Big brake boxes can clutter your interior and get in the way. The Echo Under-Dash keeps things clean by mounting its 3-3/8" long x 3" wide x 7/8" thick main unit out of sight behind the dashboard. You control everything from your phone, so there’s no bulky controller to hit your knees or spoil your dash layout. The hidden setup looks stock and leaves all the legroom you started with.
Instead of knobs or extra wiring, the Echo connects to your smartphone over Bluetooth. Through the OneControl app, you can adjust max output, tweak sensitivity, or hit manual override—all right on the screen. The app works with both Apple (5.0 and newer) and Android (4.3 and newer), and once it’s paired, it keeps running even if your data connection drops. Everything you need for towing control stays right in your pocket.
Uneven braking can make towing stressful, especially when carrying a heavy trailer. The internal 3-axis accelerometer senses how hard you brake and sends matching power to the trailer’s brakes for smooth stops every time. It works with up to 4 axles (8 brake assemblies) and supports electric trailer brakes, keeping braking steady on everything from light loads to fully loaded rigs.
No splicing or cutting wires—just plug into the factory brake control port under the dash using the custom harness. Mount the box anywhere under the dash with the included adhesive pad or zip ties, then let it self-calibrate in seconds. The 3-axis design means it can sit at any angle and still deliver proper braking force once paired and ready to tow.
If you switch between trailers, you won’t have to reset anything. The app lets you save custom profiles for each trailer, including output and sensitivity settings. Just swipe through profiles when you hook up a new trailer and get on the road faster with consistent braking performance every time.

Still 5 stars, lots of trips including a long tow of over 5000 miles. Consistently worked flawlessly. Mild annoyance that they changed the app but once I learned how the new app worked it continues to function flawlessly.

I reached out to Curt about the problems with the new app. They advised that the new app runs the same as the old app it has to run in the foreground unless they are using the button which is the same as the old app. They wanted to know if you were having trouble getting past that screen. Which type of cell phone do you have and which IOS are you using?
