Yakima Roof Rack Installation - 2012 Toyota 4Runner

Today we have our 2012 Toyota Four Runner, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Yakima Core Bar Timberline Tower Roof Rack System. Now this system is specifically designed to mount to your raised rails on your Four Runner. As you can see I've already got in place just to give you a good idea of what it looks like. Now with this, you're gonna be able to carry roof mounted accessories, things like bike racks, kayak carriers, cargo boxes, and more. It features 50 inch long steel crossbars. You could see here how they span across the whole roof, that way you'll be able to carry not one or two bike racks, but maybe three bike racks if that's what you're into, possibly even two kayaks.Now I mentioned that they are steel.



Yakima Roof Rack Installation - 2012 Toyota 4Runner

Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Yakima JetStream Crossbar, TimberLine Tower Roof Rack System. I've already got it set up, just to give you a good idea what it looks like. This system is specifically designed to mount to your raised rails on your 4Runner. You're going to be able to carry roof mount accessories, things like bike racks, kayak carriers, cargo boxes, and much more. Now you'll notice we have a lot of bar overhang here. The crossbars are actually 70" long, these are going to allow us to maximize our carrying capacity with our accessories.

Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner we're going to be doing a test fit on the Yakima JetStream crossbar Timberline Tower roof rack system. You can see here how they span across the whole roof and then some on top of our 4Runner. This is going to allow us to maximize our accessory capacity. So not only can we use that area on top of our roof, but we can also use on the other side of that Timberline Tower.

Rola Rail Extreme RBU Series Roof Rack Installation - 2012 Toyota 4Runner

Today, on our 2012 Toyota 4 Runner, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Rola Rail Extreme RBU Series Roof Rack System. Now, this system is specifically designed to mount to your raised rails on your 4 Runner. We've already got it set up, as you can see here. With this system, you're gonna be able to carry roof mounted accessories, things like bike racks, cargo carriers, kayak carriers and more. It features 53 inch long aluminum cross bars. This is gonna allow us to carry multiple accessories on our roof, so perhaps you'd like to carry two, even three bike racks up there, or maybe even two kayaks.



Malone SteelTop Square Crossbars Roof Rack Installation - 2017 Toyota 4Runner

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Toyota Forerunner, we're gonna be test-fitting the Malone steel top roof rack, part number MPG201. This can also apply to part number MPG202 as far as the install is concerned. The Malone steel top roof rack system is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof while freeing up space inside your vehicle. This can carry bike racks, cargo baskets, as well as hard-top cargo boxes. They do have lockable end caps, so these are gonna be secured to your roof rack system once they're installed, and they're very easy to install. They just have this bolt here in the center that'll tighten down the clamper on your factory side rails, and then you're good to go.



Yakima Roof Rack Installation - 2017 Toyota 4Runner

Speaker 1: Today in our 2017 Toyota Forerunner we're going to be test fitting the Yakima JetStream Roof Rack System. Which consists of part number Y00425 these are the JetStream Cross Bars, 50 inches long in black and is also going to be using part number Y00147 and these are the Timberline Towers for the Yakima Cross Bars, particularly for the factory raised side rails.The Yakima JetStream Roof Rack System is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof, while freeing up space inside your vehicle. This thing carries bike racks, cargo baskets, as well as kayak carriers.The bar's themselves do have an aerodynamic shape to them and that coupled with the rubber strip up at the top, as well as the bottom that's going to cut down on the wind noise and drag while you drive.Another advantage after removing the end cap is you see you can use T-track accessories with this. What sets this apart from other style T-track accessories, normally you'd have to remove the strip, cut it to length put the accessory in and then put the strip back around it. With this it's a little different. You can actually push this top portion down, and slide your T-track accessory in without having to cut the strip initially at all.The end caps are lockable by removing this plastic piece here.



Thule Roof Rack Installation - 2017 Toyota 4Runner

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Toyota Forerunner, we're gonna be test fitting the Thule square load bar roof rack system, consisting of part numbers THLB58, these are the Thule squared load bars, 58 inches long, as well as part number TH450, and this is the Thule Crossroad roof mounted roof railing foot back. And this installation will also apply to part number TH45058. The Thule SquareBar roof rack system is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof while freeing up space inside your vehicle. This can carry bike racks, cargo baskets, or cargo boxes. There are square bars, so they will make a little bit of noise while you drive. Thule does have fairings that you can find on etrailer.com to cut down the wind noise and drag, or you can upgrade to the Thule Aerobars, part number THARB53.These are very easy to install.



