Availability of Curt Ball Mount With 1" Rise

Updated 03/31/2026 | Published 03/30/2026

Question:

Dear etrailer, Can you get the Curt product C45036 with the ball in the 1” rise position? That is what I need to level my trailer. The 2” won’t work. My current 2” ball mount has a 2-1/2 “ rise which is too much! I recently installed Timbren bump stops, and they do work. But they also raised up my trailer at the ball mount.

Hi Ed! You can actually remove the ball from the # C45036 and flip it over for a 1" rise. The ball is pre-torqued but it isn't permanently attached. Alternatively, if your existing ball mount has a 2" ball with a 1" diameter shank you can use that on the # C45030 which is just the ball mount without the hitch ball.

@RobinH I don't think my torque wrench can go up that high!

@Edl sounds like an opportunity to get new tools! Ok maybe not, but if there is a local shop you use for vehicle, trailer, or mower repair you can probably ask them to let you borrow theirs for a minute or do it for you really quick.
