  • Standard, heavy-duty coupler

  • Zinc plating provides corrosion resistance
  • Bolt-on installation

Specs:

  • Application: disc brakes

  • Capacity: 8,000 lbs
  • Maximum tongue weight: 800 lbs
  • 1-Year warranty

When you apply the brakes in your tow vehicle, deceleration occurs and momentum pushes your trailer toward the rear of your vehicle. With surge brake systems, the actuator is triggered as your trailer moves forward while the tow vehicle slows. The actuator telescopes, applying force to its master cylinder, which in turn supplies the necessary hydraulic pressure to engage the trailer's brakes.

Electric reverse lockout with solenoid is automatically activated when the tow vehicle is shifted into reverse. To use this feature, you must have a 5-pole flat, 6-way round or 7-pole wiring harness.

exactly as described and a perfect replacement. Came quicky.

The latch is a pain, it's always getting stuck. It is such a pain that I just ordered the Demco. Save yourself the headache and buy the better product from the get go.

by:

Brakes work great, had to get additional parts from the auto parts store to make the braked more serviceable in the future.

by:

Love the coupler, heavy, built well, nice unit. I only wish e-trailer would of notified me that it was on back order prior to taking my money. Ended up moving a vacation back about a month because of it.

by:

I love etrailer everything was perfect

by:

I want you to know I am very happy with the actuator. I installed it and have used the boat several times since. The actuator is quality and the service from e-trailer is always excellent. I will continue to use your services as needed.

This product has been great. I installed it about 1 1/2 years ago and it works well. The nice thing about is that it can be used on a range of ball sizes. The only thing is that I need to remember to tighten it up onto the ball (when I leave my home) and check it again before leaving the boat launch (just to make sure nobody loosened it while I was away fishing).

  • What is the Mounting Hole Spacing on Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator T4747220
I went out to the warehouse and measured the bolt holes on actuator # T4747220. The 2 larger holes are spaced 5 inches apart on center. I have included a picture showing this and other measurements for you.

  • Is there a Way to Replace Slide On Demco DA91 Disc Brake Actuator For No Coupler Drop?
We do have the Replacement Inner Slide # DM12808-97 you could use with the Demco Trailer Coupler # DM15791-97 on your Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator # DM8750311. This would allow you to position the coupler at several different heights to best level your trailer. Otherwise you would have to drill new holes for the Actuator # T4747220 which has a straight coupler out of the actuator.

  • What Brake Actuator Replaces The TDE Model LP8000 Class IV Actuator
I do have a solution for your you. The replacement brake actuator that you need is either the Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator w/ Electric Lockout - Disc - 2-5/16" Ball - 8,000 lbs, part # T4747220, which will work if your trailer has disc brakes or the Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator - Drum - 2-5/16" Ball - Bolt On - 8,000 lbs, part # T4079200, which works for trailers with drum brakes. I have included product description links and video demo links below.

  • Recommended Replacement Actuator for a TDE Model LP8000 Class lV Actuator
We have a couple of options for replacing your TDE model LP8500 actuator. The Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator item # T4079200, you were looking at, will work great if you have drum brakes. If you have disk brakes you will need item # T4747220. These actuators have a slightly lower capacity at 8,000 lbs but this will still be sufficient on your Mastercraft X46 trailer.

  • Replacement Options For Tie Down Engineering LP8000 Disc Brake Actuator
There are a couple options to replace the 8,000 lb TDE LP8000 disc brake actuator (though not just the inner member). One is from Dexter and the other Demco: - Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator w/ Drop and Electric Lockout - Disc # DM8750311 - Dexter Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator w/ Electric Lockout - Disc # T4747220 Both attach to a 2-5/16" hitch ball and fit a 3" wide trailer tongue; the biggest difference is the Demco gives you a built-in 4" drop while the Dexter does not.

  • Replacement for UFP A60 Actuator on EZ Loader Boat Trailer
To replace your old UFP A60 actuator I recommend using the Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator w/ Electric Lockout - Disc - 2-5/16" Ball - 8,000 lbs # T4747220 which comes with an electric lockout. This actuator bolts on to 3" wide channel tongues and fits 2-5/16" hitch balls. This actuator is designed to work with disc brakes and will work on trailers with up to 8000-lbs capacities. I've linked review videos of these for you to check out.

  • Is an Electric Reverse Lock Out Required for Backing Up a Trailer with Surge Brakes
There are 3 ways to allow a trailer with surge brakes to back up. There can be an electric reverse lockout, a manual lockout, or you can use free-backing brake assemblies if the brakes are drums. The easiest and most-preferred method is the electric reverse lockout like what comes on the Titan Model 6 part # T4747220. Or for just the lockout you would want the part # T4748800. I also attached a link to a page that has all of the free backing brakes we offer.

  • Can Titan Model 6 Surge Brake Actuator Replace GDC Model 80
The Titan Surge Trailer Actuator part # T4747220 will pretty easily install in place of what you have now but looking at the picture of what you have and what looks like an equal distance between the mounting holes it would seem most likely that you would have to drill at least one new hole to install the # T4747220 that you referenced. Or you could have it welded.

  • Master Cylinder to Convert Titan Surge-o-Matic Model 6 Actuator to Disc Brake Operation
You are correct that disc brakes require an actuator with higher psi pressure than what is required by drum brakes. Drum brakes need pressure of 1000-psi but discs need 1500 to 1600-psi. You can convert your Titan Surge-O-Matic Model 6 actuator to disc brake operation by replacing the master cylinder with part # T1777405. • Recommended Brake Actuator With Lock Out for 7000 LBS. Boat Trailer
The standard tongue weight on a trailer is approximately 10-15 percent of the GTW. On a boat trailer it generally stays at 10 percent because most of the weight of a boat is towards the back end of the trailer, reducing the need for more tongue weight. This is why all of our couplers have a tongue weight of 10 percent of the GTW.