Thule Roof Rack Installation - 2017 Toyota 4Runner

Speaker 1: So in our 2017 Toyota 4Runner, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Aeroblade Edge roof rack system, part number TH7503-TH7503. This also comes in black as part number TH7503B-TH7503B. The Thule Aeroblade Edge roof rack system is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories while maintaining a factory style look with your crossbars. The bars themselves do have an aerodynamic shape to them, and that coupled with the rubber strip up at the top, that's going to cut down the wind noise and drag while you drive. Also, if we remove our end caps, you can see that you can use T-track accessories with this roof rack system by simply removing the strip, cutting it to length, putting your accessory into place, and then replacing the strip.There is a downside to this, however, because these are so flush mounted, like you see here, you do lose a little bit of space that you would with the bars that go past the actual roof rack system itself. At each of our end caps, they do have a portion where you can knock it out and place in a Thule lock core system, which is sold separately, and you can find it on etrailer.com.



Thule Roof Rack Installation - 2017 Toyota 4Runner

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Toyota 4Runner, we're going to be test fitting the Thule AeroBlade Roof Rack System consisting of part numbers THARB53. These are the AreoBlade Load Bars, 53" long. These also come in black as part number THARB53B. We'll also be using part number TH450R, and this is the Thule Rapid Crossroad Foot Pack System. This is going to fit around your factory raised side rails. The Thule AeroBlade Roof Rack System is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof while freeing up space inside your vehicle.

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Toyota 4Runner we're going to be test fitting the Yakima RoundBar Roof Rack System, consisting of part numbers Y00408, these are the round 48 crossbars, part number Y03536, this is the RoundBar SL adapter kit and part number Y00147 and these are the Timberline towers for the Yakima crossbars, particularly for factory raised side rails. The Yakima RoundBar Roof Rack System is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof while freeing up space inside your vehicle. This can carry anything from bike racks to cargo baskets to cargo boxes. The RoundBars are strong and durable, however, you may experience some sound and noise while you're driving around with these. Yakima does have fairings that they offer to cut down the wind noise and drag, which you can find on etrailer.com or you can upgrade these bars to either the CoreBars or the JetStream bars as well.Our end caps are lockable by knocking out these plastic portions here. Not only can you secure it to your factory raised side rails but you can also make it keyed alike with your accessories.

This can work with bike racks, cargo baskets or cargo boxes. The bars themselves are very sturdy and have an aerodynamic shape to them which is going to cut down wind noise and drag while you drive. Unfortunately you can not use T-Track accessories with this.



Inno Roof Rack Review - 2017 Toyota 4Runner

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Toyota 4Runner, we're going to be testing fitting the Inno Aero Crossbar Roof Rack System, consisting of part numbers INXB108-2. These are the Inno Aero Crossbars 42" long. We'll also be using part number INXS100, and these are the Inno Flush Feet for the Aero Crossbars, particularly for factory raised side rails.The Inno Aero Roof Rack System is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof or freeing up space inside your vehicle. This can carry anything from bike racks to cargo baskets to cargo boxes. Once the bars are installed, they have a nice factory look to them, as you can see here. They do also have an aerodynamic shape to them, and that coupled with the rubber strip up at the top is going to cut down the wind noise and drag while you drive.



Inno Roof Rack Review - 2017 Toyota 4Runner

Speaker 1: We're going to be test fitting the Inno square crossbar roof rack system consisting of part numbers INB127. These are the Inno Square cross bars, 50 inches long. We'll also be using part number INFR and these are the Inno feet for the fitted square crossbars, particularly for factory raised side rails. The bars are very strong and durable. However, because of the square shape to them, they may cause noise while you're driving.



Malone AirFlow2 Universal Roof Rack Installation - 2017 Toyota 4Runner

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Toyota 4Runner, we're going to be test fitting the Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack System. Part number, MPG215. The Malone AirFlow2 is a great roof rack system designed to carry a wide variety of accessories on your roof or freeing up space inside your vehicle. It can carry anything from bike racks, to carry baskets, to cargo boxes. One of the biggest advantages to this roof rack system is, is it comes with everything already installed, so you don't have to assemble anything to get this onto your roof rack system.However, you do have some strips that you can cut into place and that coincides with the general shaped of the bars, which are aerodynamic, and that with the rubber strip at the top and the strip you'll cut underneath, that will cut down the wind noise and drag while you drive. Another nice feature about this is the fact that it can take any T-track accessories.



