Sonically Sealed, Waterproof Trailer Light

The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The housing and lens are sonically sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light and damage the diodes or circuit board.

Nice lights. I have the 36 diode oval LED lights mounted on a flatbed truck as reverse lights and they are not near as bright as these 10 diode lights. I have the 10 diode lights mounted inside a 6ftx20ft stock trailer on a toggle switch. There is one at the front and one at the back. They give off plenty of light to load and unload horses and cattle in the dark. I would buy these again for the next trailer I rebuild. The team at is top notch as well. Your order will ship the same day and arrive in a timely manner. If it does not they will tell you why. Great people to do business with.

Product exactly as needed. Existing lamps last about 8 to 10 weeks as docking lights on my motorhome; there are four - one at each wheel. These lamps fit perfectly and are much brighter. My expectation is that these lamps will last more than a year(?) We'll see.

So far these lights have exceeded my every expectation! Absolutely no problems whatsoever. Thank you for making a quality product that I can depend on

I purchased these Submersible LED bulbs for my boat trailer for two reasons. The first is so road traffic is aware of my intentions of backing up and the second is to make it easier to back my trailer into my driveway at night. The only thing that I find disappointing about this product, is that the wires are not sealed. You have to plug a pigtail in to power the bulb. Although they say it is watertight, I still plan on sealing the plug with some marine grade silicone sealant. Otherwise I am very satisfied with the way these bulbs light up my path of travel.

the light fixture works very good except when used in the bracket, it leaves the back exposed to being hit by road debris. There is no cover on the light fixture. Therefore i went to a local fabricator and he made a fixture out of 2x4 steel tubing. The gasket fit perfectly but when i went to us the 2 wire pigtail, it was at the wrong angle for the light. I purchased another one locally. just wanted you to know that i could only use the light and the gasket.

Thank you for your prompt service.

Great and perfect replacement for the backup lights in my headache rack.

I can't believe the difference in the looks of my Damon Outlaw Toy Hauler after adding the new LED taillights, not to mention how much safer it will be with the added visibility. The rear of the coach looks brand new with the old faded lights removed and replaced with your lights. Everything was just plug and play. Well worth the cost. Thanks, Michael

Michael M.

I get compliments on the way the motorhome looks all the time. The transformation was really worthwhile, and the back of the coach is MUCH MORE visible poor weather than it used to be. I am completely satisfied!

The lights are great, however, you should probably sell as a kit to include the mounting brackets and wiring harness. I had to make a second order to complete the installation on my truck.

Very bright look great direct fit plug n play

Installed as an interior light in my horse trailer. Works great, although it was slightly bigger than the previous light and was a bit difficult to install. High output with very little power draw. Just plug in, no electrical work. Received very quickly.

I ordered LED trailer running lights - were very easy to put in - not quite as bright as I would have liked, but did may a noticeable difference.

Product well made and was as advertised. Led lights will be used in my Ranch Hand bumper.
Easy to install. I already have the mounting base and wiring.

Huge difference in brightness from these back up lights compared to those which came on my Ranch Hand Legend rear bumper. Product was as described and arrived sooner then I expected.

I made this purchase for my son's boat trailer. I ordered on the Monday before Thanksgiving and it arrived the day before. Everything arrived as expected and well packed. He can't wait to get this installed!

by: is my "Go To" site for trailer lighting and parts. Always reasonable prices.

These provide a lot more light than the bulb type lights. Connections on the back match what was on the trailer. I replaced the rubber grommets at the same time as they are not very expensive.

by: had everything I needed to complete my trailer build, and at the right prices. The products are quality, with competitive pricing. delivered as promised, it was our local delivery that delayed sending the product out to my home, but one call to Pat, and the issue was immediately resolved, and I had the product that night! Great product, Great customer service!

Thank you for the reply. You are correct the light has a three prong socket on the back but this light only uses one function. You need a ground connection and the reverse signal connection. The 2 prong plug I recommended will actually cover up that third slot so you dont have to worry about it getting dirty or damaged.

Product worked fine. Only took a couple of minutes to replace my old trailer lights. Lights are much brighter than my old bulb type lights.

Was just what I was looking for. They had the red lights at our local store but I couldn't find the back-up lights so I went on line and found e-trailer. Realized I could have gotten everything from them and will keep them on my fav list.

Finding and purchasing products from has always been easy. I have purchased many times from
Parts arrive on time and never had a problem.
Good job.

Product looks great, just wish I had known it needs a wire harness instead of just having the wires already installed.

Excellent to deal with and fast shipping

Much better than expected communication and very prompt service. Really pleased with the way they handled the transaction. Very customer focused.

Delivery was quicker than expected. The answer to the review by the staff was extremely helpful in deciding which light would work for my intended use. Have bookmarked etrailer for all future purchasing.

  • What are the Brightest 6.5" Oval Lights for my Motorhome
Because the GloLight LED Backup Light for Truck or Trailer part # BUL111CB slightly diffuses the light around the outside of the light I recommend using the LED Backup Light for Truck or Trailer part # BUL10CB. This will give you a slightly brighter light than the other. To be honest the difference is minimal and I like the looks of the GloLight better but for maximin brightness the second option is the better of the two.

