Features to know about

Skip the Mess and Get Moving Fast: Pre-Greased and Ready to Install

This CE Smith hub comes pre-packed with heavy-duty marine-grade grease, so it’s ready to go right out of the case. The bearings (L44649) and races (L44610) are already installed, saving you the extra work of packing grease or pressing parts. Just slide it onto your spindle, tighten it down, and you’re set. It’s a clean, quick setup that makes roadside or driveway installs simple.

Built for Real-World Conditions: Marine-Grade Protection Where It Counts

If you’re around water or humid conditions, you’ll appreciate how this hub is built. The double-lip grease seal (12192TB) keeps moisture out and grease in, while zinc-plated hardware resists corrosion. The strong cast iron hub is painted black for another layer of protection, so it stays in good shape even after repeated exposure to wet conditions.

Stay Prepared Anywhere: Compact Carrying Case for Onboard Storage

This kit comes in a sturdy carrying case with a handle, keeping everything together and ready when you need it. Whether it’s for a quick fix on the road or keeping a spare onboard, the compact case makes it easy to store without taking up much room. It’s peace of mind knowing your replacement hub is right where you need it.

Everything You Need in One Package: Complete Hub Assembly Kit

No scrambling for small parts—this hub comes with everything required to replace one assembly: bearings, races, grease seal, grease cap, lug nuts, and a cotter pin. Each part fits neatly into place for a straightforward install that gets you back on the road quicker.

Made to Handle Steady Loads: Strong Build for 2,700-lb Axles

Designed for 2,700-lb axles and wheels up to 12", this idler hub uses 1/2" x 1-7/8" studs and carries up to 1,350 lbs per hub. The precise machining keeps your wheel running true and smooth mile after mile—perfect for keeping your trailer rolling safely under load.

Before purchasing, it’s important to confirm your trailer’s bolt pattern to ensure compatibility with this hub. The following visuals show how to identify and measure both even and odd bolt patterns.

Determining Bolt Pattern

1. Count the lug holes

Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).

Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug

2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.

Center to Center
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"

2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).

Center to Outside Edge
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Fast shipping and exactly as described. Installed on my boat trailer.

by:

Stacy of etrailer was fantastic. I did not know much about trailer repair parts but Stacy walked me through explaining the parts names and usage for the items I needed and when I checked other sites they did not have my products nor did they ship for free. Great experience!

by:

I order all of my trailer accessories from your company. Fast shipping professional customer service and the parts always fit

by:

Listed as in stock, shipped as two separate packages. Second package arrived without nuts, split pin, and dust cap. Probably because it was package carelessly. Kind of like my wrong size chrome caps that were just thrown, uncovered, in a giant box with my trailer tires on my previous order. I am sure Joshua will sort it out because he takes pride in in job and is a professional, but with two jacked up orders in a row, I’m done with etrailer.com.

by:

These hubs claim to be pre-greased.There was certainly some grease on the bearings but woefully inadequate and required me to pull out the roller bearings and properly pack them with grease. Mine definitely weren't ready for prime time. Check the bearings and pack them properly with grease before you rely on these for an emergency. Also, they come with 1.25" inner grease seal. Didn't fit my axle that required a 1.50" ID seal. Swapped seals and all was good!!!

by:

Great assistance identifying the correct model for replacement hub.
They also expedited delivery. Product fits perfectly and repair is completed at much less cost than my local trailer parts retailer. I'll be back!

Replacement Hubs and Bearings installed without trouble and have been working fine over the past year. Much easier as a DIYer to replace the entire assembly with pre-greased bearings.Good fit, good performance.

  • Replacement Hubs for 2,700 lb Axle
Based on your photo it looks like you have 2,700 lb axles, and we do have hubs for that size axle. However, you will need to confirm the bearings your current hub has. You will need to take apart your current hub assembly and look at the bearings themselves; wipe away the grease and you should be able to see the part number stamped directly on them. If you are unable to find them, you need to use a digital caliper to measure your spindle to the thousandths of an inch where the bearings...

  • Compatible Hub for TRU44FR BTR Spindle
The # TRU44FR spindle you'd looked at is compatible with an L44649 inner and outer bearing, like what's used by the # CE13109. The hub includes the inner and outer bearing and race, the grease seal, the dust cap and the lug nuts. The hub has a 4 on 4 bolt pattern. For a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern, use # AKIHUB-545-2-LFEZ-2K.

  • How to Find Replacement for 4 Lug Hubs on Utility Trailer
Hi David; we don't have a way for you to mail it to us so you will have to identify the hub to find the right replacement. Identifying the hub is pretty easy and will save you money since you won't have to pay to ship a hub. Based on the bolt pattern, I'm sure you have a straight spindle that uses either # L44649 inner and outer or # L44643 inner and outer bearings. Take a look at your bearings to see if they have part numbers stamped in the side. If not, you can measure the inner diameter...

  • Is There a Trailer Hub that Fits Spindle with 1.06 inch Bearing and 1.25 inch Grease Seal
Hey Steven, you do have a unique setup but we do have the CE Smith 2,700 lb axle hub part # CE13109 that matches the bearing and seal dimensions you have/need. This has a 4 on 4 inch wheel bolt pattern but if you need 5 on 4-1/2 inch you'd instead want the part # DX77UR. Thanks for all of your pictures!

For a hub that matches these, along with the 4 on 4 bolt pattern, we have the CE Smith Trailer Hub Assembly w/ Carrying Case for 2,700-lb Axles - 4 on 4 - Pre-Greased # CE13109. • Hub Recommendation for Trailer with 2,700 lb Axle Capacity
I would agree you are going to have a much easier time finding wheels with a 4 on 4 inch bolt pattern than 5 on 5-1/2 inch as that's not a very common size. Most likely the hub part # CE13109 that you referenced is a confirmed fit but you might want to verify the bearing numbers of your current hub to be sure. If your bearing numbers are both L44649 or have an inner diameter of 1.06 this will fit and work well.

  • Will CE Smith 57-1/2" Long 1.8k Axle Work With 4 on 4 Inch Hubs On Harbor Freight Trailer
Yes, you are able to mount a 4 on 4 inch bolt pattern hub on the CE Smith Trailer Axle # CE33201GA. I recommend the CE Smith Trailer Hub Assembly # CE13109 to pair with this axle. To ensure this axle will fit on your Harbor Freight trailer, I recommend taking a hub face and spring center measurement of your current axle. There are multiple ways to measure the length of an axle beam, but the hub-face-to-hub-face and spring-center-to-spring-center lengths are the most accurate. Hub face...

  • Trailer Hubs for a 2500 Pound Axle
It sounds like you might have a BTR spindle such as # TRU44FR as an example. It takes bearing L44649 for the inner and outer bearing. We have a couple of hubs that you could use.