Yakima FlushBar Crossbars Installation - 2012 Toyota 4Runner

Speaker 1: Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner we'll be taking a look at the Yakima Roof Rack System. This is going to consist of the Yakima FlushBar Crossbars, part number: Y00442-2. And the Yakima Fit Kit, part number: Y00158. These Yakima bars are going to be universal carriers that let you carry bike racks, cargo baskets, ski and snowboard carriers, or kayak carriers. The Yakima FlushBars have an aerodynamic tapered wing shape that helps reduce wind noise and vibration when driving down the road. The SmartFoot towers are going to make for a quick and easy installation.



Malone AirFlow2 Universal Roof Rack Installation - 2012 Toyota 4Runner

Speaker 1: Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner, we're going to be test fitting the Malone AirFlow2 Universal Roof Rack for raised side rails, part number MPG215. The Malone AirFlow2 is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof, while freeing up space inside your vehicle. You can carry bike racks, cargo baskets, cargo boxes, kayak carriers, ski and snow board carriers, among other things.But flipping open our cover here, you can see it can accept t-track accessories. Now in some cases you may need to remove the rubber strip, insert your accessories, and then cut the strip to length, and put it around that to cut down the wind noise and drag. And it also comes with a rubber strip that goes underneath once it's installed, that you would also have to measure out and cut, and this again cuts down that wind noise and drag. That, as well as the aerodynamic shape of the bars.The Malone towers also have locks to them.



Malone Roof Rack Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner

Today in our 2012 Toyota 4-Runner we're gonna be test fitting the Malone Steel Top Universal Roof Rack System for our factory raised side rails. This is gonna be part number MPG203. We have our rear bar set on our table here along with our locking end caps and our tightening tool. We already have our front bar installed. Let's go ahead and take a look at that real quick. We have it set towards the front and we measured back from this edge here on both sides the same distance to make sure it was in the same place on both sides. Then we measured from the point here out for our crossbar overhang to make sure it was even on those sides as well.

Malone Roof Bike Racks Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner

Today with our 2012 Toyota 4Runner, we're going to be test fitting the Malone Pilot roof bike rack. Part number MPG2103. We already have a bike rack installed on the rack, so let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. How this bike is attached to the rack, we're not going to have any frame contact at all. Instead, we're going to have this padded wheel hook up at the front, that grips it by your tire. RockyMounts Roof Bike Racks Review - 2016 Toyota 4Runner

Today on our 2016 Toyota 4Runner, we're doing a test fit of the RockyMount SwitchHitter Roof-mounted Bike Rack. That part number is RKY1270. We already have our bike rack and our bike secured to our vehicle. We're first going to check our hatch here. We're going to make sure that we're able to gain partial, if not full, access. We want to double check that.



Inno Roof Bike Racks Review - 2016 Toyota 4Runner

Today, on our 2016 Toyota Four Runner, we're doing a test fit of the Inno multi fork lock roof mounted bike rack. That part number is INA392. We already have our bike rack, and our bike installed on or vehicle. We're first going to show you one of the key features of this rack. We're going to try and gain access to our back hatch, here. We'll start to open up this door, and it looks like we're going to have contact with this back spoiler portion before we're able to open our door all the way.



RockyMounts TieRod Stretch Roof Bike Rack Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner

Today on our 2012 Toyota 4runner well be test fitting the Rocky Mount tie rod stretch roof mounted bike carrier, part #RKY1011. Well begin our test fit by placing the carrier onto the vehicles load bars. Well go ahead and start with the rear bracket. Well loosen up one of the allen bolts to bring the rear bracket around the underside of the rear load bar. Well insert the allen bolt through the hole in the bottom of the bracket and tighten it down with the allen wrench. Well now move to the head of the carrier where well remove the black plastic cover. Well slide the carrier back to bring the rubber coated steel straps around the underside of the front load bar. Well then use the included allen key to tighten down the silver bolt to bring the straps up around tightly against the front load bar.



