Question:
Hello, On a 2015 Ford Fusion naked roof the 58inch Yakima bars seem a bit long, will the 48inch bars work on this model? Thank you

Expert Reply:
The 48 inch long Yakima crossbars would be just slightly too short to fit properly on a 2015 Ford Fusion. But what you can do is use the 58 inch bars, # Y00409, and shorten them using a saw with a blade that can cut steel.
What I would do is go ahead and install the roof rack and then mark the bars where I would cut them. You will need some of the bar sticking out each end to fit the end caps on.
The cuts will need to be straight otherwise the end caps will not fit and water could get inside the bars.
In addition to the bars you will also need Towers # Y28TR, SL adapter # Y03536, front Clips # Y06110, and rear Clips # Y06102.
