Today we're going to take a look at the Peterson Six and a Half Inch Oval, Clear Back-Up Light with the Two-Pronged Plug and the Rubber Grommet. Now, this oval back-up light will feature a clear Lexan Lens and a VIBAR socket. Now, the VIBAR socket feature is a vibration dampening feature that absorbs shock to help the bulb last longer. This is a sealed oval back-up light that meets the DoT, Department of Transportation requirements in either horizontal or vertical position.The polycarbonate lens is sonic welded to the housing to form a single unit. It does include this nice rubber mounting grommet and the two-pronged right angle plug to complete your installation. Basically, when you go to install this, it's a flush mount installation so you just install your light into the rubber grommet, just like that.

Take your right angle, two-prong plug, like it up with your connection and then just push it in. You can see our wires will come out at a right angle in the very back here.The two wire right angle plug has a 10 and a half inch long, pig tail wire lead that has two wires. The white wire has a ring terminal on it for ground. The red wire is a 12-volt power wire for your reverse circuit.We are going to hook this up later just to show you how bright the light is. Now, the rubber mounting grommet allows the light to be flush mounted so we're going to go ahead and we're going to give you some dimensions.What we're going to do is, let me take it out of the grommet just to give you the dimensions.

So they overall length on this light edge to edge is going to be right at six and a half inches long. Width on it is going to be right at two and a quarter inches wide and your total depth from the front to the very back is going to be right at two and 3/8ths inches deep.So again, I'm going to reinstall it back into the grommet like it was installed on the trailer, and then we're going to do ahead and hook these wires up and, again, we'll take the ground wire. We'll go ahead and hook that wire up and then we'll take our red wire to connect to our 12-volt power.With those both connected, I'll go ahead and turn on the 12-volt power and you can see the clear light, back-up light will light up. We'll go ahead and turn off our overhead lights and you can see it gives you a very bright back-up light.We'll go ahead and turn back on our overhead lights, disconnect our lights.
