Updated 06/02/2026 | Published 05/25/2026

Question:

I’m looking for a tow hitch for my 2026 Honda CRV hybrid. Not sure if hybrid hitch is different then non hybrid. Can you recommend a part number? Thank you.

Hi Dan!

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13397 you were looking at is the hitch I recommend for your 2026 Honda CR-V Hybrid. This will actually fit the Hybrid and Non-Hybrid models, so you are perfectly good to go with it!

If you are planning on doing this install yourself, I did include an install video we have for you to check out. It isn't a Hybrid model, but again, it will fit either option and installs the exact same way on both. One thing to note though, your foot activated liftgate sensor will me impacted when you install this hitch (and actually, any hitch). It won't negate the use of the foot sensor, but you will need to kick on either side of the receiver tube to get it to work. Will take a few times to get used to, but then it will be second nature.

What are you planning on using the hitch for once it's installed?

The install is very easy. I didn't have to lift the vehicle and used a floor jack to set it in place. The vehicle isn't rated to tow much so I recommend the small receiver instead. It looks better

@JoeV I don't disagree with the smaller 1-1/4" receiver looking better, but I do really think there are more options for accessories with the larger 2" options. What are you using your hitch for most of the time?

@LazerS I mainly use it for my bikes or a rack. You get adapters for those. Plus you should get adapter to raise it higher soup it doesn't drag from driveways a it sits too low.

@JoeV Adapters (the ones that change a 1-1/4" to 2" and/or raise the hitch up) cut the tongue weight of hitches in half, so I always recommend staying away from them whenever possible. They do work, I just don't recommend them very often.

Hey - can confirm. I bought this model for my 2025 CR-V hybrid and fit/function have been great. You do have to drop the exhaust to get the mount points in place, but it was about an hour job for me and a buddy with a luggage tie down and some soapy water.
