Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this CURT heavy-duty forged ball mount for 2 1/2 inch hitch with the 2 5/16 inch diameter hitch ball. Has a 20,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now, this ball mount will install into a 2 1/2 inch hitch opening, and allows you to tow a trailer that has a 2 5/16 size coupler. If you notice, it does include the 2 5/16 diameter hitch ball, and it will come torqued to the factory specs.
And it does provide a two inch drop from the top of the inside of the hitch opening. It is a solid, one-piece, forged, heavy-duty steel construction. The ball mount itself is a corrosion resistant, black, powder coat finish. The ball has a nice, corrosion resistant, chrome plating on it. Now, the hitch pin hole diameter, that's where you'll put your pin and clip when you slide this into your hitch receiver.
You wanna attach it using a hitch pin and clip or a hitch lock. Now, those are not included. We do sell those separately. The diameter of this hitch pin hole is 5/8 of an inch. Application, again, this fits into a 2 1/2 inch by 2 1/2 inch hitch receiver.
Gross towing weight capacity of 20,000 pounds. Tongue weight capacity of 2,000 pounds. We mentioned the hitch ball size is 2 5/16 diameter, and that's stamped even on the the top of the ball. And the last thing I'm gonna do is give you the measurement from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball. So, if we take our ruler, go from the center to the center of the ball, you can see is right at 8 1/2 inches.

For years ive had the 2 inch version and it has been the best hitch ive ever used. My new truck came with a 2 1/2 receiver so i upgraded instead of using the adapter and i am pleased so far. Exactly what i had expected, great product.

Heavy duty and ball mounted saves me the hassle. The new F350’s are taller and had to make adjustments for the cargo trailer and 5th wheel. I can count on etrailer to have what I need.

I tried twice to get this hitch and ball from [online vendor]. Twice the shipment was lost and I had to get a refund. Shipment from etrailer is right the first time and arrived quickly. Plus, since the ball is already torqued on the ball mount, I don't need to by a large socket.

Very solid and heavy duty ball mount. Added benefit of being able to buy the ball already secured to the mount. Could not find the 6” drop mount, especially for 2.5” receivers, at local stores. etrailer has it all and ships fast!

The Quiet Hitch essentially clamps the ball mount to the hitch receiver so there isn't any tolerances for the ball mount to move around in. It's a pretty simple device but it's also very effective. I actually have a friend who left this on her vehicle for a few years and she said it still works good as new even after being exposed to all sorts of weather.