Yakima FrontLoader Roof Bike Rack Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner

Today on our 2012 Toyota 4runner well be test fitting the Yakima front loader roof mounted bike carrier, part #Y02103. To begin our test fit well place the carrier onto the vehicles cross bars. Well slide the head of the carrier onto the front cross bar and bring the back bracket around the rear cross bar. Up at the head of the carrier turn the black T-handle to pinch the clamps together, securing the head of the carrier to the front cross bar. Well then move to the rear of the carrier where we will tighten the black wing nut to secure the rear part of the carrier to the rear cross bar. Now with the front loader secured to our 4runner were ready to load up our bike. Well fold out the front part of the wheel hook and undo the tray strap. Well place the bike onto the carrier and roll it forward bringing the back part of the wheel hook up behind the front tire.



Yakima ForkLift Roof Mounted Bike Rack Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner

Today on our 2012 Toyota 4runner well be test fitting the Yakima Forklift Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number y02098. Well begin our test fit by placing the carrier onto the vehicles crossbars. Well bring the back bracket around the rear crossbar and insert the t-bolt into the opening of the bracket. Well then loosen up the black wing nut at the head of the carrier to bring the bracket around the front crossbar. Well reinsert our silver tbolt and tighten down the black wing nut to secure the head of the carrier to the front crossbar. Well then remove our skewer to slide up the black security cover, and then replace our skewer making sure it is kind of loose to prepare us to load our bike.



Whispbar Roof Mount Bike Rack Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner

Today on our 2012 Toyota 4runner well be test fitting the Whispbar Rooftop Bike Carrier, part number wb-200. Well begin our test fit by placing the carrier onto the vehicles crossbars. With the latches undone, well slide the t-bolts into the rubber tracking of our roof rack. Well then adjust the rear as well to fit the rear crossbar. Now our vehicle is equipped with a Whispbar Roof Rack so we wont be needing the round bar adapter. Once the t-bolts are in the rubber channel, we can then clamp down the silver levers which will turn the t-bolts inside of the rubber channel and secure the bike rack to the vehicle.



Thule Domestique Roof Bike Rack Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner

Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner, we'll be test fitting the Thule Domestique Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number TH513. We'll begin our test fit by placing the carrier onto the vehicle's load bars. Using the Allen key, we'll loosen up the Allen bolts for the rear bracket to bring the rear bracket on the underside of the rear load bar. We'll then need to remove the skewer up at the front to expose the two front Allen bolts. We'll then loosen up the Allen bolts to bring the front bracket around the underside of the front load bar. Once both brackets are in position, we can then again use the Allen key to tighten on the Allen bolts to bring the brackets up around tightly against the load bars.



Swagman Fork Down Roof Bike Rack Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner

Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner, we'll be test fitting the Swagman Fork Down Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number S64710. We'll begin our test fit by placing the carrier onto the vehicle's load bars. We'll take the silver bracket and slide it down through the carrier on top of the rear load bar. Now moving up to the front, we'll take the two silver brackets and go underneath the front load bar and into the carrier. We'll then thread on the black wing nuts down on top of the bracket to secure the front of the carrier to the front load bar. We'll then move to the rear of the carrier where we will slide the black plate onto the bracket and use the included wing nuts to tighten it down.



RockyMounts TieRod Roof Bike Rack Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner

Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner, we'll be test fitting the RockyMounts TieRod Roof Mounted Bike Carrier in black, part number RKY1012. We'll begin our test fit by placing the carrier onto the vehicle's load bars. We'll loosen up the wing nuts for the rear bracket to bring the rear bracket on the other side of the rear load bar. We'll tighten the wing nuts loosely and move to the front of the carrier where we'll remove the black plastic cover. We'll slide the carrier back to bring the rubber coated steel straps around the other side of the front load bar. We'll hook the straps back into the top of the bracket and use the included Allen key to turn the silver bolt to bring the straps around tightly against the front load bar.

Kuat Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner

Today on our 2012 Toyota 4runner we'll be doing a test fit on the Kuat Skinny Roof Cargo Basket and Bike Rack, part number SK01. It measures 82 inches long by 23 inches wide and has 160 pound weight capacity. To begin our test here, I would like to point out that this roof basket is going to fit your round, square, arrow, elliptical and most factory roof rack systems as well. You need to be sure you have a cross bar 00:00:23 spread between 20 and 36 inches. We've got about 28 here today. With it installed I would like to point out that we still have full access with our rear hatch. As you can see I've got it installed on one side of the roof rack.



