Great product, fast delivery and the best price !!

by:

Looks great, well built, and minimal wind noise when not in use.

by:

Service was good , fast delivery, good quality product. This rack did come with lock cores even though nothing indicates that .

by:

Bike racks are great package came on time

by:

Works great and looks awesome on my car. However the rail came scratch and is very noticeable. For that can't give 5 star.

by:

I am very satisfied with the two RockyMounts BrassKnuckle racks I purchased from etrailer.com! Shipped quickly without damage. Easy to mount on crossbars, function as expected, fit and finish is top notch.

Note - I ordered the optional lock cores however the rack shipped with lock cores installed. Not an issue and I will return the extras that I ordered. I recommend checking if the lock cores are required before ordering separately.

Low profile, holds the bikes in place
and very easy to put the bikes on the rack. Also, very east install.

by:

Pretty straight forward when assembling, very sturdy item. A little on the heavy side but you know its got quality behind it.

by:

Love this product!! Super easy to put together and install on my Subaru!!! Highly recommended to anyone who is looking for this style bike rack.

by:

Excellent quality product. This is my 2nd Rocky Mounts rack purchase, and I will continue to purchase their brand in the future.

This rack works perfectly for my hardtail mountain bike. Keeps the bike secure and stable at both high and low speeds.

Would highly recommend to anyone.

Still very happy and my previous review still applies. The rack has worked well and is very sturdy and I will continue to purchase the Rocky Mounts brand in the future.

by:

Great rack, about to buy another one. Also bought a trailer hitch that we installed ourselves. In the process of purchasing a roof cage with bike mounts. Everything I have gotten off of the site is great. Had 2 hitches installed by you guys and everything works great. Definitely recommend.

by:

So easy and convenient - Holds any of my bikes secure with freeway driving on long excursions. Super easy to get into and get the bike on top of the rack - 3 contact points and locks. I even saw another guy with the same truck have one on his truck in town - compliments to the builders

by:

I own two. I took one off and lost one of the metal pins that attaches to the mounting strap and can't seem to find them for sale anywhere. Great rack and would give it 5 stars but the arm is sometimes very stiff and hard to move.

You mentioned that you were looking for one the metal pins that attaches to the mounting strap. I checked and they only come with the straps. We have the replacement front mounting strap part # RKY1245.

by:

Great service as usual from etrailer. Was a little disappointed with the rack, that it didn't come with the locks, can be ordered separate or transferred over. They could've suggested it in check out to buy "Rockymounts" could've just charged the couple of extra dollars and made the point moot. Still happy with the service. Thanks

by:

Very happy with the bike rack. Easy to assemble and put on the rack on the car. Like that it locks to the car rack and also locks the bike on. Easy to put the bike on and lock in place. Glad I made this purchase.

by:

This is a pretty okay roof tray. My main complaint is just how hard it is to swing the arm up and down. It seems VERY difficult. But it holds my bike well on longer drives so I guess that’s what is most important

by:

It’s such a good bike rack. Well made and sturdy.

by:

Excellent rack! I needed a rack that was not fork mount due to my Cannondale Lefty mtb. This rack was perfect.

by:

work very good and happy

Great customer service

  • Distance from Center of Fixed Mounting Point to Ends of Rocky Mounts Brass Knuckles Bike Carrier
I went out to the warehouse and pulled a Rock Mounts Brass Knuckles bike carrier # RKY1201 and assembled it to measure it for you. From the center of the fixed front mounting point to the nearest end of the carrier it is 18 inches. And from the center of the fixed mounting point to the far end is 45-1/4 inches. To use this bike carrier with a fat bike you will also need the Fattie adapter, # RKY1240, which comes with a larger wheel cradle and longer straps for the large fat bike tires.

  • Roof Mount Bike Rack Recommendation for 2016 Volvo XC90
Both the RockyMounts BrassKnuckles Roof Mount Bike Rack # RKY1201 and the Inno Tire Hold Roof Bike Rack # INA389 will work well for you to carry a street bike or a mountain bike. Both racks' designs allow them to carry bikes of varying sizes and tire widths. Personally, I recommend the RockMounts BrassKnuckles # RKY1201. This rack has a more streamlined design that will cut down on wind noise over the slightly bulkier Inno. Additionally, the BrassKnuckles is more economically priced than...

  • How to Carry Two Bikes if your Trailer Doesnt have Room for a Tongue-Mounted Bike Rack
I have a possible solution for you. First, though, using any hitch extender comes with the downside of reducing your hitch's capacity (usually by 50%). That, plus the addition of some sway, is the reason I wouldn't recommend using the Hitch-It, part # LC731138, on a hitch extender. Besides, the Hitch-It is designed for the tongues of a trailer, which are larger than extenders. Instead, since your Malone MicroSport doesn't have any room for a tongue bike rack, I suggest carrying your bikes...

  • Comparing Rhino Rack Hybrid Roof Bike Rack and RockyMounts BrassKnuckles
The two racks you mentioned are pretty similar takes on the same type of bike rack but I would go with the Rhino Rack Hybrid part # RRRBC050-FB over the RockyMounts BrassKnuckles # RKY1201 for a couple reasons. The Rhino Rack is 3 lbs lighter, comes with locks (BrassKnuckles requires you buy them separately), and if ever needed to carry a fat bike it's already compatilbe whereas the BrassKnuckle requires an additional adapter.

The RockyMounts BrassKnuckles # RKY1201 will not mount using T-slots on crossbars. However, the RockyMounts JetLine Bike Rack # RKY1321 can. The Jetline will only work with bikes that have a quick-release front wheel. It does feature a locking option by adding two lock cores # RKY0332. For another channel mount bike carrier that uses T-slots the Thule ProRide XT # TH598004 is a frame mount that doesn't require the front wheel to be removed. It uses a padded clamp that holds your bike...

The Swagman Roamer LT Roof Rack, part # S80510 is designed for pop-up campers and truck caps and provides a great way to be able to carry accessories like bikes, kayaks, etc. This roof rack is not designed to be able to work with 1-piece, plastic trailer tops. • Bikes are Unstable on Roof of 2012 GMC Yukon Denali with Factory Roof Rack
There are no roof rack options if your 2012 GMC Yukon Denali already has factory crossbars. It is possible that something would fit the side rails that run front to back but none of the manufacturers have tested that. I think part of the issue could be the bike racks you are using. Some have substantial movement. It could be that is the problem. The roof bike rack that has proven to be the most stable is the Rhino-Rack MountainTrail, # RBC035. As long as you don't go over the 45 lb weight limit of the BrassKnuckles or the 150 lb weight limit of your 2013 Chrysler Town and Country roof rack and your crossbar spread is between 24" and 43" you are good to go! At the front rail attachment, the width is 6-1/2 inches and is the widest part of the rack other than the width of the arm which is 11 inches. • What Roof Bike Rack Do You Recommend for an Electric Bike with Fenders?
I have a solution to the issue. I did some research on your Blix Aveny, and I found that the bike's weight is 58 pounds with the battery attached. Given this weight restriction, there are currently no roof bike racks that will support this weight.
