We have driven at least 4,000 miles with 2bikes on the rack. You can open the tailgate with the rack in place but not with the bikes on it. My 2024 CR-V Sport-L hybrid does not have the remote sensor for the gate lift.

I installed this hitch myself and was able to reconnect the sensor. Initially I didn't think it would fit, but it does. Just take your time. It goes work, but the sensor does not pick up my foot like it did before. Often I give up trying and use the key.