  • Recommendation for Submersible LED Backup Lights on a Boat Trailer
I can help you add reverse lights to your trailer. Yes, It is important to pay attention to DOT compliance when adding lights on your boat trailer. Compliance will be met if you use the Optronics # BUL10CB light as your backup light. The # BUL72CB is purposed for a utility light and will not meet the criteria for reverse lights on the roadway. In order to add reverse lights to your trailer would would need to have a 7-Way on the trailer and a 7-Way on the vehicle. On the vehicle side,...

  • Connecting New Reverse Lights Wiring At Trailer Electrical Connector For a Dump Trailer
As long as your trailer has a 7-way you will more than likely have a Junction Box # 3375601101 that all the wiring from the 7-way will go into and connect to the trailer wiring. You will need to locate this box and find the wire for the reverse light circuit. This will typically be either the purple wire or yellow wire if your harness does not have a purple wire. A Test Light # PTW2993 can be used to verify that you are connecting to the correct wire. If your trailer uses a 6-way connector...

  • Difference in Brightness Between # BUL10CB Backup Light and # BUL72CB Utility Light
Both the # BUL10CB and the # BUL72CB are 10 diode lamps, and therefore neither lamp would really be brighter than the other. The main difference between the two is how the light is focused. Because the # BUL10CB lamp is DOT compliant as a back-up light, the light would be more diffused over a wider area. By contrast, the # BUL72CB which is NOT certified as a back up light would have the light more focused on a smaller area. Each lamp would output a similar amount of light, but the # BUL72CB...

  • Comparing Brightness Ratings of Optronics LED Tail Lights
The Optronics LED Backup Light # BUL22CB is brighter than backup light # BUL10CB although I would not describe it as significant, though that can be subjective. Optronics measures the brightness of their lights using candelas and the # BUL10CB has a candela rating of 125, while the # BUL22CB has a candela rating of 160. There is also the backup light # BUL52CB which has a candela rating of 175. The reason I would not classify the brightness as significantly higher is because these lights...

  • Is the Custer 4 LED Strobe Light part # STRL4W Waterproof
In order for something to be considered waterproof it needs to be able to withstand submersion for a certain amount of time without any water leaking in. The Custer 4-LED Strobe Light or Running Light # STRL4W would work well on the exterior of your vehicle and normal amounts of rain wouldn't break it. But I would not recommend it for a boat trailer where the trailer gets submerged. For something like that you would want a LED Backup Light part # BUL10CB.

  • Parts Needed to LED Reverse Lamps to Boat Trailer
If you wanted to mount an oval reverse lamp on the outboard sides of the wooden guide-ons shown in the photo, you could easily do so using the following parts: LED Submersible Back-Up Lamp, part # BUL10CB (DOT certified for Back Up Lamp Function) Mounting bracket, part # BK70BB Grommet, part # A70GB Wire pigtail, part # A49PB If you wanted to mount the lamp on the metal upright, that would be possible as well but you'd need to box off the upright somehow to provide a surface that the...

I recommend going with the Optronics LED Backup Light # BUL10CB, as it will provide you with a clear, bright LED and it is DOT approved to be used as a backup lamp. The Optronics Sealed Oval LED Light # BUL78CB that you also mentioned is a nice utility light, but it is not actually DOT approved to be used as a backup lamp on a vehicle. The light that you have referenced, # BUL10CB, fits the criteria that you have mentioned. If mounted horizontally, it is only 2-1/4 inches tall and 6-7/16 inches side to side. It is flush mount (use grommet # a70gb). The lights are LED and as such they are brighter than incandescent lights. They are also categorized as submersible. • Output of the Optronics 6-1/2 inch Oval Trailer Lights
Optronics uses candelas to rate the brightness of their lights instead of lumens and the output of the Optronics 6-1/2 inch Oval LED Back Up light, # BUL52CB, is 175 candela. At a distance of 1 foot, the candela output is equal to the output in lumens. The next brightest 6-1/2 inch oval light would be the part # BUL22CB which has an output of 160 candela. • DOT Approved Trailer LED Reverse Light and an LED Interior Trailer Light
Optronics light # BUL78CB is a utility light so it is not DOT approved to be used as anything other than that. For the interior of the trailer it will work fine, it doesn't have to be DOT approved since it isn't a tail, marker, reverse, brake, or turn signal light. • How Much Amperage Is Required to Add Reverse Lights to Trailer
If the tow vehicle has a trailer reverse light circuit separate for trailer wiring then you'd be limited by the amperage rating of the fuse that protects it. If you are tapping into the reverse light circuit of your vehicle for the light then it comes down to the amperage rating of the fuse that protects the circuit as well as the amperage rating of the lights and how many amps are left over between those two numbers. The brightest LED light, flush mount, submersible, that can be used as a back up light, is going to be the round light # BUL23C24B. But this is a 24 volt light and it has 27 diodes. For a 12 volt back up light that is flush mount and submersible would be # BUL10CB or # BUL11CB. For the BUL10CB that you have referenced, you will also need grommet # a70gb, and a wiring harness # A49PB. For the round light # BUL11CB, you would need grommet # A45GB. and harness # A45CB.

  • Can Reverse Light Circuit of Trailer 7-Way be Used to Power Additional Reverse Lights
If the reverse light circuit of your 7-way is active you can use it to power the reverse lights you bought. It would be a matter of running the power wire of the light to the reverse light circuit of the 7-way and the negative to the ground circuit of it. If the circuit isn't active on your trailer wiring you'd then need to tap into the reverse lights of the truck. For a quick splice connector you could use the # SWC502905-1 to make the connection to the circuits.
