When you need strong, wide illumination behind your trailer, this Optronics backup light really shines. It uses 36 white LEDs under a clear lens to produce a bright, even light pattern that makes backing up safer and easier. Rated at 175 candela, it gives you the highest output among 6-1/2" oval LED lights. Each light draws only 0.125 amps at 12.8V, so you get excellent brightness without putting extra load on your wiring system.
Water and vibration are tough on lights, but this one is made to handle both. The polycarbonate housing and lens are sonically sealed into a single waterproof unit, keeping out water and debris. That sealed design makes it a dependable choice for trailers that see boat ramps, rain, or muddy backroads. You won’t have to worry about moisture sneaking in and damaging the circuit board or diodes—this light is built to stay dry inside.
Installing this light doesn’t require any complicated rewiring. It’s designed for a recessed mount using the A70GB grommet (sold separately) and connects with an industry-standard 2-prong plug such as the A45CB (sold separately). The oval shape—6-1/2" long by 2-5/16" tall and 1-13/16" thick—fits perfectly in most recessed cutouts or mounting brackets like the BK70BB. Once it’s fitted, you get a clean, flush look that stays secure over time.
Traditional bulbs burn out; these LEDs don’t. They’re rated to last up to 50 times longer than incandescent lights, all while using far less power. No fragile filaments to break, no bulbs to replace—just steady performance every time you flip them on. The Optronics lifetime warranty on LEDs backs that up, letting you install them once and rely on them for years of service.
Safety standards matter when lighting up the road or ramp. This backup light meets DOT and FMVSS 108 requirements in any 360-degree position when used as part of a two-lamp system. That certification means you can trust it to deliver proper brightness and coverage wherever it’s mounted, keeping your setup visible and compliant every time you tow or reverse.

VERY Bright... exactly what I was looking for. Thank you.
Worked great and had them in their spot in ten minutes
Very Bright Lights....
Good product!! Very happy with installation on a 2004 dodge 2500 with cummins Diesel. They worked and looked great!!!
Great product.
Makes a great backup light for my Jeep project. Can't wait to see how well it works at night in the woods.
Bright!
Real clean Look
Product was as described, shipped quickly. Functioned well after
I installed them.
Need exact hole size to cut. Trial and fit took forever. Have not had a chance to try it out backing up my dark driveway.
Disappointed there is no Template and no instructions on line or with the items.
Great replacement for my halogen that kept burning out with this sealed light.
Product has replaced the old single bulb...nice and bright in the dark...if your current gasket is in good shape and still flexible it is an easy in and out replacement with a small screwdriver...
Great people , products , fast shipping Thanks again we'll be back
works swell as a backup light on my parent's Polaris ranger.
Ordered and received items fast. Installed as backup lighting on my boat trailer. Connecting was easy and lights work great.
Great set of reverse lights. Shipped within two hours of ordering. Great customer service.
I am extremely happy with the replacement LED light I received so I can replace my old incandescent fixture!

The light were just what I was looking for, bright, clean looking and good price.
The boat ramp I use has no lighting and I was hoping these LED backup lights would be bright enough to show me the way. The light from them is diffused quite a bit and not as directional as I had hoped.
They are still brighter than the ones I had before. I then bought some reflective cones to put on the edges of the ramp and they light up real well and can be seen from quite a ways away.
Used for backup lights on horse trailer and hoped they would double as loading/staging lights. Adequate for backup only. Expected more from that many diodes at that price. Well-made product that should update to easily available higher performance diodes.

Remember, DOT regulates how bright a back up light can be. Since Optronics builds this as a back up light, it will not be any brighter than reverse lights are allowed to be under DOT regulations.
Very disappointed in the brightness, especially considering the price. I replaced my older incandescent backup light on one side only to compare. The old light lit up the area behind the trailer MUCH better than the LED light. The LED light is much more directional and the old light more like a flood light. If I got down on at eye level with the lights the LED light appeared to be only slightly brighter. The incandescent of course had a much warmer glow but it lit up the back of the garage much better than the LED. I installed the backup lights a couple years because I wanted an assist light when backing the boat in the dark. I'll keep these ONLY because I want to match the LED tail lights that I just installed. I am much happier with those so will keep both (STL22RB). Bottom line, at roughly $40 a piece I expected much better when compared to the incandescent lights they replaced. Definitely NOT worth the money in my opinion.

We have noticed the same. These 36 diode versions are using much older LED technology and have less light output than some of the newer 10 diode models. Part BUL10CB will provide much more light output than this unit, and it even costs less. These older LEDs offered a reduced amperage consumption, but not a brightness increase over their incandescent counterparts. Newer LED technology consumes less and outputs more than the incandescent equivalents.
Just what was needed to brighten up the rear of my horse trailer when loading and unloading in the dark

Lights have withstood being in the weather all year and still function just as well as they did after installation. Excellent Product.
With several of the MCL31 clearance I had half or all of the LEDs stop working. I did not at the time realize they had a lifetime guarantee so I just threw them away. When A bunch of the LEDs in both BUL52CBs and about half of the turn/stop LEDs in the STL37RB went out, I contacted etrailer and they happily replaced them, but it took a couple of weeks and I had to pay the shipping. When I replaced all of my trailer lighting, I had thought that I would never have to worry about it again. LEDs should last forwver. That turns out to not be the case and it is a lot harder to change out hard wired LEDs than socketed incandescent bulbs. I wish I could find reliable long lasting LED trailer lighting.

I have these lights wired to a toggle switch and they still work fine. I would not mind if they were brighter, but they still light up my flatbed well enough that I can hook up a gooseneck trailer in the dark. I have ordered other products from etrailer and the customer service is still great.
