The rubber strips that run along the top channels stay in place while sealing those gaps—no trimming needed—so you get a smoother, quieter ride.
Installing accessories shouldn’t mean breaking out a utility knife. With these bars, the push-down rubber strips in the top channels let you press your hardware straight into the track. The strip closes back around it to keep out wind and weather, so setup is clean and quick.
You can use these crossbars with just about any gear carrier you already own. They’re compatible with accessories that mount in the top channels or clamp around the bars—so whether it’s bikes, skis, luggage boxes, or fishing gear, you can switch things up for any adventure without swapping racks.
If you want extra security when your car’s parked overnight or at a remote trailhead, you can add Yakima Same Key System (SKS) lock cores (sold separately). They help deter theft of the rack so your setup stays where it belongs until you’re ready to roll out again.

Tghe racks have remained on since I installed them correctly, no thanks to your video. I read the manual it came with.
