Features to know about

Steady, Controlled Towing Every Mile: 6,000-lb Rated Dexter Axle Beam Keeps Tracking Straight

When stability matters most, this axle brings dependable balance to your rig. The round beam is built from high-strength steel with a 6,000-lb weight capacity. Its engineered bend creates a zero-camber angle, so the tires keep even contact across the tread. That means confident straight-line movement, steady acceleration, and predictable tracking down the road.

Smooth, Low Ride for Easy Loading: Underslung Design with Welded Spring Seats

Loading and unloading gets easier when the trailer rides lower. The welded spring seats sit on the underside of the 3"-diameter axle, keeping the deck closer to the ground for quick access. The 71-1/2" spring-center spacing and 86-1/2" hub-face measurement give it a balanced fit and smooth suspension geometry that holds steady under load.

Simple Bearing Maintenance Without the Mess: E-Z Lube Spindles with Built-In Grease Zerks

Keeping bearings greased shouldn’t mean taking everything apart. The straight E-Z Lube spindles come with grease zerks built into the ends, so you can push in fresh grease right through the hub. The flow reaches both inner and outer bearings, forcing out old grease and cutting down on downtime. It’s a clean, quick way to keep things rolling smoothly.

Built-In Strength Where It Counts: Welded Brake Flanges and Durable Steel Tube

Every critical mounting point is ready to go—spindles, spring seats, and 5-bolt brake flanges are all welded solid. The axle tube has a .16" wall thickness for durability and weighs about 55 lbs, giving it the backbone to handle tough miles without flexing or fatigue. It’s a no-drop, straight spindle setup that just works.

Reliable Fit with Proven Dexter Quality: Ready for Custom Builds or Replacements

Whether fabricating a new suspension setup or replacing worn hardware, this beam is a dependable foundation. It matches common hub and bearing sizes—inner bearing 25580 and outer bearing 15123—and pairs with compatible hubs like the 8-lug #42866UC3-EZ and brake assemblies such as #AKEBRK-7-SA. It’s a straightforward, standard-grade piece built for long service and solid performance.

I ordered 2 axles on Wednesday night. They arrived Saturday afternoon two days early than expected. Thanks so much. I was back on the road in no time.

Great product, even better customer service!!! 10/10 recommend
My only stop for my trailer needs!!!

by:

I did not run into any problems installing this 3500 pound trailer axle. All the welds look good and the measurements were spot on. I love the bend in the axle to compensate for the weight of the load and to put the proper camber on the tires. I will keep a close eye on the wear of the tires. But so far everything looks good. You guys also are super fast at getting the product here. I really appreciate that, along with the free shipping. Simply fantastic I have used etrailer twice and have been 100 percent satisfying keep up the good work.

by:

I couldn't have been happier with both price and speedy shipping on these parts.

by:

Always top notch. I have used etrailer.com for decades and will continue to use them.

by:

The staff at etrailer was so helpful to get me the right axle and get it to me super fast!!

by:

This axle and spindle assembly are high quality. Identical to the Dexter axle and spindle ass. that were on the trailer originally. A Big Tex S35 6' x 10' trailer that is 30+ years old.
I got the grease zerk EZ Lube version. The hubs fit perfectly on the spindles

1 axle was plastic wrapped and shipped without the rubber protective cover on 1 end. I had to dress the threads to be able to use the axle.

by:

Wry nic product, only one suggestion is that you can tell what size bearings go on this axle.

by:

Everytime I call with questions about an item I'm about to purchase they are extremely helpful

by:

A great replacement axle for my ATV tra iler.

by:

It has been a year. The axle has preformed flawlessly. 5-star because it exactly matched the existing axle for bearing seal part and brake assembly which were moved from the existing lippert 5200# axle to this one. This 6000# axle provides a bit of margin for weight over the existing.

Still working well. Double thumbs up.

I replaced one axle with a 5200 one and it’s been great. Now I’m going to replace both with 6000 lbs axles but it’s going to be in the fall.

After installing the 6,000 lbs Dexter axle I took it on a 1,200 trip to Tucson. I had made an appointment to have the alignment checked. They ended up removing both axles and straighten them. I noticed that it pulled easier and I didn’t blow out any tires on my 6 month winter trip.

@PaulS I would say not blowing any tires on a 6 month trip is definitely a win, Paul! Axle replacement can cause the alignment to get a little out of whack and I am glad to hear it got straightened out for you (lame pun intended). Where all did you go on your winter trip?

by:

etrailer had the best prices and excellent customer service, Thanks Ian! Shipping was fast and free to boot. I bent the front axle on my in-laws fifth wheel camper and this axle fit the bill. I had to order a set of spring seats and weld them to the opposite sides. The original seats were at 68.5 " centers and that configuration was unavailable anywhere.

by:

I placed my order on Thursday and it arrived Saturday. The axle beams were wrapped well in heavy plastic. They arrived in excellent condition except for a crushed and broken brake wire. I will have to remove the spring seats and weld new ones on since my camper has a 68 1/2 inch frame but that combination was hard to find. I’m am planning on using these to upgrade from Lippert 3500# axles, one of which we bent last year. I would definitely recommend etrailer and plan on buying more of the components for my project from them.

  • Can Trailer Axle Spring Seats be Relocated If Needed
You can weld on new spring seats on your axle without compromising the integrity. So if you went with the part # 8327826 you could install the new seats with part # TRSS300 which would be easier than moving the brackets on the trailer frame. The extra width of the wheels being pushed out would not be an issue either. Going to a spring with more leaves would not be an issue either. We have the part # e94SR which is a 6 leaf 6k axle spring that is 26 inches long as well.

Hey David. The Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with E-Z Lube Spindles item # 8327826, you were looking at, is our closest option. It's got the 6,000 lbs capacity and the 86-1/2" hub face dimension, however the spring seats are mounted at 71-1/2". The Dexter item # 8327826 is a 3" diameter axle so if you're unable to find one with spring seats at 68-1/2", you can install two of the Spring Seat for Typical 5,200-lb to 7,200-lb, Round Trailer Axles with 3" Diameter item # TRSS300. Hi Gary; the highest capacity we have that matches your current axle length is 6,000 lbs. The Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with E-Z Lube Spindles - 86-1/2" Long # 8327826 will work as a replacement. Since the spring center measurement is slightly different you will also need to cut off the spring seats and weld on # TRSS300 to match your 68-1/2" measurement. If you want brakes as well you can use the # 23-458-459.

These will work with the Dexter axle. You could do this however, it might not be a good idea. Increasing the capacity of your trailer's suspension will not increase the trailer's capacity. • Replacing the Axle on a Gooseneck Horse Trailer
An axle flip kit like part # K71-384-00 will raise the trailer the diameter of the axle plus the height of the leaf spring pack. I do have options for you but rotating the axle to where the bend faces the other direction is not one of them. The bend in the axle will actually straighten out once a load is placed on the trailer and if this was reversed, the axle would lose capacity. Now from this point forward you have two options both of which entail replacing the axle. Since your current...
