Replacement Trailer Hub for BT-100 F10 Hub
Updated 06/05/2024 | Published 05/31/2024 >
Question:
I have a BT-100 F10 hub assembly, 4 on 4, that came off a circa 1981 Calkins boat/catamaran trailer, light duty. Id like to replace the bearings, races and seal, or obtain a complete pre-greased hub assembly, like the C.E Smith 13109 Bearings/races inside and out: 44649/44610. Grease seal: 34823inch ID 1-1/4 1-1/16inch spindle, total length approximately 4-13/16, which includes: 1inch length of thread, 3-5/16inch length of 1-1/16inch diameter straight for hub assembly, 1/2inch length of 1-1/4inch diameter at weld to axle. In the middle of the axle, between the races, theres pitting on top of spindle. Not sure, but I dont think the pitting will be a problem. The trailer does not get used in the water nowadays. The races are centered in the hub assembly, separated, back-to-back, by a distance of approximately 2-5/16. The races are not seated against the step up to the inner cast surface. There is a 4/16inch gap between the two. If I replaced the races, Im not sure I could position them properly. Ive included a few photos. Do you think the CE Smith 13109 would fit my spindle. Thanks, Matt

Hey Matt, thanks for all of the info on your current hub, based on that the correct replacement would be the CE Smith part # CE13109 which is pre-greased and ready to install. Your spindle looks fine too.
