Getting a trailer back on the road is easier when everything you need comes in one box. This Dexter hub-and-drum assembly includes the inner bearing (L44649) and race, outer bearing (LM67048) and race, grease seal (RG06-050), grease cap, wheel bolts, and lug nuts. It’s built for 3,000-lb E-Z Lube axles with BTR spindles and is compatible with electric drum brakes. Each hub has a 1,500-lb weight capacity, a 10" diameter × 1-1/2" wide drum, and a 5-on-4-1/2" bolt pattern, so you’re ready to bolt up and roll without hunting for extra parts.
Packing bearings by hand can be messy and time-consuming. This hub’s E-Z Lube-compatible grease cap makes the job simple. Just remove the rubber plug, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on your spindle, and pump in fresh grease. It flows through to both inner and outer bearings, keeping them protected while saving you from taking the hub apart each time.
Every mile adds up, so durability matters. The iron hub and drum provide a solid braking surface for 10" electric brake assemblies and hold up well under regular towing conditions. This hub-and-drum assembly pairs with wheel sizes from 12" to 15" and gives your brake shoes the right surface area for reliable engagement. That means consistent, even braking when you need it most—whether you’re hauling gear or heading out for the weekend.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hi, everybody. Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for your 3000 pound E-Z Lube Axles. Now folks, this is a 10 inch diameter drum, and it's a five on four and a half inch lug pattern. Now the trailer hub and drum assembly will provide a surface area for brake shoes to grip whenever the brake is activated. And that would be inside here.
It is compatible with electric drum brakes. The E-Z Lube compatible grease cap makes lubricating bearings fast and easy. You simply remove the rubber plug to access the grease Zerk fitting on your spindle, so you don't have to disassemble the hub and all those kind of things. So that's your grease cap, as you know. And that's the plug that you would pop in or take out to service those bearings with your grease Zerk.
It is a sturdy iron construction. It's got a nice coating on it to prevent rust and corrosion. You get all the bearings, races, grease seals, grease caps, the wheel bolts and lug nuts all included. So this is typically gonna fit a wheel size 12 inch to 15 inch. And again, it's a 10 inch diameter by one and a half inch thick or tall right here on this area.
The bolt pattern, again, is a five on four and a half lug pattern. So we always tell people, make sure you double check your lug pattern. On a odd number like five, you need to measure from the center of the one stud diagonally in between the center of the two adjacent studs to get that measurement. You could also measure center stud to center stud, clockwise or counterclockwise. And we have a chart on the product page that'll tell you what that measurement should be.
If it's a five on four and a half as well. Your outer bearing's gonna be a L44649, and your inner bearing is an LM67048. Again, all the races are already pressed in and included, along with the grease seal, the caps, and everything you need to complete the installation. I was really happy to find these products at a reasonable price although I had never done such a repair. My biggest complaint was the packaging. It was terrible. This order contained a heavy piece which broke through the flimsy box and damaged the grease shield shown in the order picture. I had to call and get a replacement. I was sent a similar, but not the same, piece. I finished the job successfully and will buy from etrailer again.
The entire assembly was changed out. Back pad brake assembly and drum assembly. It took a little time but was fairly easy to do.
This is the exact replacement part that I needed for a EZ Lube hub with electric brakes. It was easy enough to install. Etrailer has many install videos The drums do not come with a dust seal plug on the brake adjusting hole. I purchased some at the local automotive parts store. These replacement hubs are now on a 13' Scamp Travel Trailer. The original hubs and brakes were shot. Now, I have new hubs, bearings, races, electric brakes on my 13' travel trailer.
After replacing both brake assemblies on my camping trailer and camping over the past year, the brakes are working as they should and I have not had any issues. I am traveling with confidence once again.

Excellent product. Only a couple slight issues.
1. The drums are made in USA, but the bearings are made in China. Although I assume they are good enough to meet Dexter standards.
2. The included seals were too small on the ID to fit my axles. A call to etrailer solved the issue, but it cost me an additional $50 for the 3-axle (6pcs) seals. As it turns out, Dexter and Lippert made a production change somewhere along the line that went from a larger seal ID to smaller ID on the seal. Mine is the older lager diameter. It would be nice if Dexter included both seals in the package.
I ordered 3 axles worth of complete brake assemblies and drums. Shipping was fast and free. Packaging was very good.

AFTER FIVE YEARS IT WAS TIME TO REPLACE THE BRAKES ON MY TRAILER. I TRIED LOCALLY AND THROUGH THE TRAILER FACTORY. LIKE MANY TRAILER FACTORIES THIS ONE HAD NO RECORD KEEPING. THEY COULD NOT GIVE CORRECT PART NUMBERS. IF I DID BUY THROUGH THEM, THE PRICE WAS TWICE THE AMOUNT OF E TRAILER. I CONTACTED E TRAILER AND SPOKE WITH PAT. SHE WAS GREAT. SHE TOLD ME TO MEASURE MY PARTS WITH A MICROMETER AND GIVE HER THE MEASUREMENTS. SHE FOUND THE CORRECT PARTS, THE EXACT PARTS MY TRAILER WAS BUILT WITH. THE ORDER WAS PLACED AND GET THIS, SHIPPED TWO HOURS LATER. I HAD MY PARTS IN THREE DAYS. DID I MENTION THEY INCLUDED THE RACES ALREADY PRESSED INTO THE HUBS/DRUMS, BEARINGS, DUST CAP, AND NEW LUG NUTS. ALL OF THAT WAS EXTRA FROM EVERYBODY ELSE I CHECKED WITH. THANKS E TRAILER

Hub/drum was exactly what I ordered as a direct replacement and shipping was fast. One thing I didn’t notice when I purchased the hub/drum is that it did not include a new washer. I used the old one but if say I had a catastrophic failure I may not of had the washer.

Exactly as described. Replace hubs and brakes x 2 axles in less than 2 hours. Took more time jacking up axles than it did replacing brakes and hubs.
The 1996 tandem axle trailer had two different Dexter axles; one manual and one EZ Lube. The standard axle had manual adjust brakes, the EZ Lube had self adjusting brakes. After disassembling the two types of drums and taking measurements of drums & spindles, Josh with etrailer was able to ensure I ordered the correct parts. I replaced the EZ Lube drums and the self adjust brakes with the new Dexter drums and Terran self adjust brakes. The manual drums and brakes were replaced with new TruRyde drums and the Terran self adjusting brakes. Everything is working well.
Was told this came with bearings pre greased. Came with neither

Dexter trailer hubs and brakes where exact fit for our Rockwood travel trailer. Installation was straight forward and brakes have worked perfectly since installed. Delivery of parts was prompt. Since then I have ordered and installed a powered tongue jack which also fits our camper and works well.
Took way too long to ship from the warehouse. Tracking info was not specific and told me two different dates at the same time. I emailed you early in the order procesd and you never replied. I would assume that many of your customers are contractors and need parts in a timely manner. By delaying the shipping, you are delaying someones job. The parts came in dirty. I will not be ordering from you again.
