Question:
I have a 2017 Chevrolet Traverse without a factory tow package. I saw that the kit part number C56181 cannot be used on vehicles with rear air conditioning. My Traverse has rear air conditioning what harness do I need for my vehicle?

Since your 2017 Chevrolet Traverse does not have the factory connector but does have a rear air conditioning unit I recommend first checking to see if you have the factory tow package. You can locate the plug for the Tekonsha T-One # 118270 at the rear passenger side as is shown in the attached installation video.
If you don't have the factory tow package then you will want to go with the Hopkins # HM11141150. I spoke with my contact at Hopkins who said that he hasn't heard of having any problems when an AC unit is present. The installation instructions have been attached for you to check out.
If you don't already have a trailer hitch then I recommend using the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75528 which is a Class III hitch with a 2" hitch receiver. I have attached an installation video for you to check out. This hitch has a tab on it to install a wiring mounting bracket like # 18144 for your 4-Way Flat connector.
The Curt Class III Ball Mount with 2" Ball - 2" Drop # C45036 is a great option to complete your towing setup, but you will want to check out the attached helpful article to ensure that it is correct for your towing application.
