Video Transcript for Review of Curt Ball Mounts - Fixed Ball Mount - C45036

Today I'm going to take a look at the Curt Class 3 Ball Mount with a 2 inch ball, 2 inch drop and a 7500 pound weight capacity. Now this is a nice starter kit from Curt that has everything you need to tow your trailer with a 2 inch hitch receiver. It includes the ball mount with the 2 inch hitch ball already attached and a 5/8 inch diameter pinning clip to install it to your hitch receiver. The ball mount itself provides a nice 2 inch drop to fit your application. It's a steel hitch ball, comes torqued to factory torque specs already to the ball mount and has a nice chrome plating on the hitch ball to help resist corrosion. You can see the ball mount itself has a black powder coat finish on a steel ball mount for superior rust protection, and we mentioned comes with a 5/8 inch diameter pinning clip that'll hold it to your hitch receiver. Now if you want extra security to lock this to your receiver, we do also sell a hitch lock which we do sell separately on our website and it's listed on this product page as a related product.A few specs again. It's designed to fit a 2 inch by 2 inch trailer hitch receiver.

You can see it has the hollow shank design. The gross towing weight capacity is 7500 pounds. Tongue weight capacity is 750 pounds. Few measurements on this. The drop we mentioned would be measured from the top of the shank to the top of the ball platform and this has a 2 inch drop.

The ball mount length which is measured from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball will be right at 7 and a half inches and the ball size 2 inch diameter ball shank diameter that the ball is on is a 1 inch diameter shank. But just to demonstrate how you would install this. Happen to pull an example of a 2 inch by 2 inch hitch receiver. Let's sort of zoom out a little bit. 2 inch by 2 inch hitch receiver right there. What you'll want to do is take your shank, you have your hitch pin hole right there, slide it into the hitch receiver.

Once you get the holes lined up, take your 5/8 inch diameter pin, slide it all the way through, take your clip. Go ahead and clip that on there and then you're clipped on, all locked in, ready to go, ready to tow. And then when you go to remove it, just pull off the clip, slide out the pin and slide the ball mount right out of your hitch receiver. But that should do it for the review on the Curt Class 3 Ball Mount with a 2 inch diameter ball and 2 inch drop and a 7500 pound weight capacity.

I very recently ordered, a Curt class 111 Ball mount with 2" drop- 7500 lbs and an adapter 7 pole to 4 pole with tester and cover, as a first time customer . I was needing to pull my golf cart and trailer to a new home . I chose the 5 to 7 day standard mail delivery. I very quickly received an email from ETrailer customer service Rep. George J. To advise that he was turning my order around quicker with a 3 to 5 day delivery. This was my first experience with ordering a product from your company and I was extremely impressed with ETrailer outstanding customer service. I mentioned this to a neighbor of mine and He stated to me that he had bought several things from ETrailer and had always had excellent service. Thank You ETrailer and George J. For Your outstanding Customer service. 573579

One word-Perfect! I make all of my purchases online, and using etrailer.com for my recent purchase of a trailer hitch, wiring harness, luggage carrier, and trailer ball were one of the best online purchase experiences yet. The website is awesome, the how to videos are unmatched, and superb cusomer service. Highly recommended! Add all that to great variety of products! 387491

I am very pleased with the hitch. Along with the hitch, I ordered the ball mount and the wiring harness. Delivery was on point. I was going to have my mechanic install the hitch, but after watching your video a few times, I decided to tackle the job myself. It did take me about three hours to complete the installation. Of course in your video, it's all done with a lift which I didn't have. Followed the video and the installation came out great. Great product and video to referred to when needed. 294452

I recently purchased this hitch and related wiring accessories from etrailer for my 05 Hyundai Tucson. Following the included installation instructions I found the hitch easy to install. Total install time including the wiring adapter was approximately 1.5 hours without rushing. 482733

Install took a little more time than planned, did not lower the muffler. The four bolts from left to right, number two and four were threaded. 2015 Rubicon, had to get the number two bolt started first and then the others worked fine. Start the threaded bolts first. Electrical hookup easy. Have not towed yet, don't expect problems. 267195

Incredible price on a great hitch from Curt. I have no idea how etrailer can offer free shipping on something like this, but they do. Awesome. I ordered the ball mount complete with 2" ball and pin/clip which was likewise priced extremely competitively. The hitch bolted up to my Transit T-250 easily. I took the extra step of running a tap into the (4) unthreaded holes on the van, but it's not necessary. For me, it just made the install a little easier and made me feel better. The new Transits are generally lower in the rear vs. the old E series van's, so I flipped the ball mount into the "rise" position to get the right ball height. Stated specs for the ball mount were 2" Drop and 3/4" Rise. 429381

package arrived on time. the box arrived damaged scratches on paint but I still installed it. installation was easy thanks to you tube. the bracket for the wiring was short for my 2017 Honda pilot. bracket needs to be at least 3 inches longer I have attached some pictures other than that I would have been much happier it will do for now. I Hope this review help for the piloteers. 374703

Thus is a good quality ball mount. We have utilized in a 2017 Honda Pilot with an etrailer hitch. It has primarily been used for a bike rack. But no doubt it would work for any trailer that its mounted to. Eteauker had the best deals that in found online. I would order from them again. 764358

  • Best Trailer Towing Setup for a 2006 Nissan Murano
The wiring you need is the Tekonsha T-One # 118775 wiring kit as it is the only one available for your 2006 Nissan Murano. For a trailer hitch I recommend going with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13571 which is a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It has a Gross Towing Weight (GTW) rating of 3,500 lbs and a max Tongue Weight (TW) rating of 350 lbs but you will want to check the weight capacity rating of your Murano in your owner's manual to ensure that you do not exceed the lower...

In order to receive a ball mount with a wall thickness of 1/4" or .250 you would need to go up to a Class IV like the Curt Ball Mount for 2" Hitches part # C45310. • Is There a Shorter Shank Option for Curt Fixed Ball Mount with 2 Inch Drop
The Curt Class III Ball Mount with 2" Ball - 2" Drop - 7,500 lbs # C45036 does come with the hitch ball installed. The ball platform is 3/4 inches thick which is standard with a 1 inch diameter hole. This is the shortest option for that rise and drop. There is a lower rated option in # C45131 but it is only due to the smaller hitch ball that is 1-7/8 inch diameter. It still uses the same ball mount and just changes the hitch ball. There are longer options that are similar but nothing...

Using a ball mount that has a 7,500 lb Gross Towing Weight (GTW) capacity, like the Curt # C45036, with a trailer hitch that is rated only for 6,000 lbs is definitely okay. For any towing setup you are limited by the lowest rated component. Just knowing the ball mount and trailer hitch capacity tells me that the max you can tow is 6,000 lbs.
