If you already have a fifth-wheel hitch but need to tow a gooseneck trailer, this adapter makes it easy. The Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Trailer Coupler Adapter - Inner Tube - Round - 25K lbs connects your gooseneck trailer to your fifth-wheel hitch without any complicated conversion. It lets you keep one hitch setup and still handle both trailer types, so you don’t have to swap or store bulky hardware between jobs.
Built with sturdy steel, this coupler tube is made to take on tough pulls. It’s SAE J2638 compliant and rated for a 25,000 lb weight capacity, giving you the strength needed for loaded trailers without worrying about flex or fatigue. Whether you’re hauling equipment or livestock, the solid build keeps things reliable under pressure.
Different trailers sit at different heights, and this adapter gives you the flexibility to match that. The tube offers an 8" range of vertical adjustment with precisely spaced holes—2-11/16" from center to center—so you can fine-tune the fit between your trailer and hitch. Once pinned in place, it locks in solid for confident towing every time.
The round inner tube is designed to fit most standard 4" round outer tubes, making setup simple. One reviewer mentioned installing it in about ten minutes—just slide it into your gooseneck coupler, line up the holes, and secure it with the heavy-duty load-bearing pin (sold separately). Because it comes unpainted, you can paint it yourself to match your trailer for a clean, finished look.
Once you’re finished hauling, pull the pin and slide the adapter out—your truck bed is clear again. With no bulky fifth-wheel base left behind, you can use your bed for loading gear or other work without obstruction. It’s a straightforward way to keep your setup flexible and ready for whatever comes next.

While certainly not the prettiest, this adapter is definitely strong! Thanks for sending in the photos, too. That property looks gorgeous! Is that your land or a campsite somewhere?

Hey Glenn. That is definitely not the outcome we want you to experience. I have a few questions to see if we can get this leveled out for you. Are you on the bottom hole of the coupler? If not, is the inner tube bottoming out and not allowing you to use the bottom hole? Is your 5th wheel hitch on the lowest adjustment? If you are on the bottom hole and at the lowest adjustment, I have a few possible solutions but I want to start here. let me know when you can.

Excellent, I converted all my goosenecks to fifth-wheel kingpin setups. While the fifth-wheel hitch takes up more room in the bed than the gooseneck ball, the fifth-wheel couples and uncouples without having to get up into the bed. Additionally, with this setup, I no longer get the sway when braking or hard accelerating that comes with a gooseneck. This is true on all four of my four formerly gooseneck trailers.
Do you have a question about this 5th Wheel Gooseneck Adapter?
