Excellent quality product. This is my 2nd Rocky Mounts rack purchase, and I will continue to purchase their brand in the future.

This rack works perfectly for my hardtail mountain bike. Keeps the bike secure and stable at both high and low speeds.

Would highly recommend to anyone.

Pretty straight forward when assembling, very sturdy item. A little on the heavy side but you know its got quality behind it.

Great rack, about to buy another one. Also bought a trailer hitch that we installed ourselves. In the process of purchasing a roof cage with bike mounts. Everything I have gotten off of the site is great. Had 2 hitches installed by you guys and everything works great. Definitely recommend.

So easy and convenient - Holds any of my bikes secure with freeway driving on long excursions. Super easy to get into and get the bike on top of the rack - 3 contact points and locks. I even saw another guy with the same truck have one on his truck in town - compliments to the builders

I own two. I took one off and lost one of the metal pins that attaches to the mounting strap and can't seem to find them for sale anywhere. Great rack and would give it 5 stars but the arm is sometimes very stiff and hard to move.

You mentioned that you were looking for one the metal pins that attaches to the mounting strap. I checked and they only come with the straps. We have the replacement front mounting strap part # RKY1245.

This is a pretty okay roof tray. My main complaint is just how hard it is to swing the arm up and down. It seems VERY difficult. But it holds my bike well on longer drives so I guess that’s what is most important

I am very satisfied with the two RockyMounts BrassKnuckle racks I purchased from etrailer.com! Shipped quickly without damage. Easy to mount on crossbars, function as expected, fit and finish is top notch.

Note - I ordered the optional lock cores however the rack shipped with lock cores installed. Not an issue and I will return the extras that I ordered. I recommend checking if the lock cores are required before ordering separately.

    I went out to the warehouse and pulled a Rock Mounts Brass Knuckles bike carrier # RKY1201 and assembled it to measure it for you. From the center of the fixed front mounting point to the nearest end of the carrier it is 18 inches. And from the center of the fixed mounting point to the far end is 45-1/4 inches. To use this bike carrier with a fat bike you will also need the Fattie adapter, # RKY1240, which comes with a larger wheel cradle and longer straps for the large fat bike tires.

  • Comparing Rhino Rack Hybrid Roof Bike Rack and RockyMounts BrassKnuckles
    The two racks you mentioned are pretty similar takes on the same type of bike rack but I would go with the Rhino Rack Hybrid part # RRRBC050-FB over the RockyMounts BrassKnuckles # RKY1201 for a couple reasons. The Rhino Rack is 3 lbs lighter, comes with locks (BrassKnuckles requires you buy them separately), and if ever needed to carry a fat bike it's already compatilbe whereas the BrassKnuckle requires an additional adapter.

    Like you said, there isn't a master key for the RockyMounts lock cores. In order to change out a lock core you will need access to the back of the lock. Then with a small flat blade screwdriver or a knife you can press down on the pin that holds the lock in the housing and then push it out of the front.
