Updated 10/16/2026 | Published 10/14/2026

Question:

What is the measurement from the bottom of the plate to the top of the the welded gusset angles? I need the tube to go way up in the receiver tube of my trailer, I need the neck of my trailer as low as possible.

Thanks for letting us help Jimmy. On the Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Trailer Coupler Adapter - Inner Tube # KPG5-R25-IP the distance from the bottom of the plate to the top of the angles gussets is 4". I will include a graphic that shows this measurement as well.

What are you planning to haul with this adapter?

I love this adapter as it makes it so nice for me to pull my 5th wheel trailer and then my dump trailer without changing to a ball . And it’s so easy to hook up to by yourself. I welded mine onto the trailer and for me it was pretty simple and then touched up the paint

I also needed my tube to be all the way up inside the nexk of my trailer to keep the trailer down close to bed for ride height purposes. I ended up drilling another set of holes down low to drop mine another 2” and it worked perfectly. I also cut off an inch from top of neck so I could place my top rubber cap back on the neck to keep water out. It would have worked fine like I ordered it, but I am super picky about my ride heights, which is why I modified mine. These are really well make and the price is very good for the quality!
