Optronics BUL53 Series LED Backup Light Diagram

Sonically Sealed, Waterproof Trailer Light

The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The housing and lens are sonically sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light and damage the diodes or circuit board.

  • Wire Color Codes for Optronics 3 Wire Taillight Wiring Pigtail
On a three wire pigtail that's being used on a stop/turn/taillight, the red wire carries the brake/turn signal circuit, the black wire carries the running lamp circuit and the white wire provides the ground connection. The # BUL53CB lamp you mentioned is a single function lamp only, for that particular lamp, you'd use a 2 wire pigtail, like part # A45CB. On the 2 wire pigtail, red carries the power to the lamp, the white wire is the ground connection.

  • Replacement Backup Light for Peterson 426E on Motorhome
    The Peterson 426E is a grommet mount lamp which is 4 inches in diameter. We don't offer that particular lamp, but it cross referenced to several lamps offered by Optronics. Here's what's available: • # BU45CB is a in incandescent lamp that could be used as a reverse light. Compatible with 12V systems • # BUL06CB is a 6-diode LED lamp. 12V compatible • # BUL11CB is a 10-diode LED. 12V compatible • # M826C-7 is a 7-diode LED. 12V compatible • # BUL53CB is a 36-diode LED. 14V compatible •...

  • What Amperage Value Fuse to Use When Running Two Optronics LED Trailer Lights # BUL53CB
Since the Optronics LED Trailer Light # BUL53CB draws only 0.228-amperes, two of them can be fused with as low as a 5-amp fuse (few vehicles will have any lighting circuit fused below a 5-amp value). You should not have to worry about compatibility due to power draw, which is quite moderate for all LED type lights as compared to the incandescent type.

  • Can I use a Halogen Spotlight as a Reverse Light to See Better Behind my Horse Trailer
These will certainly provide enough light. My concern would be that they provide too much light and would considered rear-facing headlights. There are DOT restrictions about how bright rear-ward facing lights can be so as drivers behind you are not blinded. The Custer Halogen Light you were looking at does not comply with this regulation. I would suggest instead, using brighter reverse lights. We have several backup LED lights that will be brighter than standard incandescent lights, but...

  • Installation of Extra Reverse Lights on 2006 Ford F-250
The amp draw is 4.5 amps per light or 9 amps for 2 lights on the Optronics 55-Watt Halogen, Multi-Directional, Area Utility Light # QH16CTS. With that much amperage draw I would not recommend to connect them to your factory wiring harness. It could cause overloading problems and damage your vehicles wiring harness. If you want to install the 55-watt lights on your 2006 Ford F-250 you will need to use the Draw-Tite Wiring Kit # 118151. This kit will allow you to run a separate 12 gauge...

  • Are LED Lights with More Diodes Brighter and Can a Trailer Backup Light be Used on a Truck
It is pretty safe to assume that the more diodes in an LED light the brighter it will be. The only time that is not necessarily true is if one light has large diodes and the other doesn't. But any way you slice it light # BUL53CB and its 36 diodes is going to be bright. In this case, for all intents and purposes, a 4-5/16 inch and 4-1/4 inch diameter won't make a difference. The light can be used on your truck. In fact a lot of people use lights like this and other trailer lights on...

  • Wire Pigtail for Optronics 4 Inch Round LED Trailer Reverse Light
Although the rear of the lamp features three pins, only two of them are active which is why the 2-prong pigtail is called for (see photo). My guess is rather than design a separate back for lights that only need the 2 pin pigtail, Optronics finds it more cost effective to use a single back for all their 4 inch round lights.

  • What is the Brightest 12 Volt Fully Submersible Backup Light Available
If you are looking for a round backup light then I recommend part # BUL53CB but if you are looking for an oval backup light then I recommend part # BUL52CB. Both of these backup lights are completely submersible. The round light has 36 diodes with a 275 candella rating and the oval light has 36 diodes with a 175 candella rating therefore the round light will be a bit brighter than the oval light. In order to mount the round light you will also need part # A45GB or part # A70GB for the...

  • Mounting Hole Size for Optronics 4 Inch Round Back Up Lamp # BUL53CB

  • What Is The Amperage Draw On The Optronics 55-Watt Halogen Utility Light # QH16CTS
The amp draw is 4.5 amps per light on the Optronics 55-Watt Halogen, Multi-Directional, Area Utility Light # QH16CTS. If used on your 2004 Chevy Silverado you will need to use the Draw-Tite Wiring Kit # 118151. This kit will allow you to run a separate 12 gauge wire with a 10 amp in-line fuse to the positive side of the vehicles battery. This will keep the lights from drawing power on your factory wiring harness which could cause problems. You will also want to be careful when installing...
