Typically, when choosing a bunk ladder for your RV, you must decide whether you want a ladder with hooks for a temporary installation or a ladder that is permanently attached to the bunk. This bunk ladder from Stromberg Carlson allows for either temporary or permanent installation, so you can decide which installation method best fits your needs. The ladder comes with large hooks to secure over the bunk rail, making it easy to move the ladder around to where you want it. If the large hooks do not fit your bunk rail and if drilling into the side of your bunk is not an issue, then you can bolt on the included mounting brackets in a fixed position. The small ladder hooks slide into and out of the brackets so you can easily install and remove the ladder when you want. Because both installation options allow you to remove the ladder from the bunk rail, you can place the ladder on top of the bunk when not in use, keeping your RV open so that it's easier to move around.

Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Stromberg Carlson RV Bunk Ladder in black, made out of aluminum, 66 inches tall, Part Number LA-466B. This interior RV ladder rack has four steps for easy and quick access to the top bunk. It's made of a sturdy aluminum construction that is durable and lightweight. The RV bunk ladder has rubber feet on the bottom that won't damage your hardwood or your carpet. It also helps to keep the ladder in place. The rubber feet can also be removed, and you can cut off a little bit of the bottom of the ladder to help accommodate the height of your bunk.
The steps of this bunk ladder have a rubber pad to help cushion your feet and also have grooves on the top, which is going to help trap mud, dirt, and debris from getting into your sheets. The bunk ladder, directly out of the box, is ready to quickly clamp to the rail of your bunk. You can do this by using a Philips head screwdriver to loosen up the bracket and swing it around. As you can see, with the bracket in this position, we can quickly clamp it onto the rail of our bunk. Another way to attach it, for more of a permanent installation, we can remove this top bracket and install the other bracket, which is included. With this in place, we'll use this track system, which we will mount directly to the rail of our bunk. We use the included two silver screws, which will secure this portion to the bunk.
With this piece secured, we will then just slide this L-bracket into position. The weight capacity for this bunk ladder is 200-300 lbs. It has a rung spacing of 12 inches. It is 66 inches tall x 13 inches wide and comes with a one-year warranty. Now that we've gone over some of the special features and shown you the two ways to install it, that'll complete today's review of the Stromberg Carlson RV Bunk Ladder, Part Number LA-466B. .

Feel safe and secure as you climb up to your RV bunk using this lightweight aluminum ladder with rubber treads. Ladder can hook anywhere along the bunk rail with large, pre-installed hooks, or brackets can be bolted onto the rail at a fixed position.I bought this ladder to go with my daughter‘s bunkbed. The bed has a built-in ladder on the ends but the way the bed is situated in the room, it needed to be on the side. After some research, I found this one and it really is exactly the right thing for the bed. My main comment is that it’s a bit flimsy. I only weigh 150 pounds but she says it really bends when I climb up to her bed. If you weigh 200 pounds or more it is likely you will break it. It’s perfect for a scrawny seven-year-old however!
This is good quality ladder, I cut it to fit our micro minnie 1700bh. Cut 11” off top pushed the screw holed out and put back in tube I cut 5” off bottom. Works great. Thank you
Pros: + Well-constructed aluminum + Very light + Soft pads for bare feet + Arrived promptly + Came with mounting hardware! Cons: + Really only that, being aluminum, it's fairly bendy / flexible, and the instructions require that it not be used at greater than an 11 degree angle. Basically, it should be used almost straight up-and-down, so that the force of the climber runs parallel down the length of the long tubes. Other than that and you can feel how precarious it is! It would be easy to bend in half if used the wrong way
Works as advertised. Did have to trim 18 inches, a little from each end since our bunk isn't that high. Trimmed with a pipe and tubing cutter without issue. Just be careful not to drop the cinch nut into the leg when attaching the bunk hooks. Best to put the bolt through the hook and thread the cinch nut onto the bolt. Then drop it into place. Learned the hard way, dropped one in, it slid down to the rung rivet and wouldn't slide back out. Fortunately I had right size threaded rod to fish it out.
For being a ladder that claims to hold a good amount of weight this feels pretty flimsey and will be getting returned. This does not feel like it will support the weight it claims and ended up being narrower than expected.
Works great, easy to cut to the correct length. mine was about 2 inches too long. comes with mounting brackets AND hangers so you can use it either way.
I placed the order for this product on a Tuesday, the Service provided was Excellent, for I received the item the follwing day! I purchased this as an access ladder for my daughter's college dorm loft bed. I removed 3 inches from the bottom of the legs, placed the ladder at a safe angle, placed rubber boots back on, and the hooks on top latched perfectly to the bed. Made my daughter's life a lot easier, Dad WINS!
We bought this to use as a ladder for a lift we just built for my daughter. The mounting options worked great for our needs. We especially like that it can be removed if needed and easily put back.
