A weak or rusted hanger can throw off your suspension geometry and make the ride rough. This rear hanger is built from high-strength steel for a sturdy, lasting mount. It suspends a 1-3/4" wide double-eye spring with a 9/16" diameter eye and holds it securely to the trailer frame. The steel bushing is fitted by tension for a precise fit with a 9/16" shackle or wet bolt (sold separately). Shackle straps are required to attach the spring and are sold separately.
Designed specifically for single-axle systems, this hanger keeps the suspension geometry tight and predictable. When paired with the correct shackle straps and 9/16" bolts (both sold separately), it gives the spring the right amount of movement without bottoming out or binding. The mount aligns cleanly so your axle travel stays consistent and your trailer tracks straight.
Don't let the small size fool you - this piece carries real weight. Measuring 2-1/8" long, 1-3/4" wide, and 1/8" thick, it is made to handle the stress of loaded suspension work day in and day out. The tight dimensions make it easy to position and weld solidly in place while keeping everything square.
Unlike hangers that mount facing down, this one welds to the trailer frame on its side. It is stamped with "TOP" to take out the guesswork so you can orient it correctly. Once installed, shackle straps (sold separately) attach on the outside of the hanger to connect the leaf spring and create a strong joint that moves smoothly through each suspension cycle.

Today we're going to be taking a look at the rear hanger with the included bushing, this is for a single axle trailer suspension system. This rear hanger suspends a double-eye leaf spring on a single axle trailer suspension system only. Again, it is configured as the rear hanger and it provides the attachment point for the leaf spring. This hanger suspends the spring from the trailer frame when used in conjunction with shackle straps. Shackle straps are sold separately, if you're in need of them you can find them here at etrailer.com. If we take a measurement of the diameter of this hole right here, that's going to give us a measurement of right around 9/16" to 5/8", so that tells us that this will work with a 9/16" diameter bolt. The bolt is sold separately as well.
This is made for use with single axle systems only. It's going to fit 1-3/4" wide double-eye springs, again, with 9/16" diameter eyes. Taking a look at the length measurement real quick, it's going to give us a measurement of about 2-1/8". The width measurement measures 1-3/4", and then the thickness, it's going to measure 3/16" thick. It's made from a nice durable steel construction. That's going to do it for today's look at the rear hanger with the included bushing for single axle trailer suspensions..

Weld-on rear spring hanger. Much better than the completely worn-out original rear spring hangers on my Pace American 5 x 10 trailer, due to the bushing. This gives a much larger bearing surface for the shackle bolts. Combined with wet - lubricated - spring shackle bolts (Part # 126B2), these should last a very long time

I think etrailer is Great. I think their customer service is fantastic. My wife and I were in Arkansas, 1200 miles from our home in Ft. Myers Florida. I replaced the original springs on our trailer with new heavy duty springs, but never changed the hangers or bolts. Our trailer was riding very poorly, we needed new hangers and bolts badly because we were headed on a very long 9000-mile trip with many stops all the way to the Monterey CA. etrailer found us a UPS Store along our route to send us the parts that we needed.