Rhino Rack Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner

Today on our 2012 Toyota 4-Runner, we're doing a test fit of the Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform, that is 58" long by 47" wide, and the part number for that is RR42115BF. We already have three of our four mounts down and in place. We're going to secure our fourth one back here on our passenger side. I'm just going to step up. We've got that bracket placed down already, it's simple and easy to move around when you need to, so it slides up and down the length of our platform. We're going to take bottom bracket and secure that in place. We've got our two bolts, and we've got our tool as well.



Surco Products Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner

Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner we're going to be doing a test fit of the Surco Safari 5.0 cargo carrier. This is going to be your roof mounted basket. It's going to be 50 inches long, 45 inches wide, have a depth of 5 inches, have a sturdy steel construction, and it's going to have a 250 pound weight capacity. It's going to be Part Number SPS4550-1101. The first thing with this rack is you're going to get it and you're going to have your feet separate. You're going to need to lay the basket up on your rack to determine your crossbar spread. Then you'll slide your feet on like so and get them spaced out evenly across your vehicle.



Thule Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner

Today on our 2012 Toyota Forerunner, we're going to be doing a test fit of our Thule Canyon Rooftop Mounted Cargo Basket. This'll be part number TH859. It's going to be forty-nine inches long, by forty inches wide, and have a depth of six inches. It's going to have a sturdy steel construction with a one hundred and fifty pound weight capacity. As you can see, we've already got three of our feet mounted up here on our arrow style bars. We're going to show you how to mount up this last one, because all of them are the exact same. First thing you're going to do, is adjust your feet while it's on the ground.



SportRack Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner

Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Sport Rack Vista Roof Rack Mounted Cargo Basket. It's going to be part number SR9035. It's 44 inches long by 39 and 1/8 inches wide, 6 inches deep and has a 130 pound or excuse me a 110 pound weight capacity. It has a sturdy steel construction and as you can see we have it up here on top of our aero bars and we already have 3 of the feet mounted. We're going to show you how to mount that last foot because all of them are the same. To do so, the first thing you're going to do is place the plastic spacer in between the bar and the rack at your desired location when you have your other ones or equal to where you want it. Next you'll take the metal U shape bracket like so with the 2 holes on either side.

Now weve already gone ahead and passed the clamps through the cargo box, so as we load it youll notice that our clamps are open and well make sure that they go over the top of both the front and rear crossbar. We can then make sure that our box is centered with the vehicle, where well tighten down the gray knobs inside the cargo box, clamping the clamps to the crossbars, securing our box to the vehicle. With all four clamps tight, our cargo box is secured and were ready to load it up.

Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner we'll be test fitting the Yakima FatCat 6 Locking Rooftop Ski and Snowboard Carrier with a six ski or four board capacity, part number y03088. We'll begin our test fit by placing the front part of the carrier onto the front crossbar. We'll open up the clamps exposing the two black levers. We'll bring the rubber-coated steel straps around the underside of the front crossbar and hook them back into the top bracket.We'll then turn the black levers and clamp them down securing the front part of the carrier to the front crossbar. The Seawing is a V-shaped, saddle style kayak carrier that enables you to carry up to one kayak on your roof and leaves enough space that if you wanted to purchase another Seawing, you could carry at least dual kayaks on your roof, as well, or have other accessories such as bike racks on the other side. It includes all the necessary tie-downs to secure this to both the carrier itself and your roof rack.And the straps for the kayak do come with this protective material underneath the buckle to protect the hull of your kayak, to make sure it doesn't get scratches or anything like once it's being installed. There is padding on the saddles themselves to also protect your hull, and of course, it does come with the balance string and tie-downs, as well.This is a rear-loading style of kayak carrier. All right, today we're going to do a test fit of part number TH854 from Thule. This is the Water Slide. We're doing this test fit on a 2012 Toyota 4Runner with the Thule Square load bars in place. Basically, this is a mat that you temporarily install on your rear crossbar where you're loading up your kayak so it protects the finish on your car. Since this vehicle had a spoiler on the back, this will come in handy. Okay, let's take our mat and slide it up to the bar and we'll use the hook and loop fasteners to wrap around the bar and back onto itself.
