Will the Curt Echo Under-Dash Trailer Brake Controller Draw Power with Vehicle Off

Question:

Does the device use constant power or does it turn on when the vehicle is started? I’ve seen reviews that lights are constantly on. I don’t drive my vehicle daily and want to make sure this will not strain the battery.

The Curt Echo Under-Dash Trailer Brake Controller part # C27JR as with most any electric trailer brake controller will draw a very small amount of power even when the vehicle is off so it can save all your settings. That said, the power draw is milliamps so even for a vehicle that is not daily driven there will be no issues with a dead battery. If you want, you can unplug it each time to kill power but that means you lose all your saved settings for the trailer. This is the case for nearly every trailer brake controller.
