Features to know about

Built for Confident Hauling: Load Range B with 840-lb Capacity at 55 psi

When you’re towing gear or equipment, you want a tire that’s proven to carry the load without stress. The Kenda K353 Bias Trailer Tire delivers a maximum load of 840 lbs at 55 psi and fits 12" x 4" wheels. It meets and exceeds Department of Transportation standards, so you can trust it for steady performance trip after trip.

Reliable on Rough or Uneven Ground: Bias Ply Design for Better Control

This bias ply tire uses thick, durable nylon cords placed at a 30- to 45-degree angle and layered in a crisscross pattern. That design strengthens the sidewalls and helps the entire tire flex evenly, giving you smoother handling over uneven or off-road surfaces. It’s built to take on the bumps without the wobble or sway that can wear out lighter tires.

Ready for Work and Play: 5.30-12 Size with 21.9" Diameter and 5.6" Width

The K353 measures 21.9" in overall diameter and 5.6" wide when inflated—perfect dimensions for setups that need a balance of ground clearance and compact profile. It’s a great match for trailers that see both pavement and dirt paths, handling transitions between surfaces without skipping a beat.

Peace of Mind Protection: 1-Year Worry-Free Guarantee and 5-Year Limited Warranty

Kenda backs this tire with a 1-year worry-free guarantee that replaces it if damaged within the first year, plus a 5-year limited warranty for long-term confidence. That coverage adds real assurance that your tire investment is protected wherever your haul takes you.

Determining Bolt Pattern

1. Count the lug holes

Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).

Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug

2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.

Center to Center
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"

2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).

Center to Outside Edge
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Would have given tires a better score but the tires are very hard to get the bead to set on wheel because they are warped due to shipping. If I new it was going to be this much work I probably would have ordered the tires on wheels already. The tires shop I bought the tires to could not get the tires to expand on wheels after mounting. I had to do it myself.

by:

Tires just arrived today so installation is still pending BECAUSE out of 4 trailer tires, which usually all ship in their single tire box, THREE of them were bound so tight and flat inside a SINGLE tire box that I first thought I had been sent bicycle tires! The tires were immediately cut from their bindings, and hopefully they will reform enough to be safely mounted! They have been out of their box for hours, and the two tires that were on the outer sides of the bunch still show DEEP deformities in the side walls! SEE PHOTOS ATTACHED!

Exceptional customer service! I received updates on shipment and delivery. Product is as described and I've already hauled pallets of mulch. Thank you!

by:

Ordering process was easy and order processing clearly explained in timely emails.

Order arrived as was told. Tires were correct and I was concerned because they were “squashed “ together by straps leaving them deformed. However, the installation went smoothly and they all hold air!

I contacted Americana which manufactures the Kenda Loadstar brand. The bias trailer tires will say Loadstar or a code number with a K in front of it for Kenda.

  • Recommended PSI for Size 5.30-12 Tires
The psi should be listed on the sidewall of the tire. It is recommended that tires always be inflated to the max psi. The max psi of the tire will depend on the tire's load range, not the weight of the trailer. For instance, we carry 5.30-12 tires in load ranges B, C, and D. The maximum psi is 55 for one of our load range B tires, 80 for a load range C, and 105 for a load range D. However, different tire manufacturers may have different psi ratings even for the same tire size and load...

  • Replacement Trailer Tires for 155/80R12
I do recommend the 5.30x12 as it is by far the closest to your current 155/80R12. I put the sizes below for you to compare. 155/80R12 -Width- 6.1" -Height- 21.8" 5.30x12 -Width- 5.5" -Height- 21.9" I would recommend using bias ply for your driving as radial tires are more at home on the highways. For the load rating I would stick with the same rating that the trailer manufacturer recommended. This information can be found on the Data Tag on the front drivers side of the trailer. If...

  • Recommended 5.30-12 Trailer Tire for Off-Road Use
We offer a 5.30-12 bias ply tire in load range C as # AM10066 or load range B as part # AM10064. These aren't what most would typically refer to as 'off road' trailer tires, but because bias ply tires have a stronger and thicker sidewall, they'll preform better in off-road situations than a comparable radial tire would. I'll link you to an article with more information about trailer tires.

  • Is Load Range Important When Replacing Trailer Tires on a Popup Camper
The load range tire used is going to depend on the gross trailer weight capacity, which should be on a sticker or plate near the front of the trailer frame or in the trailer's literature. It probably also indicates the load range, or at least the capacity, on your existing tires. For a 5.30-12 we have 3 different load ranges: B, C, and D. For a load range B use # AM10064. • Comparing a 5.30x12 and 5.70x8 Trailer Tire
A 5.30x12 tire such as part # AM10064 is around 21.7" diameter x 5.3" wide whereas a 5.70x8 tire such as part # AM10013 is around 18.1" diameter x 5.7" wide. Therefore, the new tire will be 3.6" taller x .5" narrower than the one you have now. You only need to account for half of each measurement for clearance. I have attached a list of our 5.30x12 tires for you as well.

  • What is the Speed Rating for Kenda Karrier S-Trail ST145/R12 Radial Trailer Tire
The trailer tires we carry are rated for 65 miles per hour at most. Traveling 80 miles an hour will produce too much heat for a trailer tire. The problem is that trailer tires are made with a thicker side wall than passenger vehicle tires. This means that they can get hotter faster and going over the rated speed will lead to excessive heat build up. Excessive heat build-up in a tire can lead to diminished tread life and tire failure. Radial tires dissipate heat better but are still rated...

You can switch to a smaller size wheel and tire as long as you do not have brakes that will interfere with the smaller wheel or a trailer with to much weight for the smaller tires. The Kenda 5.70-8 Bias Trailer Tire with 8" White Wheel # AM30153 has a wheel with the 4 on 4" lug pattern. It is a Load Range D tire with a 910lb capacity. It is 5.8" wide and has an outer diameter of 18" which is roughly 1/4" narrower and 4" smaller than your current 5.30-12 # AM10064.

  • Can I Replace 5.30-12 Tires For 20.5 x 8-10 Tires On Utility Trailer With Limited Clearance
Since you do not have much clearance between your existing tire and the trailer frame with the 5.30-12 on the trailer I do not recommend to use 20.5 x 8-10 tires because the section width is actually wider than the existing tire that you have on the trailer. The modern equivalent to 20.5 x 8-10 tires is a 205/65-10 and even at their lightest load range of B part # AM1HP50 the section width is still 8.3" compared to the 5.30-12 load range B part # AM10064 that is 5.6" section width. • How To Determine What Bearings Are Needed On Travel Trailer
When replacing bearings on a trailer, you will need to know what size bearings will fit the spindle on your trailer axle. The best way is to remove the old bearings and check for the numbers on the bearing. That way you get an exact match. If you are unable to find the numbers on the bearing, you will need to measure the spindle surface as shown in the attached drawing to make sure you get the right size.
