Hi everyone. Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking together at this Demco Easy Latch gooseneck coupler. Now, this is a round inner tube. It fits a standard two and 5/16 inch gooseneck ball, and it's rated at 30,000 pounds gross trailer weight. Now this is what's called an easy couple, or easy latch, and if you're not familiar with them, basically all you have to do is just literally set this down over the top of your gooseneck ball, and it's gonna automatically lock, couple, and be connected on itself, just because you put the weight down on it.
And I went ahead and got a two and 5/16 inch gooseball to show you this. So basically, you got your ball set up on the gooseneck itself, or in the truck rather, and then the gooseneck coupler just comes straight down. (coupler clicking) And as you heard it click, the weight of everything connected. I'm gonna tilt it to the side so you can see it, and now it's not going anywhere. And then to disengage it, all you literally have to do is pull this lever up, and then turn your, or you know, twist your jack, and it's gonna come right off.
So very easy to use. I'll show you that one last time. Again, lever's down, just drop the gooseneck over the ball, automatically engaged, it's not going anywhere. And then to disengage, pull the lever. And as you can see the mechanism inside moved out of the way to then let that engage.
But it does it automatically, which is really nice. I like that on this particular one. So again, if you've never used easy latch couplers, that's how they work. Pretty simple design, pretty simple concept. You do have four holes here.
The space in between those holes is two and three quarter inches apart on center, giving you a total adjustment of about eight and 1/4 inches. Now, from the top of here, all the way to the bottom lip, I got 28 and 3/4 inches long or tall, however you want to word it. And this again, is your standard inner tube, and the outer diameter here across is four inches. So you would need an outer tube already on your trailer. If you don't have one, we sell 'em here separately. Now this is a black powder coat finish over a nice hardened steel. It's gonna resist rust and corrosion. And it's very easy to use, as I just demonstrated for you. So if you're looking for a new inter coupler, this might be a a good option for you as far as ease of use and those kind of things. Well folks, that's gonna wrap it up for our quick look together. I'm Steven. As always, stay safe while you're towing. Thanks for watching.
good price on this!
Nice product
Fixed the issue perfectly. Fast delivery saved us a day timewise.
Great, well built coupler. I was looking to get my trailer level and this gained me about two inches. Trailer is being pulled by a 5500 with a dump bed.
Anyone who owns/pulls multiple trailers without an EZ-Latch, is missin' out. They really should be an industry standard. You only have to flip the switch when unhooking. I'm not getting any younger. That's 50% less climbing into the bed of my truck, when I'm just moving trailers around the lot.
Direct replacement, little tight going into the shank tube but luckily i already installed hydraulic jacks… This is all in the point of making hitching QUICK and EASY!!!
Very nice coupler. I did not know these existed. I have used the old lift pin, hammer the latch and lock the pin style thinking there was no other way to hitch up a gooseneck. I purchased a used trailer and found out the coupler was blown out. Searched to find a replacement. Found once again that e-trailer was superior in price and selection to anywhere else in the world. I found my old standard style coupler but also saw this comparable item. For $20 more than the standard coupler I could have one that latches itself when set on the ball. No brainer. I asked my 10 year old son which one he would get and he did not hesitate in selecting this one. After my purchase, I found an ad for a brand new trailer like mine that listed as a selling point it had this same coupler. I installed it and used it once so far. It worked flawlessly as the e-trailer video suggested it would. On a side note, in the past it seemed I always had to pay shipping at e-trailer but with this order I did not. That was greatly appreciated also. Even more value working with e-trailer. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase.
The product itself is great. But when replacing the round tube gooseneck couplers. The holes do not line up. So your latch is not straight. Just need to give the holes a slight angle. As one of your competitor offers. I purchased 3 of these, at the same time, not knowing. So either return or just deal with the latch not straight. Hope that helps others.
I purchased it so I could lower my trailer more, but the holes are not there. I will drill some and it will work great. I like the latch.
I really like it!

Glad you and your son found it, Dennis! These have only been out for about a year now and they are really starting to gain in popularity. Demco's eZ-Latch has been my preferred style for standard trailer couplers and I was pretty stoked when I heard they were going to integrate it into a gooseneck coupler. What kind of trailer did you install it on?
