Is the LED Oval Trailer Utility Light Brighter than the Incandescent Oval Trailer Back Up Light

Question:

Thinking of getting this as a utility lamp. Is it brighter than the incandescent equivalent of this side, optronics model BU70CB? I want to mount it in the inside of a rear hatch so when its open this will shine downwards

I went out to the warehouse and checked all of our clear oval lights. The Sealed, 6-1/2 inch LED Clear Oval Trailer Utility Light, 10 Diode, item # BUL72CB, whiter light than the light emitted by the incandescent Oval Trailer Back Up Light, item # BU70CB, but the light does not illuminate as large an area as well. The advantages of the LED light is that it does not draw near as much amperage as the incandescent light, it lasts much longer and it does not produce the heat produced by incandescent lights.

I also checked the 6-1/2 inch Oval, LED Backup Light, Grommet Mount, 20 Diode - Clear, item # BUL22CB and the Sealed, 6-1/2 inch Oval LED Trailer Back Up Light, Flush Mount, 36 Diode - Clear, item # BUL52CB, and the light emitted from both of these seems to be as bright as the incandescent model, so one of these may be the best choice for your application.

To mount any of the Clear Oval Trailer Utility Lights you will need a Grommet, item # A70GB, and a 2-Wire Pigtail for Trailer Back Up Lights, item # A45CB, for wiring.

If you do not have a double wall mounting area to install the light or do not want to cut a hole for installation, you may also need the Trailer Light Mounting Bracket for 6-1/2 inch Oval Trailer Lights, Steel - Black Powder Coat, item # BK70BB.
