No mess, no setup time. This CE Smith Trailer Hub Assembly for 2,500-lb axles comes factory-packed with heavy-duty marine-grade grease and pre-installed bearings (L44643) and races (L44610). The double-lip grease seal (12192TB) locks out moisture and keeps grease in place, so you can install it right out of the box and hit the road with confidence.
This hub is made for environments where water is unavoidable. The cast iron hub is painted black for strength, while zinc-plated lug nuts, cotter pin, and grease cap help prevent corrosion. Combined with the double-lip seal that keeps water out, it’s a solid choice for trailers exposed to fresh or saltwater.
Everything you need to replace one hub fits neatly inside the included carrying case. Bearings, races, grease seal, grease cap, lug nuts, and cotter pin are all there—packed in one place so you’re not hunting for parts at the last minute. It’s perfect to keep onboard as a ready-to-go roadside spare.
With a 4 on 4" bolt pattern, 1/2" diameter x 1-7/8" long studs, and a hub inner diameter of 1.98", this assembly is built for straightforward replacement on 2,500-lb axles. Each hub supports up to 1,250 lbs and works with wheels up to 12" in diameter. Just slide it on your spindle, torque the bolts, and you’re ready to roll.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Cheap junk grease seal fell out and the tension spring popped out had to beat up the dust cap to get it to fit

Unfortunately HUB fit properly BUT I had No spindle left to install castle nut. Heighth or width was 4" old one was 3.5 Ended up at the local trailer shop & had to go to a 5 lug.that was very hard to find & expensive.
