Hidden Trailer Hitch For A 2026 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport- L

Updated 04/11/2026 | Published 04/04/2026

Question:

What is the part number of the Curt trailer hitch 2 or the one that u recommend for the 2026 Honda CRV Hybrid Sport-l? Thanks in advance. I will mainly be using for Bike rack, but prefer One that doesnt show much, like the C13397, that says it doesnt fit Hybrid.

Hi Jerry!

For your 2026 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport- L, I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e98848.

This is very similar to the Curt # C13397 you found (which actually will also fit the Hybrid models as well as the non hybrid models), but this has a matte black finish. The Curt has a glossy finish so it does tend to stand out a little more and I think the matte finish on our hitches helps to hide it even more than it already is. Like the Curt, ours is also American made, which is just another plus.

What kind of bikes are you going to be carrying? And do you already have a bike rack?

The e98848 looks great in picture. I will be going with it for my 2" one up bike rack. Thanks for recommendation.

Jerry, I installed the e98848 on our new 2026 CR-V Hybrid last September. We needed it quickly since we were heading out on a road-trip and wanted to take our e-bikes. Honda would only install the smaller receiver with a max tongue capacity of 100 lbs. We have 2 Gazelle bikes weighing around 100 lbs, and our carrier adds another 50 or so. I installed several hitches (all purchased from e-Trailer), but decided to have this one installed ‘professionally’ and was able to use e-Trailers link to find a local installer. It has carried the bikes around 10,000 miles up and down the east coast from Maine to Florida from our home in Ohio with no problems! The only issue I have is with the CR-V! You have to be careful when putting the carrier on the receiver so as to not trigger the ‘kick to open’ feature on the hatchback!

@Mark Well at least you know the kick sensor still works! : P Glad we could help get you the hitch and find you an installer as well! Always nice to hear when everything works out. And that sounds like quite the trip! What was your favorite stop? I haven't had the chance to tour the east coast yet, but it's definitely on my list.

@LazerS - The other issue we had with the new CR-V was once the bikes were on the back the rear collision detectors kept stopping us when backing up, thinking we were going to hit the bikes! We had to turn that feature off just to back out of our driveway! I'd say the Island Line Trail across Lake Champlain near Burlington VT was probably a high point of our travels, but there have been so many it is hard to rule out many! The Huron Sunrise trail along the Michigan shore of Lake Huron was nice, as was the ride around Jekyll Island in Georgia. Of course the ride out over the ocean on the old Seven Mile Bridge in Florida is also remarkable. Can you tell we like the trails along lakes and oceans?! But then we also need to get back out to South Dakota to ride more miles of the Mickelson Trail along the Black Hills that is also on our must-do list! We'll soon be riding the Katy Trail in Missouri, the longest rail-trail in the US. We're not youngsters in our 60s and 70s, but have been able to do all of these because of the hitch receiver(s) and bike carrier(s) from eTrailer! We recommend eTrailer whenever we can to anyone needing a hitch or bike carrier! Mark

Jerry, I installed that hitch C13397 on my 2024 CRV sport L with no issues at all. No drilling or metal cutting at all. Just a little trimming on the plastic cover under the rear end. Thats it. Good luck Sal
